Karabash Désange | new OC

Karabash, also called the Rat Whisperer, is a scrawny necromancer with a hatred for upper class society. Other people often find him rude or intimidating due to his direct bluntness and his permanently annoyed look. He thinks sleep or healthy food is overrated and is only invested in his studies and his craft.

Being raised and having to live in the filthy underground of the city, he learned to be very resourceful from a young age.

The only companionship he found in his early years were from the thriving rat population, which he quickly befriended and learned to use for his own good. With their help, he stole whatever he needed to survive. That way, he also came into his first contact with magic, when they brought him a rare, cursed spellbook. Since that fateful day, he concentrated only on his studies of the arcane and became a infamous necromancer. He learned his craft by practising his spells on strangers or himself. Due to his naivety and lack of understanding in his early studies, he accidentally sacrificed his left eye for more power. For a living, he brings back loved ones or their pets as undead beings, in exchange for some coin.

Karabash is very pessimistic and morally grey but has a prominent dry humor. He likes to rile people up and use his words like blades. He would gladly ram a knife in your back, if he deems it necessary to survive or advance in his goals. He may look and act like he would let you die in a ditch, and often, that is just the case. But surprisingly, he is a softie inside - if you manage to break through his walls and become his friend. For strangers, he wouldn't ever do any favors out of his heart, and if he does, he definitely has ulterior motives in mind.

Due to his harsh childhood, Karabash has taken a liking to luxury and sure as hell acts like it. He tends to hoard expensive things he stole with the help of his rats and loves living lavishly. That also shows in his clothing style. He takes care of his belongings very well and makes sure he always looks magnificent. But that also means he has a profound fear of losing what little wealth he has and having to live through hunger and misery again. He also fears intimacy and letting people into his life, he only ever trusts his rats.

He has a little cursed (lab) rat companion called Nickle, which he saved from an underground lab. Nickle is able to speak due to the experiments and acts as his moral compass. If he ever strays too much from his paths or becomes too self-destructive, Nickel is always there to guide him back and look after him.

(anyways I had a lot of fun with him haha, I want to develop him some more in the future)

"Now I fixed it"

More mouthwashing fanart! I was inspired by the historical painting "the death of Marat" by Jacques-Louis David, since it's all about sacrifice and being seen as a martyr. Jimbalaya sees himself as a saviour, or at least thinks he fixed everything and "saved" curly, I thought it might be fun to paint this from his twisted perspective.

(although I have to say it physically brought me pain to depict him like this and draw him more... Heroic I guess? Fuck him)

Splitting migraine |

Doing some vent art again finally. I spent so much time on university assignments, that I forgot how it feels like to just draw for myself. Not for a commission, no fanart - just for me. Feels pretty good if I'm honest, to just vomit everything I'm feeling inside onto a canvas.

Some character design!

It started first as a style study, because I just adore the way disco elysium characters are drawn. Then I tried applying it to a character and I gotta say, I'm decently happy with it?? Found some brushes I'm pretty happy with for now, and even though that way of drawing takes way longer than what I'm used, I really like it!

I gotta write down some more infos on her when I get time, I'm so bad with character descriptions and back stories. But I was going for some kind of upcoming B-tier movie star with financial issues :)

Uhm...

So I saw sonic 3 with some of my friends and feel emotional whiplash like I never had in my entire life.

Like what the fuck.

This was probably the most funny and enjoyable movie experience I've ever had??

Also these two dorks are adorable. And I enjoy every single second these two are on screen.

I feel my heavy teen obsession with sonic and the entire franchise returning, which is kinda worrisome?? Wish me luck, I think I'll need it .__.
