okay i was so shy to actually post this but i've been convinced ! thank you for asking 🥰 its super basic tbh i haven't fleshed it out at all my current hc is that they grew up together in the same orphanage prior to beomseok being adopted. and if they had both been in s2, i imagine baekjin would have seen himself in beomseok a lot, and because of that, plus the orphanage connection, he might have taken him under his wing. on some level for baekjin, i think he'd see it as an opportunity for him to do for someone else, what baku did for him?
