     Can we talk about how majorly messed up this is? The Scourge turns you into a monster, mind, body, and soul, and you have no way to stop them because they can and will take your defenseless corpse and drag your spirit from the afterlife. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been dead for five seconds or dead for ten thousand years (oh poor, poor Sindragosa) they can get to you. They can take you. And you cannot stop them, you cannot reverse what they’ve done to you.

     That is so completely and utterly chilling on a visceral level already, and then it enters even greater levels when even if you’re lucky enough to escape slavery of the most horrifying degree, you’re still stuck being a monster. You are physiologically driven or even required to consciously commit atrocities on a regular basis. You may have to straight up torture people just to keep yourself sane enough to choose who you’re hurting.

     You are an abomination against Light and life and you will never change and you never had a choice.
