so many "are you old enough to remember this" posts fail to realize that if you're poor those technologies were just part of your life for much longer than people in your age group. like, we can make jokes about tv static and windows xp and casette players all we want but the fact of the matter is that my family, as well as many others', kept using "obsolete" technology/programs/whatever when my classmates moved on from nokia bricks to blackberries to whatever the newest smartphone was because we simply couldnt afford to get the newest & shiniest gadget on the market.
