"Why don't we buy a pet?" Suddenly, Marius is wholly aware of where his leather wallet is. "Why would we do that, Lestat? Alternate universe, Armand is a thumb-sized mermaid purchased by Lestat and Marius. Luckily, they quickly learn there might be a way to make him grow back to a human's size. And of course Marius must do it, because it's the right thing to do, while Lestat wants to do it because he wants to finger the mermaid.
