Similar to the last, this is my "Video Games That Defined Me Before The Age Of 14". I think. The release dates might be off for some of these. These are less the games that I played or enjoyed the most (although I enjoyed the SHIT out of them), and more the titles shaped my perspective of how games should be made. A personal bar, if you will, that set a standard with which I approach all games to this day.

So a friend of mine and another friend of mine did this nifty mosaic project where they compiled the "Movies That Define Me", and I decided that I just HAD to have one. So here it is...though I've changed it to "Movies That Defined Me Before The Age Of 14", in an effort to narrow the list. These are films that more or less shaped me to be the youngster that I was, in no particular order. Made using http://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php

Reality Check
I recently stumbled upon an article which talks about a few rumors going around regarding the new Microsoft console; chief among them being a "no used games" system. The word is that Microsoft will be employing a sort of pass code system, or something like it, in order to stomp out the game trading industries like GameStop and EB Games. This is, however, only a rumor. The real reason I'm bringing this up is because of the reactions I'm seeing. A lot of people are complaining about how they're "not going to buy the new console", or "start buying alternatives" like GameCube and other older systems. This is ridiculous.
Let me be clear: The idea of boycotting a bastardized industry by refusing to use their service is NOT ridiculous. The fact that you WILL NOT makes me chuckle. Today's consumers are spoiled and fattened by cheap marketing gimmicks and cash-cow games with half-assed sequels and DLC. We are addicted. We are at their beck and call. Anything they throw at us, we will consume...and they know it. It's why this rumor is possibly truth, and it's also why the video game corporations are going to thrive in the coming years. You won't be able to "stick it to the man". but the option of finding new pastimes is always available. Do it. I dare you.
