i think the reason "fiction affects reality" trips so many people up is because they think it means "engaging with media that depicts uncomfortable subjects will taint your soul" when really all it means is that "fiction is meant to reflect certain ideas of the world intentionally or not, and it's going affect your perception of it, if you don't go in with a healthy bit of skepticism"

…just encountered a bug(?) where siffrin used the dagger on themself, the screen went black, the music stopped, and then they didn’t loop. it just... stayed on the black screen. with no music. perfectly silent.

i wasn't sure if my game had crashed, so i was pressing random buttons on the keyboard, and i guess i ran into the door (i was in the first room of the house), because this came up:

i can still open up the menu, too:

siffrin is just fucking dead oh my god

anyway i tried using a crafted water, which brought profile!siffrin out of the KO state, but when i exit the menu the screen's still black and the music's still off. tried using the dagger again. same result. no loop, just silent blackness.

genuinely terrifying.
