The Trade | Katya & Daniel
Daniel Wright was either becoming more trusting by the day or more careless…but given that he had not heard from this particular Mer since the party and the fact that she happened to be one of the few, if not the only decent one he knew..tonight this scout had ventured out anyway. He had driven to the exact spot and parked, before rolling down the window.
But it wasn’t enough..so he soon got out of the vehicle, walking up to lightly rest against the front. It was then, between him checking one of Cardelle’s messages and thinking that he should have grabbed an actual jacket, that the scout heard the familiar heels coming his way, his heart embarassingly skipping a beat.
@vlkyriescall
Katya was becoming rather good at finding convenient excuses to avoid being in the Forgotten, if you asked her the last few weeks were all about training and doing as Saylor wished but it had been a welcome escape from everything, the private drama with the Royals wasn’t something she had ever wanted to be particularly involved in and somehow she had ended up both right in the middle and completely on the outside all at once. It was tiring. So she had found any and all reason as soon as she had got back to get on land, Daniel was definitely one of the most appealing. They had set up a place to meet, enough out of the way that she wasn’t easily watched by other mers and without causing issues with the other species - Katya didn’t feel like that fight. They wanted medical supplies and she had found it easy to help supply, a few sweet words in the right ears and it had been done, all that was left was to deliver on her promise. As she got closer she saw the car, window rolled down as he got out and perched on the front instead, the guards smirk started to tug at the corner of her ruby red lips, “Careful, handsome, you never know who you might meet in the dark like this.”

It had been weeks, weeks since she had last surfaced here, weeks since she had walked on the rocks that had called her home so many times but for the first time in those weeks she felt a calm washing over her like the waves on the land, slender body tucked into the outer rocks - a place she frequented often when she felt the desire to surface without straying too far. Katya hadn’t expected company, even the Gatekeepers and the other guards knew to leave her well enough alone when she was out here, it was far enough away from the gate anyway, the quiet of the waves and the few creatures who used both the land and ocean as their home the only things to disturb her. That was until something, no someone else’s feet made the rocks shift, her head snapping up at the sound before her eyes met with a sight she certainly hadn’t expected. “Bram...” Her breath caught for a moment, quickly realising why he was strolling the cave naked to start with, but Katya didn’t hide the way her gaze followed his body, smirk turning up the corner of her lip as she set her book down and sat up once more. “I don’t know, seeing you like this is hardly a low for me.” She teased but her eyes met his once more, frowning just a little as she caught his gaze, “You’re the one in my territory this time, I suppose I should ask why he would bring you here?”

He didn’t realize where he was, in his wolf form he just went where his wolf took him. It’s only been a few weeks since turning but Bram was loving this new life of his. Enjoying the power, speed, thought process that came with it. So much of what he did in wolf form was just instinct, as natural as breathing and he was enjoying himself. So much so that sometimes he run for hours and wake up a few hours later. Naked but it felt so good. Apparently his wolf liked this area cause he often found himself waking up here specifically . Something familiar about this place but he couldn’t remember. It was right there on the edge , but he couldn’t recall why this place felt so familiar. He moved towards the mouth a a cave, a duffel bag he placed there still hidden away and out of sight. He grabbed it when he heard something. A twig snap or a rock falling over the other. Then the scent came – he was still getting use to this as well– it, just like this place seemed familiar and he didn’t know why. Until he turned to see that woman again and it all fell into place. Bram didn’t bother covering his body, eyeing her suspiciously, “So you really do make it a habit of spying on people don’t you.” he said giving a little shake of his head. “ We gotta stop meeting like this Katya.”

If he gave into Katya every time the words ‘make me’ came from her lips, he was sure that they would never, ever leave the bedroom. Instead he gave her a knowing grin, and laughed softly, “C’mon now, little guard. Don’t make me show you up in front of all these people.” He ordered for them, getting them a drink each as well as a shot; passing Kat hers, he held his up in a cheers before drinking it. “Oh cliché is it?” Kon chuckled again as he put the shot glass down, glancing at the party happening around them. Moving closer so that their bodies were pressed together, his hand teased its way down her body, dipping just underneath the waistband of her very short shorts. “Careful, Kat. I could make you come undone right here in front of all these people with nothing but my fingers.” He spoke into her ear before he pulled his hand away from her, taking a step back and grabbing his drink. “But that’s exactly what you want, right?” He knew her, better than she knew herself half the time.
It was an empty threat and they both knew it, her favourite phrase was ‘make me’ whether inside the bedroom or not, it was also her favourite way of letting him squirm just a bit when they were stood being respectable guards during important things, finding a way she could whisper it to him when he told her off for fidgeting with her knives. But that was there and this was a very different public situation, Katya couldn’t remember the last time they had done this - she thought of Saylors wedding but quickly shook that thought from her brain, now was not the time to think of princes.
She made to speak, to sass him about how he wouldn’t dare - his reputation was more fragile and important than hers and she played on that often - with permission of course, but the moment she had taken her shot and tried to open her mouth he crowded her space, fingertips pressing in to her skin and the guard almost choked on the tequila she was still attempting to swallow. Even still she couldn’t let him win, not entirely so as the shiver ran down her spine from his words and actions, as he stepped back as if nothing could happen she straightened herself up a bit, trying to hide the shock from her face as her smirk returned, “Not my name.” She started with - there were only two men (three now if she counted Josiah calling her Katerina) who could get away with calling her Kat and he loved to abuse that privilege. “Also speaking pretty highly of your skills, not so sure you’d be able to rise to the challenge.” It was so cheesy and Katya hated herself for putting emphasis on the joke but it was also too easy to make, staying close enough that her own fingertips wandered, nails sharp as her daggers leaving soft red lines over his abs that faded just as quickly as she had put them there, “Buy me another drink and it might be worth the risk?”

