School Additions (Call In Sick + Manually Attend After School Clubs)

I got the idea for calling in sick from the 'mods I wish existed' thread on MTS and the after school club portion was added because I wanted a way to still send my sims even if they attended school using ultimate careers. I hope you all enjoy!

Requirements:

Base Game Compatible. If you don't have EP4, the after school club interactions won't show.

No mod requirements.

Made on version 1.67.

Ultimate Careers Cross-Compatibility:

To accommodate for UC, your sim must phone in sick before 7am. This is regardless of if you're actually using the mod to send your sims to school or not. As long as you have the mod installed, it counts.

If you're using the original Zerbu version instead of the updated version, the 7am deadline still applies but you won't see the greyed out tooltips in-game to remind you of it.

Calling In Sick

Phone Interactions found under 'School' path.

By default: children must ask an older sim to call for them while teens can either ask or call for themselves. This is XML tuneable.

Sim must have either 'sick' or 'fake sick' buffs.

Older household sims can call in for younger sims if they have 'sick' buffs.

School children and teens can try to convince older household members that they need to stay home due to sickness. They don't need to be sick to use this interaction.

Found under Friendly/Ask For School Sick Day

Success depends on the traits and buffs of both sims.

Many of these values can be tuned via. the XML.

See the download page for which buffs count as sick/fake sick.

Attend After School Clubs Manually

Since you can't attend after school clubs unless you've been at school that day, I needed a way to manually send my sims to attend them. (Handy if they've been off sick or if you are using the UC mod for school).

Click on the school within club hours and send your sim to their club.

Conflicts:

This is a pure script mod, so it shouldn't conflict with any other mods.

rotten apple - a gshade preset

hello! here’s the gshade preset i’ve been using for some time now. named after another alice in chains song, rotten apple. the name felt fitting since spooky season is coming up. 🍂🍎

made with gshade 5.1.0.

this preset uses two shaders made by sforz, scroll down to the bottom of this post for instructions on how to add them to your game.

i use even better in game lighting and milk thistle.

i have also included a preset made for create a sim!

instructions on how to add the sforz shaders and textures into your game:

(i have included the shaders and textures folders in the download)

find your GShade Custom Shaders folder, you can search “GShade Custom Shaders” in the windows search bar to find the folder.

take the files from the Shaders folder i have included and drop them into your Shaders folder. it is the exact same process for the textures.

i have also included a ReShadeUI.fxh file, one of the shaders won’t compile (at least for me) unless i have this in my Shaders folder too. i believe it’s because the sforz shaders were made for reshade, so gshade users will need this!

Thrift Store Overhaul

Have you always wanted your Sims to be able to go to the store and purchase clothing items then only after purchasing these clothing items they will be unlocked in CAS? Well, this mod does exactly that!

The Thrift Store Overhaul mod overrides the current Thrift Store that came with the High School Years expansion pack. This mod locks every single clothing item, Accessories, and shoes in game and to unlock the items you’ll have to purchase them at the Thrift Store and only the swatch of the clothing item you bought will be automatically unlocked. The Thrift Store Overhaul mod is currently only accessible for Teens, Young Adult, Adult, and Elders.

DLC: High School Years

This mod uses the XML Injector by SCUMBUMBO.

This mod is an OVERRIDE of the Thrift Store. This means that any other mod that overrides any file of the Thrift Store is NOT compatible!!

There are only a few clothing items that are currently not locked in game. These items have been purposely stayed unlocked so that your Sim can have an outfit when you start a new game. Also, Career outfits, traditional/cultural outfits, costumes, reward outfits, and ripped outfits are not locked.

Known Issues:

Get to Work retail system does not work! However, you can still purchase the outfit that is shown on the mannequin and wear it right away. Then after purchasing this outfit, I’ve added a new interaction: “Purchase a Different Outfit…” what will bring you into the Thrift Store outfit creation mode.

Clothes are not unlocked when you purchase them from another Sim on Trendi. However, you can still resell this outfit and wear the outfit when you click the wear outfit interaction.

If you do not purchase the first swatch of an outfit, you’ll have two thumbnails in game showing the same outfit. One is the original and will have the lock on the thumbnail the second one is the colour swatch you’ve purchased. This is how EA’s system works and not a bug in the mod. This doesn’t cause any issues it’s just annoying to look at.
