Kusuo Saiki's Terms of Endearment and Love Languages

Terms of Endearment

[Name] & Dear Honestly, Saiki would probably just call you by your first name. He isn't big on words, but it's how he says it that makes a difference. It's softer than his usual tone, which is EXACTLY what makes it special. Sometimes, maybe when he's feeling a bit drowsy or extra tired, he would use dear. Only in private of course. He prefers it to be something special between the two of you. But he loves using your name instead, it's his favorite word.

"[Name], I want to eat the desserts you bought." "Let's go to sleep, dear"

Love Languages

Acts of Service I think everyone agrees that he is an acts of service guy. Saiki isn't one that expresses his love for anyone using words. He keeps to himself, and would rather show his care for someone through his actions. He is quite literally the embodiment of actions speak louder than words. - Would wait for you outside of your house to walk with you to school - Would always buy a chocolate bar along with his daily purchases of coffee jelly just in case you wanted one - Before you find out you forgot something, he would've already taken care of it and have it in his hand. - When he sees that you fell asleep on your desk because of exhaustion, he would get you ready for bed and tuck you in. He would even tidy up your room and leave a snack in your bag. - One of his worst fears would be you getting burnt out or super tired because of your workload. That's why he tries his best to restore your energy while you're sleeping and gives you snacks after every exam. - Losing your spark is something he hopes doesn't happen, but if it does, he'll do his absolute best to re-motivate you. :((( - I have a feeling that he's the type to become more protective in a sense where he is constantly looking out for anything that might potentially hurt you. He wouldn't straight up admit it, but there would be signs. - If you guys are out, he would assign one of his clones to go invisible and walk ahead just as a safety precaution. - If you guys had a sleepover, he would FOR SURE cook you breakfast before the two of you head out for the day. Quality Time Aside from Acts of Service, I think he would also really show his love through the time he spends with you. He tries to get out of all of his meet ups with his friends, but he would be happy to have hangouts with you. He would ditch his friends if it meant spending more time with you LMAO KJHGFDS - Enjoys playing video games and watching TV with you - You guys would have a lot of sleepovers and cafe dates. - It doesn't really matter if there's silence or if you're yapping, he EATS it up everytime. - Even if you're working on something in your room, he would much rather stay with you and just read. - Midway, he would leave and buy some sweets at the nearby convenience store and make you eat them with him as a break. - That way, he can also make sure that you aren't pushing yourself too hard. URGHURURUUREUAU - I swear this guy just wants you within his vicinity. I think it makes him feel more at rest. - Probably spends most of his time with you than anyone else

Other In terms of your pet names for him would be Kusuo, Dear, and Love. 'Love' though, would be your go-to when you guys are a bit deeper in the relationship. Saiki would lowkey get caught off guard when you first used it and he'd DEFINITELY be flustered inside. I HONESTLY see him being alright with a bit of physical touch BUT NOT IN EXTREME AMOUNTS. Interlocking pinkies, holding your hand in large crowds, leaning your head on him when the two of you are tired at home, short kisses on your forehead, and HE'D ALRIGHT WITH YOU GIVING HIM QUICK PECKS ON HIS LIPS. Like if you initiate it, he wouldn't mind it! GENUINELY I feel like he would prefer it if you initiated most of the contact AS LONG AS IT'S NOT TOO MUCH The thing is, he KNOWS that you KNOW what's alright with him and what's not, which is why he trusts you a lot with it. SOMETIMES SOMETIMES Saiki would start it, but with something that you HAVEN'T DONE TO HIM YET. Valentines Day in the lenses of Kusuo Saiki!

Valentines was just another day with a fancy label, and for marketing. Well, that’s what Saiki thinks. I mean, he knows that it’s a day for people to celebrate love. He puts up with his parents’ shenanigans — trust me, he knows. Besides, he’s a highschooler. There are love confessions left and right, he’s even been a target himself of said confessions!

Sure, he’s dreamed of experiencing it one day and live a completely normal life that enjoys such pleasures. But it’s just a dream. He’s a psychic, and he can’t just get rid of his powers that easily.

So he’s settled with just putting up with the lovebirds and going on with his day. Perhaps it comes from a hint of jealousy that he feels this way towards Valentines, perhaps not. But at the end of the day, one fact remains set in stone for Saiki: it’s impossible to fall in love with psychic powers.

He’s firmly believed in this conviction ever since he was young. That was, until he noticed you and your peculiarity. You guys were friends. I mean, you were somehow always in close proximity with Saiki. In the same class, seatmates— he thought it was some sick joke that God was playing on him again, but it doesn’t really seem like a joke anymore.

‘You were a close friend.’