Daniel stumbled into the dance floor but held firmly onto Katya, relying on her not to look like a complete fool. At least the crowd seemed big enough..maybe he’d even avoid the weird looks from Cardelle and the others..but enough of that. The scout squeezed Kayta’s hand and let his thumb skim over the back of it, “Didn’t think you’d miss me..” he chuckled, giving her the appreciation she needed with a quick once over. Alright, this was gonna prove difficult. “..you…” his words came out a bit delayed, “..might have to teach me.” All he did for now was to step a bit closer, careful not to step on her feet already, and smiled as if to prove he wasn’t half as tipsy as he was.
She tried not to laugh, it wasn’t aimed at him really more so the situation, this definitely wasn’t something she expected to ever be doing with him. It was clear he had had a few drinks, perhaps one too many as despite her buzz Katya was still pretty steady on her heels Daniel looked a little clumsy. “Teach you? Cmon, this isn’t a waltz Daniel, just...don’t think and instead enjoy yourself.” It was hardly dancing, her hips moving to the beat and pressing closer to him, fingers pushing loose hair off her face as she warmed up once more with the people around them and perhaps her closeness to him. “You seem distracted...am I making you nervous?”

the mer flashed her a cheeky grin; a little too proud of himself, when the other man walked away rather startled. josiah wasn’t a violent person, but he knew how to act like one. he was good at mimicking emotions that he rarely felt; his gaze had always been intimidating enough to pull it off. his smile faltered when she mentioned the years apart. was that supposed to be a joke? ouch. his hand found the left side of his chest; the hurt quickly being covered under a layer of sheer sarcasm, “don’t wound me so. you might not remember, but we did have a good 14 years together.” he spoke, before taking a sip of his drink; bluntly spilling another rather sarcastic remark, after that, “all in all - 400 years and still counting.” lips curled into an all knowing smirk,
“oh no, just the ones i don’t approve of.” which truly was 110% of the people in this place “have you seen saylor?” he asked quietly, almost just mouthing the words; eyes scanning the bar.
There was a familiarity in his smirk that caught her off guard for a moment, how many times had she seen that exact same look when giving Kon sass or when she finally persuaded Saylor to go out with her? It was a little eerie, how much she had clearly missed that they shared. “14 years? I was a kid, unless you were chasing off guppies I don’t think it counts.” Her smile stayed despite her sass toward him, shaking her head with a sigh. “And who gets approval? Cause I would like to have at least a little fun before you chase them all away.” His words didn’t escape her however, quiet as they were she had been expecting them, she hadn’t pried too much into that whole mess, preferring not to deal with more mer-drama but she knew one thing at least - Josiah was completely smitten. “I dragged her here, so yes, I’ve seen her. If you’re asking her whereabouts right now? Not entirely sure.” Perhaps she should know, she was her primary guard after all, but she had hoped Saylor would find her own fun here. “This is your little sister warning - she looks damn good, like I wish I could claim credit good - so try not to leave drool on the floor when you do see her.”

“O-ho, careful little guard.” Kondor smirked as he looked at her, hand darting out to grab her by the chin as he leaned in closer. “Or you’ll be spending half of this party fucking in the bathroom, and the other half begging me to do it again.” He teased as he captured her lips roughly, nibbling on her lower lip as he pulled away and tugged her towards the bar. “Tequila?”
Katya only fought his grip a little, her smirk growing as he spoke to her, teeth catching her bottom lip to stop the grin from growing bigger, that wouldn’t help her case at all. “Make me.” She broke the hold and her smile grew, leaning in to the way he held her. His kiss, however, took her by surprise, barely registering before he tugged on her hand again. All the guard could do was nod and follow, still a little stunned by his actions, perhaps this party really was a good idea after all. She stood by his side, quiet for a moment, waiting for him to order their shots before leaning in to him a bit more, “Would be a shame to miss the party though and a bathroom fuck? So cliché.”

