I suck at marketing...
I’m just going to own it. This is something I have always struggled with for as long as I’ve been doing this. I dread posting about the pieces I have available because I’m not a strong salesman.
…And then there’s the motherfuckers at Squishable. I bought my partner one of their plague doctor squishmallows from their website like a couple of months ago. One. In the singular tense.
I have gotten daily “squishable news” emails since.
Daily. News. About Squishmallows. Without fail.
I understand that they probably have a dedicated person who specializes in marketing to concoct these emails, but I admit some level of incredulity as to how much newsworthy press could be dreamed up about Squishmallows to warrant unflinching daily reports.
I’m totally envious of this skillset, so please don’t mistake this for hate. In every sales job I ever had I have never been a strong performer because I simply don’t know how to bullshit people into needing things that they really don’t. I wish I did. I feel like I’m being annoying just posting about the pieces I have up for grabs, and I definitely don’t post daily…

I don't normally take on pet portraits, but I definitely had to make an exception for this one. Cyrus the Orange passed recently and his human contacted me about creating a piece for him and gave me a lot of creative latitude to run with. When you're presented with the opportunity to memorialize an orange cat, there's really only one logical (and iconic!) theme...
