Well friggun said!
Before I start getting into the meat and potatoes of this post, let me state one thing at the outset: Blair and I will be hosting (along w/ some of your other fave peeps) Microsoft’s E3 coverage. Keep in mind however, that I truthfully have only as much info on what’s going down as you do. This...

  Video Recap –
There won’t be a recap of what videos have been uploaded as I just haven’t had a chance to record, edit or upload anything, well I have, but I fully blame Ni No Kuni. Fantastic JRPG, have I mentioned that yet?
I was however a part of a Q&A session with the ladies of the GMG Network. We all got together on a Google Hangout and answered just about every question thrown at us. It was a lot of fun and we ended up having quite a few fantastic discussions.
If you missed that and are interested in seeing what I and the ladies of the GMG Network opinions are on various gaming topics, feel free to give it a watch. Make sure to Like it and leave a comment if you want to see us do that more often too!
  In Writing –
At times I’m not really interested in watching a video, I’d much rather just read the information. Weird, I know, but I think quite a few people share this feeling with me. I see a link leading to interesting information and bam, there is a video with absolutely nothing to explain in writing what is talked over in the video. Me being a complete jackass sometimes, I’ll stop and think, “Gah! I don’t feel like listening to this person talk right now, but I want to know!”
So, I’ve come to a solution when it comes to my videos and utilizing my Tumblr more! Of course on a weekly basis the Vlog will be up in video form on the channel, but wait, there’s more. I’ll also be doing what shall hence forth be known as Vidja Gamez Blogz over on Tumblr. Everything in the Vlog shall be in writing, so when you have a day where you think, “Oh man, I want to know what’s going on with Krysten, but I don’t want to listen to her!” Well guess what, I just found you a solution! You’re welcome!
Not only will I be doing this with the Vlog, but any other video where it can apply such as Reviews, First Impressions, etc.
  Whatcha Playing? –
Ni No Kuni – Wrath of the White Witch –
Let me tell you, if you stick it out through the lack of story and long tutorials at the beginning of this game you’ll absolutely love the character development and the overall way this game plays once the game gets settled in. I’m currently 32 hours in and just achieved a sweet form of transportation, that’s right people, upgrading from the boat. Whenever I get a chance and I’m not absolutely exhausted from the day I’ll cram another hour or two in.
  Gotham City Impostors –
I went to play this… And then I didn’t. I did however play around with my load out in preparation to play a couple matches in the future. This was on my PS3, I keep forgetting this game is free to play on PC (via Steam) as well and definitely want to give it a try over there as well.

Craig's Story.
He was a quiet guy. The type of guy you pictured one day taking a gun out and going on a shooting rampage. He never spoke, just came to the gym in his dull, dingy attire and quietly lifted. From what I saw he was a forty something year old guy, who was overweight and worked out somewhat to keep in shape. Although he never bothered anyone I noticed that he was the butt of many insults and jokes in the gym, most the members had given him the name ‘Pigpen’ since no one seemed to know his real name and he never conversed with the members of the gym.
He was quite simply an enigma in the gym.

I must have been 11 when my mom went out and purchased the first PC we ever owned. I can't even remember the specifics of it, but one thing I do remember are the games we played on that thing. My mom was quite the fan of the horror, puzzle type games.  So as you probably have already guessed we had games like The 7th Guest and Phantasmagoria. Countless nights were spent sitting on one of the kitchen chairs behind my mom as she played these games, we would both jump, scream, even yell at the computer screen in hopes some how the fictional character would hear us and run away.  There is nothing creepier to me till this day than the image of the ghostly women who beckoned me down the hall as I entered the basement in The 7th Guest. For lack of a better way to say it, she scared the CRAP out of me, I couldn't even watch because she terrified me so much. Oddly enough though, I kept going down in to that basement, every time I replayed the game, no matter how much it scared me, I was going.  So of course here I am, 26 years old and one genre that is an undeniable favorite of mine when gaming is survival horror. Anything in general that can get a terrified rise out of me, I have to play it. Amnesia, Fatal Frame, Clock Tower, Resident Evil, Slender, Condemned, Sanitarium, Doom, etc.  It's funny though, playing Slender: The Eight Pages I can't help but ask myself, "Why am I doing this?" I'm frightened out of my mind, I'm sweating, I can't even bring myself to turn my character around to make sure Slenderman isn't on my heels. Heck, I can't even bring myself to turn my chair around, he could be right behind me watching as I play!  Maybe I enjoy being scared? Or just being relieved knowing I've gotten past the worst and I can go forth like a champion. Maybe I'll keep asking myself this question without any real answer. So, fellow fans of making yourself poop your own pants! Why do you do it!

