the grid as dogs, according to american kennel club breed selector tool
akc has this useful online quiz where you can get information about what kind of dog is right for you based on assorted traits. i went ahead and rated the twenty drivers on the formula 1 grid on their friendliness, trainability, size, talkativeness, and grooming needs.
here are the scientifically determined results:
lando norris: GRIFFON BRUXELLOIS. "emotionally sensitive", "very good provided they are not teased", "they have no concept of their own relative size and may attempt to dominate dogs much larger than themselves"
oscar piastri: ENGLISH POINTER. "an energetic and enthusiastic hunter but calm at home", "the Pointer is more aloof and reserved with a lower need for human companionship", "renowned for his scenting prowess and loyalty"
charles leclerc: KEESHOND. "he is affectionate and generally outgoing, and he loves everyone", "often used as comfort dogs", "the breed has a tendency to become especially clingy towards their owners. if their owner is out... they may sit, waiting for their owner to reappear, even if there are other people nearby"
lewis hamilton: BELGIAN SHEPHERD. "versatility and intelligence is the stuff of canine legend", "Belgians 'inspire such intense loyalty because they themselves live and love with such great passion.'"
max verstappen: GERMAN PINSCHER. "expect a vigilant watchdog who will warn you as much as he feels necessary, which might be often." "fearless, courageous, and very protective... make sure to extensively socialize early to ensure he's well-adjusted"
yuki tsunoda: FINNISH LAPPHUND. "crave companionship and will be miserable when neglected", "has a strong startle reflex, as he was bred to herd and had to watch out for being trampled."
george russell: AZAWAKH. "intensely loyal and affectionate with their families", "regular exercise (including running off leash) and a firm hand in training are imperative to keeping these dogs mentally balanced"
kimi antonelli: AFFENPINSCHER. "fiery little dog... affectionate and amusing", "enjoys showing off at any opportunity, known to perform goofy tricks for anyone who will watch"
fernando alonso: KUVASZ. "majestic companion of kings", "difficult to train, he is willful and sensitive", "usually gentle and patient with his own children, but take caution with other children and do not leave him unsupervised"
lance stroll: PUG. "bred to be a companion and a pleasure to his owners", "easy and docile", "may prefer to sit on your lap"
pierre gasly: BOYKIN SPANIEL. "avid, eager, merry, and trainable", "needs lots of exercise and regular work to stay happy", "soulful intelligence"
franco colapinto: SIBERIAN HUSKY. "a puppy at heart", "he is friendly to strangers so he shouldn't be used as a watchdog", "likes to howl a lot and is easily bored—he has been known to dig the stuffing out of the family sofa to build a nest"
esteban ocon: KOMONDOR. "fearless and loyal", "bred to think and act independently", "instinctively very protective of its family, home, and possessions"
ollie bearman: GOLDEN RETRIEVER. "excels in obedience competition, but can be overexuberant and distractible", "if isolated from human contact or left alone for long periods of time, they can become mischievous", "often completely devoid of guarding instincts"
isack hadjar: BRIARD. "packs so much loyalty, love, and spirit into its ample frame that it's often described as a 'heart wrapped in fur'", "the dashing good looks of these muscular frenchmen radiate a distinct aura of gallic romance and elegance." (NOTA BENE: it genuinely said this on american kennel club dot org.)
liam lawson: ANATOLIAN SHEPHERD. "loyal, possessive, brave, and proud", "protective and territorial, but intelligent and patient", "anatolian owners must be strong leaders"
alex albon: WIREHAIRED VIZSLA. "a people-loving 'everybody's buddy'", "intelligent and highly willful", "upbeat, bright, and lively", "a level personality"
carlos sainz: POLISH LOWLAND SHEEPDOG. "intelligent, perceptive pets that are capable of working independently from their owners for extended periods of time", "an excellent memory", "coat requires a lot of maintenance"
nico hulkenberg: BOERBOEL. "no-frills, no-nonsense", "gentle and protective, but should be taken seriously should a situation arise"
gabi bortoleto: RAT TERRIER. "he has an affectionate temperament though he doesn't like to be ignored and will dig at people with his paws", "though he may be reserved with strangers, once he knows you he will be sure to love you"

last post I’m making on this for my own sanity, but what’s more likely:
A. Lance’s plane was flying from London to Cyprus and then from Cyprus to London and had a mechanical failure TWICE which meant he had to have a layover in Israel - off route - TWICE and all the pictures of him at the beach club and at the airport wearing the same outfit (the ones at the airport were posted by someone who frequently posts pictures at an Israeli airport who said he was in Israel on the same day as the flight logs show) were an coincidental
OR
B. They dropped him off in Israel and kept the plane in Cyprus because there’s no chance of Cyprus bombing a nation and then having all air traffic be down for two weeks and all the pictures of him are actually where the people who posted them said they were taken
Tough choice huh
#no because look my stance on this is that you have two options#stroll wasn't in israel and you can admit you were wrong and resume supporting him#stroll was in israel and you were defending a zionist#there is clearly a scenario which is worse here... you will never get Official Evidence because why tf would any f1 driver post that#so with the given evidence! consider each worst outcome and pick your poison

i think yuki tsunoda is the only driver on the 2025 grid (to my knowledge) that natively speaks a language that isn't descended from proto-indo-european. (other native languages on the grid to my knowledge are german, dutch, english*, french, spanish, portuguese, italian). specifically, he doesn't speak a germanic or a romance language natively; unlike literally every other active driver.
this means that every other driver natively speaks a language that is relatively very closely related to english, while tsunoda's native language is completely unrelated to any other on the grid and the only one to not typically use the latin alphabet.
*to my understanding alex albon isn't fluent in thai and doesn't speak it with full native proficiency (valid)

Having Libby is amazing, I can just think of a book I want to read and go place a hold on it. And eventually my turn comes and I get to read it. For free. This is true luxury.
