He had to admit he had wanted to talk to her too, he always did. How could he resist? His brows furrowed briefly before his features softened, and he turned his attention to the bourbon, pouring the amber liquid into his glass with practiced ease.

“You’ve captured my attention,” he said smoothly, giving her a slight nod of approval as he filled the glass. His tone was casual, but his curiosity was evident beneath it. He held up the bottle, raising an eyebrow. “Want one?”
