Wait a minute, aren't wetlands an important part of america's natural ecosystem? I seem to recall that some of the united states' best farmland was created by destroying wetlands, leading to floods and erosion. So when the president uses the catchphrase "drain the swamp," it mirrors colonialist rhetoric?

Rest = Lying Down, Eyes Closed Because other parts of the program from England made sense, I decided to try resting every afternoon. After some experimentation, I determined that the most restorative rest resulted from lying down in a quiet place with my eyes closed. I was surprised at the results from taking a 15-minute rest in mid-afternoon. Even that short break seemed to help, reducing my symptoms, increasing my stamina and making my life more stable. After a while I added a similar rest in late morning. Over time, I came to believe that my scheduled rest was the most important strategy I used in my recovery. Resting everyday according to a fixed schedule, not just when I felt sick or tired, was part of a shift from living in response to symptoms to living a planned life. The experience showed me that rest could be used for more than recovering from doing too much; it could be employed as a preventive measure as well. In the terms suggested by someone in our self-help program, I learned the difference between recuperative rest and pre-emptive rest. Surprisingly, taking pre-emptive rests greatly reduced the time I spent in recuperative rest, because I was experiencing much less Post-Exertional Malaise. The result was that my total rest time was reduced.
sometimes like an idiot i assume everyone has read bruce campbell on resting/pacing to handle post-exertional malaise affiliated with chronic fatigue. that is obviously not true! anyway here's the hot guide, i linked straight to the "schedule in mandatory complete 15 min rest as part of your day and hopefully you will get to do less surprise many hours of rest to recover" section but the whole thing is laid out pretty clearly

Etymology Corner
You might know that NOMAP was coined to try to avoid the stigma of MAP. "Surely if we specify that we are non-offending," the nomaps said, "people will stop hating us."
Of course MAP, meaning "minor-attracted person," was coined by a therapist to try to avoid the stigma behind pedophile. And you'll never guess what I learned today. Okay, maybe you already guessed it.
That's right! Pedophile was coined to try to escape stigma - the stigma behind the word pederast. These words come from ancient Greek: pede- connotes youth. The Greeks had several words for love: -erast came from eros, meaning erotic love. -philia is a love word describing friendship, affection, and kindness. Friendship and affection for children. Kindness to children. It's a shame, isn't it? It could have been such a pretty word.

We teach the controversy!
viewpoint 1: come on, it says right on the tube: "Don't put this cream on your penis."
viewpoint 2: like dr. kellogg and his corn flakes, like dr. graham and his crackers, so too do the makers of benadryl extra-strength anti-itch cream want to deny you the wonders of masturbation!

You hate to see it. Someone says, “I used to be racist, here’s how I deconstructed it.” And fifty “anti-racists” jump on them and say, “Shut up! You should never admit that you were racist in the first place!” Like are you stupid?

just seen a comment reference the “Vegas nerve.” Haha, what happens in the vagus nerve, stays in the vagus nerve. You could say it keeps the score.

we have two chairs in the office. when she’s home alone she prefers this chair. It is softer and warmer. I prefer the other chair because the soft one hurts my back. but as soon as I get up, booboo is going to steal my chair to try to stop me from playing noita! that is because she is a hater.
booboo hates noita! this morning she was taking a sweet little nap, and when I turbed the game on she sat up and just glared at the screen/me

(noita game) I really want a 5-streak before the summer ends. I have a 3-streak right now.
note: “shifting” is a random global transmutation of one material into another. you get to pick one of the materials, but you don’t control whether it will be the source or the destination!
game 1 I shifted sludge and poison to ambrosia, which was awesome and made the poison shooters in the jungle really funny. so i started chasing that high.
game 2 i shifted lava to sludge, which was pretty good, because i could turn the lava lakes into water. I also shifted smoke to sludge, which made the vault really tricky.
game 3 i almost died from shifting sludge to lava! the slimeball enemies were terrifying. it worked out though because i found the lava to blood spell and put it on a wand with always-cast circle of vigor.

last night i dreamt i was watching the proceedings of a municipal council. some highlights:
Old man says, “this is my wobbly red die” and puts a six-sided die on the table. My grandma cries out, exasperated: “Not the wobbly red die!”
A young woman is giving her story when a councilman interrupts her. “I think we all know how this story goes. The single daughter gave up her precious red pearl…” The whole assembly responds in unison: “To get started on her welfare!”
After the assembly I skateboarded and flew around the city for a while. The wind was choppy and it was difficult to maintain altitude.

The local Vox party posted on X: “Thanks to Vox the first measure to ban Islamic festivals in Spain’s public spaces has been passed. Spain is and will be forever the land of Christian people.”
those of you who know spain’s history should be moderately concerned right now…

trying to find your blog today, I typed “ye” in the search bar, then deleted the “e”.
Tumblr helpfully suggested “older man and younger girl”.
I’m getting mixed signals?
I see tumblr is doing its thing and censored the article about the mermaid statue
