Best way to present answer in CA exam
I will put forward my two cents on this point wise.
1.While drawing up any account, if you feel the breadth of the page isn't enough, do not hesitate to take both the facing pages together and place the debit entries on the left side and credit on the right facing pages. Even if that means leaving the previous page blank. You can always put a note for that ( as in, For Capital A/c, P.T.O).
In fact, I always started any answer for accounts from the left page, so as to provide me full visibility of the working notes and simultaneous posting of accounts.
This has two advantages. First, your handwriting is not microscopic and illegible and Second, you have can revise or rectify mistakes very easily because of the space available at hand.
2. Always start a fresh answer in a fresh page. Always.
This again has two advantages. First - the examiner will never overlook your answer mistakenly and not mark it. Second - any last minute changes and additions can be fit in easily. This is especially helpful for theory papers. You never know, 5 minutes prior to the end, you might be enlightened with something very integral !
The institute does not have a cap for the extra sheets taken, so no worry for that. As far as the glares from fellow examiners are concerned ( which I know can be intimidating ), I have taken supplements for every paper I have ever given. The glares are forgotten the moment you see the marks.
3. It is not necessary as such to leave a line between the points as such in theory answers, but as I earlier said, this gives your paper an overall aesthetic appeal and is pleasing to eyes. Nobody likes to go through minuscule and cramped up answers. Not to forget the sudden recapitulation of the SA number or the section, which can be happily inserted to earn some brownie points.
4. As for any other tip, I can suggest what I did. I always made it a point to begin a new answer by numbering it this way-
Answer to Question No. 4 (b)
That's right in the centre with a black pen, since I took the paper with a blue one.
This is so much easier for the examiner to follow rather than searching for the number squeezed on the left margin.
5. Another ritual I followed was to tick the questions attempted box provided in the first page, as soon as I finished answering one. It boosted my confidence to see the ticks and also saved me from last minute anxiety and errors to fill in that box.
6. For theory answers, break it up in small paragraphs rather than making it one long monotonous essay. It is easier to mark for the examiner. Once he/she comes across the word they are looking for, automatically your impression and marks shoot up.
One thing is for certain. Presentation and handwriting might not really matter if you look from it in the perspective of overall marking, with the exception of maybe 5 odd marks. ( & of course, CA students very well know the importance of each and every mark! :P )
But little aspects as this go a long mile in lending credibility to your paper. The examiner is after all a human like us, looking to spend not more than 10 minutes in evaluating a paper. It is our job to not give them an eyesore while doing so. An average answer with a great presentation is way better than a good answer with bad presentation.

"How to be topper in engineer exams ?" By a topper
I attend all classes as a rule, and listen attentively, specially when something important is being discussed.
I follow a good routine. There should be a fixed sleeping and waking up time, and a good one (like wake up at 6–9 AM), and sleep for at least 7 hours at night, and before 12AM if possible.
Keeping a diary with daily, weekly, monthly and long term goals written always helps.
Keep it short and simple. Also, short notes would be a book a few days before exams.
I go home and read notes/revise what was taught. It helps in understanding the material a lot.
I used to do my homework regularly, but I never paid much attention to it. I used to solve it fast(but regularly).I discuss all my doubts with teachers during discussion. Even the simplest and stupidest.
People sometimes have a hard time trying to believe my (little) achievements, because of the simple doubts I ask.
But trust me, they lead to concept clarity. People moan as to why the hell is he asking that, but bleh, I get to clear my doubts.
You have to be a little self centered to be at the top.I try to save as much time as possible from 'trivial' stuff like homework and all.
I use the remaining time for studying beyond curriculum. I find it a characteristic of almost everyone who has achieved distinction in some way (people in my batch at college, my Olympiad winner friends, etc.).
I used to solve homework in minimum time and use the rest for solving Olympiad problems, reading higher standard textbooks, etc.Books always give you an upper edge. People keep on solving problems and ignore the power of theory.
Problems will take you to 90%. The rest 10% comes when you read a standard textbook.I try to solve tougher problems than what I am able to at that moment.I don't indulge in group discussions.
It kills time and I don't find it productive. I try solving things on my own. (I deviated from this rule in college a bit, and I regret it, and won't repeat it). There are a few other points like avoiding non productive activities, NOT listening to music/watching TV while studying, taking breaks but not too often, etc. Rock(Linkin Park for me) helps in staying awake during late night studies though.

Software engineering
Software Engineering has no specific educational parameter.
The bitter truth is, software engineers around the globe have to compete with people of other engineering branches. It does’t matter what undergrad degree one has, anybody can switch to IT. I have seen Chemical Engineers, homeopathy doctors, chartered accountants,B.Com, B . Sc in Physics, MBA etc sitting in front of computer and doing things completely out of their league. And then we have to debug their godforsaken code. Good (qualified) developers on the other hand are becoming film makers, due to this stiff competition.
Thanks to all the certifications. Earn some money, get a 50,000 rupees certification with the help of a 15,000 rupees dump, get a job in an IT company and jeopardize your colleague's life. This is what 90% of the IT crowd is. Special Thanks to the HRs. More than half of the HR fraternity were once call center employees. All they know is certification. A MBBS with a CEH V9 is considered the leader of Anonymous and is hired immediately, whereas a B.Tech Computer Science, with no certification is rejected.
Certifications have no importance in India. Higher education in India is affordable. People is first world countries can’t afford beyond high school. Only 30% can afford a bachelor’s degree in the US. Certifications are for them, not us. Is 4 years college education not enough?
The entire Information Technology field is very fragile and it will remain fragile for next 80 years, till we successfully deploy Skynet and bomb ourselves. Unless you’re exceptionally good at understanding computational logic, don’t even think about becoming a developer. And, if you can’t make it to a top college, forget Computer Science altogether or try again next year.
