Ordered a couple of Caboodles I didn't truly need because I've had my eye on them for a few years now, and I figured I'd better get them before Trump's tariffs make them unaffordable. 🤷
#journal#obviously I don't want to impulse shop just because I think prices are going to go up#but I'm not against getting a few things within reason

I'm so fed up with technology.
My phone updated overnight even though I have auto update turned off and it drastically changed my alarm clock user interface to be less functional. It no longer displays the full alarm title, and the sliding toggle was removed in favor of two big sloppy buttons that are so close together they touch. I rely on my phone for multiple alarms, so this is upsetting to me.
There's not even a useable search engine available anymore. None of them return decent results and they all have AI that can't be disabled. Don't get me started on AI. Even Firefox is pushing AI onto users now instead of doing something more useful, like making inactive tabs visible against the tab bar background.
Apple, Google, and Microsoft are in a race to see who can become the Most Evil Company of all time. At this point, there isn't a lesser evil to settle for. I'm tired of the hostility towards us users who don't truly have a choice or a voice.

the hummer and the stinger
some days you stand and fight, and others you get stung! The wasps were the main problem that bothered the hummers late summer in the front yard. For the first time ever, we put out feeders late in the summer due to the drought and lack of flowers. The hummers love the feeders, but so do wasps and ants! This shot is a bit blurry but was trying to capture one of the battles in front of me….

It's ridiculous how hard it is for me to use my fountain pens. You would think working in an office would be an opportunity to use them, but I'm stuck using click pens because I have to write fast notes with one hand. I don't write grocery or errand lists because making lists on my cell phone works better for me. I'm a big believer in the written word, but I don't do much writing. I guess I'm a hypocrite.
All of this to say: I accidentally let the ink dry out in my Sailor pen and feel terrible about it. I ordered the Sailor maintenance syringe so I can clean it and am impatiently waiting for it to arrive. In the meantime, I'm thinking of adding a drop of water to the ink cartridge to see if that will rehydrate the ink and make it easier to flush out.
Is any of the above stopping me from wanting more fountain pens? Of course not! I'm currently pining for a Pilot Cavalier (one that has been discontinued, making it all the more ridiculous).

My first taste of Darjeeling was a box of Twinings from the local grocery store. It was so muscatel and smooth. This was a cruel joke the universe had decided to play on me. Every cup of Darjeeling I've had since then has been heavy with tannin bitterness, and I couldn't even make believe it had just a hint of Champagne essence. I've tried several different brands and multiple boxes of Twinings over the years, and they're all the same: bitter. I have stolen a taste of the god's nectar and for it have been cursed; Nothing else can quench my thirst for as long as I shall live.
#journal#tea#yes I know I need to try a 2nd flush tea but I have royalty's taste on a peasant's budget and always way too many teas in the cupboard#maybe once I finally run out of the cursed bitter teabags that are currently in my Darjeeling tin I will treat myself#assuming that we aren't living through the 2nd Great Depression by then
