Multi-functional space Our desks and chairs allow all kinds of workshop and lecture setups for up to 40 people. We offer all the usual technical facilities such a ultra fast WiFi, projector / beamer, flip-over, etc. Contact us for more info.

Commercial rent For all presentations, workshops, brain storming or creative sessions, product launches or anything else, the Up Cycle University offers the ideal location and setting. The Upcycle University multifunctional space (90m2) starts from €350 excl. v.a.t. (btw) for half a day, morning or afternoon, for commercial use. Bookings for the entire day (8 hours) are available from €500 ecl.v.a.t. (btw). Let us know what you’d like to use, such as beamers, flip-overs, catering, inspirational lectures etc.

Cultural rent For cultural, educational, government or other non-profit organizations or institutions (ANBI status), the Up Cycle Universityt with its 90m2 of multi functional space, is available at a special fee starting from €200 excl. v.a.t. (btw)  for mornings or afternoons and €350 excl. btw for the entire day. Let us know how we can help you.

Education There are many things to learn about the projects realized by Studio Valkenier and friends. in an innovative vineyard environment.

Studio Valkenier hosts special personal tours and educational demos for students of primary, secondary and higher education. A walking tour takes you through Garden of Bret, Station area and building site. A cycling tour takes you to BRET, Hannekes Boom, Stadstimmertuin and Ceuvel.

Presentations For those who want to go more in depth, Studio Valkenier offers custom made presentations that go in depth about the design philosophy and background of projects and allow you to engage in a dialogue about the project. We have a special lecture room which looks over the building site, with free WiFi, coffee and tea. When you book a lecture/workshop/college or tour at the Upcycle University you’ll learn about bottom-up community development, architecture & spatial planning, Up cycling. You can use our Surfing Amsterdam Architecture map and make a tour by book to visit our favorite spots in Amsterdam. De Tuin van Bret  De Tuin van Bret  is Amsterdam’s first area for entrepreneurs and artist totally made from re-used materials in an innovative vineyard environment.

 In 2011 Studio Valkenier brought together a group that put forth the design of the station square and transformed it into a public park. Inside the park they designed and realized restaurant BRET build of re-used red containers. After this project Studio Valkenier redesigned a vacant plot of land next to BRET into the Tuin van Bret. Because of the temporary,10-year nature of the development and the low budget, Studio Valkenier focused on developing an innovative concept where mobility and Up Cycling are central. The design of the urban plan and community-driven nature of the project combined with the Vineyard by architect Yvonne Modderman rapidly turned into something beautiful and valuable.

A circular and craft based business area that aims to repurpose all products and materials. Pavilions are built from sea containers, old greenhouses and it will even have church and an urban vineyard! Bret’s Garden aims to be a maximal impuls from and by creative entrepreneurs with a minimal footprint.

Catering Catering for lunch or snacks is available via restaurant BRET. They believe in honesty and sustainability. Therefore they only work with local wholesalers, organic produce and farms with maximum animal welfare.
