The news was full of it. The sirens never stopped since it happened. The next AV flying over to the burning place, once the Arasaka Tower.

Now only ash and crumbles. And so many dead bodies underneath, around. The news was so very full of the attack, of Johnny's message he spread all over Nightcity.

Kerry turned from the window of the apartment he shared for years with Johnny. Gladly it was far enough from the city center to not be in a problematic spot right now. But still. Johnny was at the Assault of the Tower. But since the explosions were audible through the whole city, he didn’t hear from his bandmate.

“Come on J, pick up you fucking asshole.” Kerry dialed his number once more, hoping to hear his voice on the other end. To see him declining the call. Anything, something to show he was still there. The phone just kept ringing, and Kerry couldn’t just stop trying it.

“You cannot be gone.” Kerry ended the call and punched the wall in front of him without much force. Gulping down and trying to hold back his tears. No, not Johnny. Johnny was better than them, better than the corpos. Johnny must have survived whatever happened there. Probably he was just fucking Rogue, or whatever.

The buzz of his phone almost made him jump, hastily he took a look at it, hoping it would be a message from Johnny. But it was from Rogue.

Kerry, you still up?

Of course I am! What the fuck happened?

It all went south. Johnny. wont come back. Sorry, not much time, gonna need to hide for a while. I’ll explain it later to you.

No. This couldn’t be. The first tears dropped on his phone while he read the message over and over again. Johnny had to come back. Johnny always came back.

Don’t lie to me! He always came back!

He threw the phone on the couch and sat down on the edge of the bed, picking up the dogtags of Johnny which were laying on their Nightstand. He fumbled around with them, trying to keep a rest of hope that Johnny would return. “You cannot leave me alone…” He whispered to himself, the tears flowing freely down his cheeks making his makeup a total mess, dropping onto the dogtags in his hands. “You were always at my side. Please, Johnny. I-I cannot.”