It's that time of the week again! (No, not that time of the month, jeez.) It is Monday and I like to give you guys a nice recap video on what's been uploaded to the channel, what I've been up to and what I've been playing.
It gives us that special time to catch up and gives you that one stop shop in order to catch any videos you may have missed. Don't forget to go down in to the comments though and talk about anything you want. Remember! I like chit chatting with you guys, interacting, being the bestest friends ever. Yes, I'm very aware that bestest is not a word, but that's our little secret.

Learning the Hard Way - Podcast Editing
Most of you hopefully know already, I'm a part of a podcast, the +4 XP Podcast. At the moment it's just the three of us ladies going over various news items from the gaming industry and providing our thoughts and opinions on the topics. It's loads of fun and something I've always wanted to do, not to mention it's proving to be quite helpful for me to be outspoken, I'm quite shy.
So I was provided the opportunity this weekend to edit the podcast, I gladly accepted, I love challenges, I love learning, you never know when stopping to learn something is going to come in handy eventually. It's almost my downfall as I'm super detailed, I want to know the reason why behind every action in the process.
I began my morning around 8:00 AM and downloaded a free program, Audacity. Upon opening I immediately threw in the MP3 file and began looking at my options, in absolute confusion of course. Every time I ran in to a minor issue I eventually over came and was able to move on from the small bit of congratulatory satisfaction I received from figuring it out. Haha! I bested you Audacity!
Oh no, it was quickly apparent I was not the winner in this war between Audacity and I. I came upon the issue of splitting and moving that now split half of the file to a later point in time. I tried everything I could think of! The darn thing kept merging itself back to the first half of the clip, it would end up moving the entire clip even though I had only selected the second half. I was slowly descending in to madness.  You know, that touch of crazy with a hint of extreme anger?
I had checked the two video editing programs I use to see if they would allow me to use the things that I'm already familiar with when creating my YouTube videos. Nope, neither one allowed me to export to MP3 and one wouldn't even allow me to edit without a video file even being there.
I finally text the co-host who normally edits the podcast, "What program do you use to edit the podcast?" After texting back and forth it was obvious, I did not have the tools I needed.  She suggested I use the free trial of Avid, see how I feel about the program and that it should easily allow me to edit. I'm currently 22 minutes away from the download being complete and it's now 10:00 AM.
Have to admit, writing this and taking a minute to think over the past two hours, it's pretty funny. Another one of my downfalls reared it's ugly head, once I become ultimately frustrated with something, I want to flip a desk and never look it in the face ever again. Horrible right? You can't just quit and give up entirely because you didn't get your way.
I was about ready to throw editing the podcast out the window entirely because a little program called Audacity decided it was going to be difficult with me. Oh Krysten!
I guess I'm writing this out to share a little insight, what happens from time to time behind the scenes of the various forms of entertainment that is the end result you enjoy. You can now listen to the Tuesday episode on the 4th and chuckle to yourself, "Man, Krysten almost sent herself to the loony bin trying to edit this episode."
If you'll excuse me now, I must go take a shower, make some coffee and uninstall Audacity from my PC. Never again Audacity! Never! I'll chalk this one up as win!

Here's to the beginning of hopefully many custom map adventures in Minecraft! This one in particular is Home Tree, I'm the last of my kind as my fellow tree people were sadly killed in the blast. (Avatar anyone?)
I must fight to survive this terrible situation I'm in, I must grow food, create shelter and possibly locate the fabled Hero's Vault!
Definitely something I'm very excited to work on as I'm a HUGE fan of Minecraft.

It was suggested to me and I was sold on the idea by one of the lovely ladies in a Gamer Girl group that I am a part of. SCP-087 is the game I played today and the game you're about to watch me experience.  I definitely got a little nervous and even startled while playing. After a little research too I found that I could go further, who knows, maybe I'll give it another go.
Next on my list is SCP-087B which I heard was much scarier, you know me, the scarier, the better!
SCP-087: The Stairwell was developed by Haversine (http://www.youtube.com/user/haversine/feed)

I need a place for words!
The subject of this post really says it all! I need a place for written reviews, for my thoughts on various gaming news items that would turn in to an absurdly long 30 minute video on YouTube. I wouldn't even stay on track to be honest, I'd wander in to 10 different topics.
I'm sure if you're reading this you already know who I am and what I do, but just in case, I'll provide a quick explanation.
I have a YouTube Channel devoted to all things gaming, in the past I've provided reviews, I show off gameplay of games I'm currently playing and at times ramble off on my opinion or excitement over a game. This channel of mine is called Vidja Gamez, feel free to check it out and possibly subscribe if you like what you see.
http://www.youtube.com/user/VidjaGamez?feature=mhee
Gaming has always been a huge passion in my life, I write this statement while playing Pokemon Pearl and uploading a video of the indie game SCP-087: The Stairwell. (Bet your butt I got scared while playing!) Right after this I plan on playing some Survival maps in Minecraft, and recording of course.
Don't you worry though, it won't always just be words. At times there will be pictures and videos, might not always be related to gaming but I won't wander too far, promise. <3