I guess you could say that you were the only one he considered his friend. He found your company refreshing, and wouldn’t mind taking longer walks home. Turns out, he wouldn’t mind doing alot of things with you. Little by little, there were a few tweaks in his daily routine, and even behavior. Passing by your house to walk with you, eating in Cafe Mami to escape the pesks outside (Nendo and Kaidou were left by themselves, much to Teruhashi’s dismay), and even including a chocolate bar to his daily purchases of coffee jelly, just in case you wanted one.

He was a good friend. He hoped so. But when he found himself instinctively giving a small smile every time your eyes shine when you grin, he felt warmer than usual. He could’ve sworn that he kept the temperature in his body the same, yet why was his heart beating a bit faster than usual? Why does he find himself inching a bit closer to you than usual?

Maybe his powers were the cause. Or maybe it was you.

Was he really just trying to be a good friend?

It messed with him, really badly. Luckily he was a man of few words. So, with his logic, it was easier to deal with it by himself.

‘You were just a close friend.’

Well, that’s what he said. But it still won’t change the way he still lingers closer to you anytime you’re near.

It still won’t change the fact that he brought one pack of homemade chocolates on Valentines’ Day anyway.

And how quickly it changed to ‘You are the only exception.’

Guess it is possible for people with psychic powers to fall in love.

Best believe that it really was a ‘Happy’ Valentines’ Day.

How would Saiki take care of you (tired/overworked reader)

- If you were feeling tired, especially during exam season, he would do really quick check ups on you - Even if it would be late at night, he knows that’s when you start working - Sometimes you end up falling asleep from exhaustion - Saiki usually teleports to your house and tucks you in properly before helping you fix up your desk. - (He leaves a small note with a chocolate bar on your desk but he’ll never mention it!) - You brought it up one time and he gave you his confused face - You took that as a yes - He wants to do more for you, but he can’t interrupt your flow - He knows that you’re prone to not getting enough sleep - So he makes sure that you have a good night’s sleep at least - And sometimes even re-energizes you in the morning - His biggest concern is you burning out - That’s why he tries his best to keep you motivated - When you’re finally free, Saiki’s feeling of relief is comparable to the happiness he gets when eating desserts (especially coffee jelly) - He won’t say it, but he’ll definitely show it - After your hell week is over, he makes sure you get the rest you need - Sleepovers are usually your go-to hang ups - I mean, what’s better than being able to relax with your favorite person? - And you bet that the following mornings after, you’ll be getting breakfast in bed - Care of Saiki of course - He insists that this is the least that he can do - Especially when you’re used to dealing with it alone - You’re glad you have someone to count on even in your most difficult times - And Saiki’s glad that you can lean on him during your toughest days

Today was… interesting, to say the least. You went out with Saiki to the park for some peace and quiet, yet you guys managed to run into Kaidou and Nendou. One thing led to another, and like always, Saiki saved the day.

You were certainly exhausted from everything that happened earlier, but it was fun. You knew that Saiki was even more drained. Well, socially. He has a ton of physical endurance, he’s a psychic!

You really wanted to show him your appreciation for today. You already thanked him before he brought you home, but you felt like it wasn’t enough.

This kept you up at night. Your brain has been racking through all of the ideas you could think of, but, eventually, it came to that.

Maybe, it’s worth a shot.

You sigh and prepare to block all of your additional and unnecessary thoughts before removing your bracelet.

“Here goes nothing” You mutter under your breath as you remove your bracelet.

Thank you for today, Kusuo. I’m proud of you. Love you!

The air left your lungs so easily, leaving you gasping as you grasped your bracelet. You didn’t even speak, you just thought it.

He’s already yours, yet you still act like a nervous wreck. You tried to convince yourself that he probably didn’t hear it. (keyword: tried)

“I mean, we are neighbors, but there are a ton of houses within a 200 meter radius right? Yeah, he probably didn’t hear it.” Deep down, you really hoped he heard it.

In the house next to yours, however, a particular psychic faced something… ‘uniquely challenging’.

Saiki sat up straight from his bed. He was about to go to sleep, but he noticed an additional voice— a voice he would never forget. (how could he not remember your voice??)

Oh, wow

He immediately teleported to your room, and ended up right next to you.

“Hey.” This is what I feared the most.

Your mind went blank and it didn’t hit you for a good second.

“Who are you!” You scream.

Are you kidding me.

Luckily I’m alone in the house, thank you for being abroad, mom & dad! I wouldve been soooo dead if they were here! Thank you Lord!

You think to yourself, momentarily taking your mind off of the situation in front of you.

WAIT! KUSUO?! Nah im just dreaming! Haha!

You breathe in and close your eyes, trying to regain your composure. Your eyes open, expecting him to disappear. But he’s actually there. It’s the Saiki Kusuo, and he’s not just a figment of your imagination. You were NOT expecting this outcome.

