Aveline Ghoulette OC Profile and Ref Sheets

before we get to the lore and ref sheets, I want to pause for a moment to give my thanks to @chase-the-music for creating this artwork as a birthday present for me. I highly suggest if any of you haven’t already, check out their posts and art, because they are very, very, very talented.

anywho, this is the official ref sheets for Aveline, my Ghoulette OC.

the base idea behind her design was to make an owl demon; loosely, she was sort of based off of Stolas and Octavia from Helluva Boss at first, before deciding to go about making it more original. her role in the band was first pyrotechnics, to which formed as rhythm guitar, now lead guitar!

below is going to be a lore dump explaining my canon, post-Terzo. if you wish to read more about this, then continue reading on as you wish!

in my canon, both Terzo and Dewdrop had a close connection with one another, similar to how Copia and Aveline do in a way. as we all well know, Terzo was pulled off stage on September 30th of 2017 - which begun a period of sede vacante within Ghost. within the vacancy, both Dewdrop and Aveline was left in the dark and left to mystery about what exactly happened to the flamboyant kazoo master that was Papa Emeritus III. soon, their questions would be answered in March of 2018, both he, alongside Papa’s I and II were killed by Papa Nihil, Sister Imperator, and the clergy - then embalmed and put on display for the Prequelle tour cycle. Aveline was a bit horrified by the display, admittedly - but Dewdrop was downright offended and angry. In May of 2018, Dewdrop had made the decision to step down from his role and hand his crown down to Aveline as the lead guitarist. This big change left Aveline a bit overwhelmed, but something of a role she could prove herself of overtime. In the beginning, the change for her as lead guitarist was rather controversial. Dewdrop was gone, and the fans that adored him so much could do nothing about it. Slowly, as Aveline’s confidence grew in herself, so did her popularity. And now, her presence is beloved by many. Most of the time, she will be spotted on stage, next to Phantom.

thinking about it again, i’m sure this has been said a lot but Iowa and its whole era, 2001 in general, was just.. such a dark year for everything it seems. Iowa is such an interesting album in the sense of like.. where all the bandmates of Slipknot were during its recording. seeing Corey Taylor practically hurting himself and forcing out the most painful, inhumane screams for Gently that just shows how fucked up his mental state was, even doing worse than that with the title track itself. what i find interesting though, considering recently A LOT of recorded footages of pre-show and shows we’ve never seen before have been released on Youtube, one thing that interested me the most was finding that half of People = Shit was made back in 2000 while they were still on their debut self titled albums tour cycle. but i really wonder how the mental state of everyone was during Iowa just due to the fact half of the time, the bandmates fucking hated each other & either or were drunk or high as fuck for a lot of that year. my minds still a little bit fuzzy on the details because i did this deep dive back in March, but key things I remember are just.. everything that happened to Corey, Joey I believe was worried that Slipknot may break up, Mick was very much against all of the alcohol and drugs & practically spent a lot of his time gaming and practicing while the other bandmates went and partied. i won’t swear to it either but i think a lot of the bandmates were separated during the recording process for Iowa as it is. i may have to take another deep dive in and try to relearn any details i might’ve forgot.

i know most of us are eagerly awaiting for Long May You Die to come out, but to be honest.. i wonder how a full fledged album now with Eloy in the Slipknot crew would sound. if i remember correctly, Shawn aka The Clown said that LMYD is going to sound similar to something right out of Iowa, which of course would be exciting considering most of all Slipknot fans love the album Iowa the most - but I wonder.. what kind of sound could the band capture now with Eloy here? would Slipknot sound similar to their ST/Iowa roots again? i know that it’s gonna be quite awhile before LMYD comes out considering that their on the 25th anniversary tour and that most likely the song would take away from it, but it’s still so intriguing to think about. really can’t wait to hear what Slipknot has next!

Heya - so this is my third blog so far; this one is going to be specifically centered around music. I’ll likely repost shit centered around Slipknot, Ghost, Korn, Fear Factory, and Dream Theater. I’ll probably sprinkle in some other shit too.

This is my music specific blog though, my other two are as follows;

@dontsayiexist is my main, where I repost and post everything - it’s mainly Saints Row centered still though, at the moment.

@agentteacup is my Kinzie Kensington rp blog, if you wanna send asks and whatnot. Bear in mind that this *is* centered around how I portray her, it likely won’t be canon accurate.
