Rotating Feng Xin backstory thoughts in my head

That’s so fucking sad! Can you imagine if like he’s sees his mothers (maybe a wandering spirit or ghost. I honestly can’t imagine they were able to move on considering they died violently, not knowing if their child was safe, probably really fucking pissed. All perfect qualities to make a ghost.) and they call him by his real name and…..he doesn’t recognize it. He feels only a faint familiarity but not true recognition. Can you imagine the horror and heartbreak they would feel? And unending rage?

Everytime I think about this plot line (that I schemed and designed and wrote) i get so fucking sad.

I do definitely think his mothes could reunite with him as ghosts. They'd both have enough (deserved) anger and resentment towards Xianle. And additionally, since they'd probably be from a different ghost realm (or a different part of it?) they might not even need to follow those rules.

I think if I were to ever actually write a fic about Feng Xin trying to find out more about his past, having him get to reunite with his moms would be very important. And all the tragedy that would come with him not fully recognizing his own name