“I’m real. It’s me.” Obviously.

Your eyes widen and your body (and mind) stops functioning again. You breathe in, and out, resorting to that tactic. The tactic you always do best, DOUBLE A: Avoid and Avert the situation!

“Why are you here?” you give him that smile that you know he knows all too well.

There you go with your 'strategy'.

“Don’t act clueless. I heard that.”

“Heard what! Haha! Aww do you miss me!” a nervous chuckle escapes your mouth. The type that screams ‘I know what you mean but I don’t want to admit it!’, and he can tell.

“Don’t change the topic” Please.

“Oh well. I tried!” You let out an overly dramatic sigh as you accept your defeat. I can never win against him. Even without his telepathy, he can always figure me out…

“Why are you here though?”

“Because of that. I accidentally instinctively teleported.” I don’t even know why, I just know how.

“So you do miss me?”

“We just had a meetup a couple hours ago.” But I guess I don’t mind spending CAN TOLERATE a few more hours with you.

He didn’t directly answer the question, but you know the answer. You end up giving him a big fat grin. Why do you have to be so freaking cute!

He looks at you— this time, eye to eye. It takes you aback, but you’re no stranger to holding eye contact.

This means business, huh?

You brace yourself for whatever news that might arrive.

I can’t believe I’m gonna say this.

He sighs and mumbles out a phrase,

“Can you do it again? I’m just testing something out. And I need the data. This is for the sake of convenience.”

Silence filled the room. No freaking way. Your hand immediately went to check his forehead.

“What are you doing?”

“Oh wait, I forgot. You can’t get sick.”

“Did you seriously think I got sick?” You…

“Well what can I think! This is… bizarre?” You blink at him in confusion.

I agree. I’m confused too.

“I won’t ask again. If you don’t want to then, I won’t press on it.”

“No no no, how can I let this pass by! Sorry, I was just… shocked. I was expecting bad news.” Your serious expression turned into a beamed ear to ear, Saiki can tell you were enjoying this though. This teasing was torture for him (even if it isn’t even considered teasing, STILL!).

Stop it with the nonsense. Please just cut to the chase.

“I knew this was a bad idea, I’ll go back. Sorry.” He blurted it out, in his usual monotone voice.

You placed your hand above his.

“Don’t-“

Too late.

You teleported with him.

To his house.

There was a moment of awkward silence, in the same position that you were in a second ago, just in his bedroom this time.

You gave him a blank facial expression. He returned it with one as well.

“Please teleport us back.”

“Can’t. Only after 3 minutes”

The both of you returned to your bedroom. Your hand was still on top of his, even while you spiraled— and Saiki can tell.

What the hell will I even say? Gosh. This is like the third time I’ve done this. I know he deserves this but I’m so shy. What the heck. What the heck. Oh my gosh I’m gonna explode.

“You’re spiraling, aren’t you? I mean, it’s just thoughts. I hear millions of them, everyday.”

“It’s alright.”

“Okay. I’m gonna let go of this in a bit. I’ll try my best to be ‘quiet’, my thoughts can get a bit loud.”

“I know.” You’re talkative. Not that I mind.

“I’ll try to just say your name. I don’t know what else to say.”

I didn’t even expect you to say yes.

He gave a simple nod. This put you at ease. At least there's a calm one here!

You looked away. There’s no way I can look at him like this. You removed your grip from the bracelet.

Saiki Kusuo.

I love you.

You immediately touched the bracelet, and let out a sigh of relief.

The last part was definitely not planned, but it just felt right to include it— as if those words were meant to be woven into the same sentence. As if they were the last pieces to the puzzle that just fit perfectly.

And that’s what caused Saiki to feel… something. He felt a tug at his heart and the usual butterflies in his stomach (let’s be real, he always feels this with you, he just doesn’t want to admit it.) He felt something else, it’s more as if he heard something.

“There, was that alright?”

Wait. I think there was an explosion.

You took a small peak to see his reaction. He just had his usual, nonchalant look. But this time, it felt a bit different.

This lessens my embarrassment. Thank God!

He did not respond.

“… hey are you okay?”

He did not respond.

“Hey… don’t die on me!” You give a dramatic face as you sit up, straighter this time, and lean towards him.

“You’re too young… you have your whole life ahead of you!” You playfully cry as you pretend to check his pulse.

“You’re dangerous.” You do not know the damage done.

“Huh?”

“I think something… happened.”

“Why, Kusuo?”

“Good grief. I used clairvoyance.” The aliens are mad…

Yeah. A moon that belonged to an unidentified planet of a different universe randomly exploded. Saiki knew he PROBABLY had a connection to it, and it’s PROBABLY because he was taken aback from the last phrase you uttered out of the blue. But it's a huge mystery! Who knows!

