I will forever address this quote. Because JK Rowling saying that witches and wizards care more about magical power than skin color is bullshit to the core. When I first read this line, I was confused and hurt. Let me backtrack for my followers who don't know I am a black woman. I am a woman of color. I went to predominantly black schools through my elementary and highschool career. My fourth grade teacher introduced me to the world of Harry Potter. Her name was Ms. Englert, she bought each of us our very own copy of the Philospher Stone and there were thirty-eight of us. Some parents thought it wasn't proper reading material. Hell we didn't care, this was exciting. My mom continued to buy me each copy.

Angelina is my girl. I connected with. Angelina more so than Hermione. I wore braids throughout elementary and middle school. Angie was an athlete and so am I. She played quidditch and I played basketball and was on the swim team. I wondered what style of braids did she wear? Did she and Alicia help braid each others hair the night before a game? I had so many questions.
