Fortnite Update

Fortnite's new season has recently added a new big update which is a Lego game mode where Fortnite has had a collaboration with Lego , where you can freely build without worry in sandbox or you can play survival where you can progress through the game by getting new tools, upgrading your village and crafting stations etc. This new Lego game mode is pretty much the same as Minecraft, just all Lego styled.

The sandbox game mode pretty much just lets you build without needing to gather materials for building and no enemies spawn. In survival you can still build but you need to gather the materials yourself by cutting down trees and mining. Survival is also meant to explore the map to access different areas and get loot.

Lego also brought a new variation of Fortnite skins and emotes which are Lego skins and emotes that you can use in the Lego worlds. This game mode also comes with multiple easter eggs around the map.

The update has also come with other things such as a racing game mode that has vehicles from the game Rocket League. This update has also added many more collectibles to Fortnite

League Of Legends

League Of Legends (LOL) is one of the most popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games out there right now from the same company that made the game Valorant Riot Games.

This game is a five versus five game where you start at level zero at the beginning of each game, and level up the character you choose for that game and buy gear with money you get during the game to get stronger than the other team. You also choose one of five roles to play as in the game before you start the game. There is jungle, middle, top, and two bottom. These roles decide where and how you are going to play.

This is a free game so one of the ways they get income is by adding skins for different characters that you can then use in games, these skins are possible to get for free by getting lucky and playing the game, but most people just buy the skins.

I have played this game a few times myself but I have to say that it takes a lot of practice to actually be good at this game, because there are many things you have to learn to be good and learn all the strategies you can use to win the game.

Lethal Company

Lethal Company is a new indie horror multiplayer game. Even though this game is new, the game has 100+ thousand concurrent players, and I think that it is well deserved. I have been playing this game for a couple weeks now and it is really fun, the various monsters still have a way of scaring me even though I have played for long enough to gain some knowledge to counteract the monsters.

The game's developer also announced that there will be more updates coming in the future, that will at even more variety to monsters, as well as more maps and customizations, in doing so they hope to make the game feel more fresh every time you play.

In Lethal Company you have to earn quotas by selling scraps that you find on different moons. You have three days to loot moons to earn money that you need for the quotas, then you go back to the company building to sell. Each time a quota is completed the amount for the next quota increases, and if the quota is not met you will be forcibly removed from the ship and thrown into space where you meet your end and restart.

Minecraft

So minecraft is a 3D sandbox game where you can build anything that you can with mostly cube shaped blocks. You can also mine for blocks and ores to make gear to fight the enemies that are in the game that spawn in dark areas or at night time.

Minecraft is a type of game that really brings out a lot of people's creativity, because of how free you are to build what ever you want to build. Even if you do not want to build, there is a final boss you can fight once you gear up with weapons are armor. To get to this boss called the ender dragon you will need to find the portal with a item called the eyes of ender and then once you get there you can fight the boss.

I personally really like the mining part of the game because I just like the feeling of finding rare ore and mining it, then making some gear out of it to get stronger to fight enemies. I think the building aspect of the game is really fleshed out but I'm not very creative so I don't build very much, other then just a house to keep my items in an sleep at night time.

Me and my friends usually have phases every year where we play minecraft for around 2-3 weeks before we go back to what ever it is we were doing before.

Fortnite OG

Fortnite is your average battle royale game with guns, explosives etc. But the main difference from other battle royale games is the original mechanic they have, which is building. This game has recently had an update which is called the og update, (og means original for people who don't know). This update has brought back a lot of things back from the early updates of the game such as the weapons, vehicles, skins and mainly the original map/areas.

The latest update has had many current players excited to play the original game again as well as some new players, but it has also brought back many og players to the game, which includes me. I have to say that the update has brought me back to the game and after a long time since playing the game I am enjoying it even more, I am even learning how to build which is a staple part of the game, but I haven't been interested in learning how until now. The og areas in the map have also been fun because it has been bringing back good memories of when I used to play the game.

Overall this update was a good way to keep players playing the game as well as bringing in some more players.

Gacha Games

So I am going to talk about gacha games as a whole, as in the genre.

Gacha games are a genre of games which is essentially similar to gambling, this is because in these types of games the main focus is to collect characters in the game, some are better and more rare then others which is basically what everyone wants to get.

These characters art styles in these games are also usually anime styled.

To get characters you will have to pull on a banner, which is just what a collection of characters are generally called. To pull on these banners you will need a special currency, the names vary from game to game, and you scarcely collect this currency by playing, but the easiest way to get currency is buy purchasing it in the store with real money. This is also why gacha games are generally "pay to win", this is also the main way the people who make the game generate money from the game.

The other main part of these games are another genre of game because, some of these games can range from action/adventure games, exploration games or turned base games. This is the other main part of gacha games because after you get characters to play as you can use them in game for fighting or adventuring.

Roblox

Roblox is a sandbox game platform where anyone can make any games on, and just post them to play. Then anybody can play these games usually for free, some people make them paid access though. The games can come in all ranges of genres such as action/adventure, horror, puzzle, etc.

You can make whole games on it from scratch, you can make the models for every object as well as their animations and effects. Developers on roblox usually have a whole team that they make these games with.

I have spent a good amount of time on roblox games and I can say that they are really fun and most games can be played by all age ranges.

I have not tried making a game on roblox before, but from what I see from players other people's games it looks like a very adept game developing platform. The games that can be made are very detailed.

Valorant Skins

Valorant is a game similar to CSGO, a five versus five first person shooter.

In Valorant there are different skins for every weapon in the game. This is probably the biggest way that they have for making money from the game. They make bundles that they release every month or so, these bundles come with a set of five weapon skins, and the guns usually vary, but every bundle comes with a mele weapon skin.

There are two main types of skins, the ones that have upgrades and the ones that don't. The ones that don't have upgrades are just the weapon skin itself, but the ones that can be upgraded can be upgraded to have a different sound when pulling out the weapon or firing it, it can also change the color of the skin and have an animation when the last enemy gets killed with that upgraded weapon.

My personal favorite bundle is the reaver bundle. I really like this bundle because of it's looks and aesthetics, my favorite part of this bundle is the vandal skin.

Counter Strike 2

CS 2 has just recently been released, and many people have many mixed feelings for the game.

On the negative side, since CS 2 is still a new game many players are complaining and stressing about bugs especially when it comes to affecting your rank in the game. One main bug is was the incomplete hitboxes, the problem was that when a character is moving their hitboxes lagged behind them, meaning that they could possibly be hit even though the person that shot them shouldn't have hit them.

Another example of negative feedback, is that CS 2 brought a new tick system to the game servers, and some international players have noted that this has made the game "nearly unplayable" compared to its parent game CSGO.

In my personal experience, I think the new competitive system wasn't a very good or fun idea, this is because you have to win 10 competitive games on the map to get a rank for the map. This means that you would have to win 10 games on each map to get a rank on each map. In CSGO you would only need to win 10 games for a competitive rank on every map. Though this may be because they want you to play premiere, where you only need to win 10 games in total for a rank.

Though there are many negative complaints, on the positive side I think that the changes to the maps and the upgraded graphics are a really nice change to the game. The new grenade physics has also improved the game especially the smoke grenade, it now acts more like how smoke would normally work in real life.