Even though he was in denial, he had to acknowledge the fact that it happened unintentionally. His powers were acting up. And this occurs every time you manage to catch him off guard.

“Why, what happened?”

“I think a moon exploded.”

“OUR MOON?!”

“No, the moon of a random planet.” Why are you checking the window?

“HOW ARE YOU NOT FREAKING OUT?”

At this point, you were pacing around the room, with your hands sweating and practically gripping your bracelet.

Leaning your back to the wall, you decided to let go of those thoughts as you sat down on the ground.

“This is so not good for my heart.” You mumbled under your breath, but you know Saiki heard this very clearly.

You looked to your left and see Saiki in the same position as you, right beside you.

“You know, if you wanted me to say anything like that, you just have to tell me.”

“I’m just not used to this.”

“Okay, then let’s settle on a sign.” You straighten your back against the wall.

“If you wanted me to be more yk, then just tug at my shirt. Alright?”

“Alright.” You make things seem so simple.

“Here, let’s try it!” You were INCREDIBLY eager to try out this new system. More expressive Kusuo? Yes please, give me more!

“Now?” It’s worth a try. It could just solve the mystery of my incredibly random power outbreaks. (Luckily you’re patient, because he will be in denial for a LONG time)

Let’s get this over with.

Saiki sighed tugged at the sleeve of your pajamas.

You immediately reacted to this and sat closer to him.

You leaned in a bit closer to his ear, and quietly whispered,

“I love you, Saiki Kusuo”

Every syllable was enunciated clearly. It wasn’t slurred and said sloppily, it was softly sang as if it was only something to be known between the two of you. If it was a love song, it would be Saiki’s favorite.

You gave a short peck on his cheeks and rested your head on his shoulder.

“See, that wasn’t so bad now, was it?”

“I don’t mind it.”

He rested his head on top of yours, enveloped by the warmth and silence the night had to offer.

“Hey, what do you think about going to Cafe Mami tomorrow?” you suggested on a whim.

“I think I owe you Coffee Jelly because of this.”

You really didn’t owe him anything, you just wanted an excuse to give him something. Saiki knows your habit of doing this.

“I think that’s a great idea.” Tomorrow, I think I can finally have a normal day. Hopefully, probably, maybe.

Who am I kidding.

But I don’t think it would be as bad if I’m with you.

You smiled at him and gave him a light chuckle before quietly drifting off to sleep.

Saiki gently carried you back to bed and tucked you in before teleporting back home.

Maybe God is on my side this time. I’m taking this as an apology to my disastrous life.

I'm in my Saiki K phase so I made an attempt at writing a few headcannons! This has been rotting in my mind (and notes...) for a while now SO PLEASE BARE W ME POIUYGFDW Note: The reader in this situation has a germanium bracelet which blocks his telepathy.

Saiki k boyfriend headcannons

- He does secret daily check-ups every time you aren't with him.

- Saiki would use clairvoyance to make sure you get home safely (if he can't walk you home). - He would randomly surprise you with telepathy when you aren’t together, especially when you’re indecisive.

“The beige cardigan, or the pink one? I mean, I do have a ton of pink clothes. Hmm. Should I switch to another color this time?” “The pink one’s nice” “… what the heck. You stalker. But thanks tho! Was leaning towards it! ^^”

- He isn't huge on pda but enjoys your occasional clinginess when it's just the two of you.

- You usually lie down on your bed and rest your legs on top of his lap while he sits down and plays his crappy games.

“Is this alright with you?” “Its fine. I don't mind” "Thanks. Love you too!”

- He usually just nods at the last statement, he isnt big on words of affection (but you know he feels the same way).

- Despite the usual cold expression he gives everyone, he softens his eyes when you’re with him.

- He doesn’t seem to note of the change in his eyes (spoiler alert: his friends do, and start becoming stiff around him— it's rare he changes his glare to a gaze).

- Once in a while though, you remove your bracelet to give him encouraging remarks to him, especially after a long day.

- It makes him happier and feel more appreciated. I mean, you’re probably the only person (among his friends) that loves him for being him, not because he’s Psychic Saiki, but because he’s simply Saiki. Saiki Kusuo.

- He thinks that maybe, JUST MAYBE, helping out isn’t THAT much of a pain.

- He really doesn’t realize how much he has grown as a person ever since you’ve even been in his life.

- You were able to make him realize that he is a good person. It’s because of his powers, but because he is human, and he is not defined by his powers.

- Saiki may think that he is God’s least favorite, but he thinks that perhaps an angel was sent as an apology for his disastrous life. (He will never admit it to you though. Well, maybe when he’s ready to properly express his feelings)

- He’s truly lucky to have you by his side.