Daniel didn’t typically attend parties and yet, this year..he seemed to have been pushed into two major events already. Not that this could be called major, especially with what he had seen people do so far, but even he was a little tipsy himself..telling himself that he was keeping an eye on his fellow humans after all. Well, screw that –the second that the brunette bumped into him, cocktail in hand, Wright might as well forgotten all of it for a moment. “..K-katya, hi!” he chuckled, blinking a bit as he looked at her better..and heard her proposition. Wait. Should he say yes? To dancing? Daniel didn’t exactly know how to..but suddenly, his body made the decision for him, hand clasping around hers. “..shit, why not..” he shrugged, muttering the next part to himself: “..what the hell am I doing..”
She hadn’t really looked at who she had bumped into, truth be told she didn’t care, but the way Daniel seemed flustered when he saw her made her grin grow, teeth biting into her lower lip as she tilted her head waiting for a response. Of course he said yes and she jumped at the chance, sticking close to him as she pulled him more into the crowd, “You, Mr Wright, are dancing with me. Because I haven’t seen you in forever!” Katya smirked, knowing he hadn’t meant for her to hear his words, “Besides, I got all dressed down and someone has to appreciate it.”

“I have to admit, it feels good to let loose, doesn’t it?” Kondor smiled widely, a laugh leaving his lips. He wasn’t too drunk yet, and he hadn’t even taken any pills but he had a light buzz and it was enough to make him feel good. It was enough to have him forget the pain he had been through recently. “I do definitely need more, though. You wanna get another drink before we dance? I think it’s in your best interest if you’re wanting to dance the night away with me because I’ll get more fluid and less stiff with each drink down my throat.” Kon pointed out, already glancing towards the bar and wondering just what concoctions they had up for grabs.
She nodded enthusiastically, that almost childlike grin that only he seemed to ever be able to pull from her growing as she kept her hand in his for a few moments longer. Katya had never been outwardly jealous of Kondor and whoever else he saw but she had to admit it was kind of nice to actually show some affection toward him outside of the bedroom. “Are you trying to get me drunk, daddy?” Her brows rose with an innocent look but it faded just as fast as her smirk returned.

Alexander wasn’t a vain man but he did like to think he looked good. Jeans, an open buttoned up shirt letting a white shirt poke through. He was wearing more than most of the people around them but then again he didn’t have much money or freedom to begin with to fo out and buy a fancy outfit. “Thank you,” he said with a smile as he grabbed her waist and attempted to behind to dance with the music. Honestly he had no idea how to do this, he was just faking it. “You look beautiful like always.”
Katya had, of course, gone all out on not just her own outfit but Kondors as well - it hadn’t been hard to convince the other man to let her dress him and she had been all too happy to let loose. She knew she was probably more exposed than the Queens guard should be, the lace of her top only just giving a hint of modesty but she didn’t care all that much - it was hardly the worst thing Saylor could yell at her about. When Alexander grabbed her waist she let out a laugh, eyes bright with the buzz of not just the alcohol but allowing herself to be free around others for once. “And you flatter me, like always.” Her smirk grew, fingertips grazing his jawline briefly before she allowed herself to get distracted by the music once more, though if the way her hips moved could be called dancing she wasn’t sure. “I haven’t surfaced in...weeks, hows life on land?”

the moment he stepped foot into the bar; he was looking for three things - alcohol, his sister, and saylor - of course, saylor was someone he could not be near to right now, out in public she had a husband and a reputation, and he couldn’t mess with that - however he did intend to keep a close eye on her. katya, on the other hand, was the other important woman in his life and god have mercy on whoever dared to cross her path, cause the avisor could cut them in half with his eyes closed. and so could she, to be quite honest, yet he knew what affect alcohol had on her, so he moved closer, when he saw her getting bumped into someone, being very quick to dismiss the guy,
“move one inch closer to her and i’ll rip your tongue out.” he managed to whisper close to the male, plastering a giant smile om his lips to fake friendliness in front of his sister and everyone else. the male did the smart thing and moved away, and that left josiah alone with his sister, “having fun, katya?” he asked; a genuine smile now crossing his features.
It had never crossed her mind when persuading Saylor to come to the party that Josiah would also be there, hell it hadn’t crossed her mind at all, she hadn’t seen him as that type of person, always preaching his rules and yet there he was in front of her and threatening someone. Katya didn’t hear the words he spoke but the meaning was clear enough when the man in question starting taking steps away and all she could do was let out a huff. “Really?!” She pouted dramatically before taking a long drink, she would need more alcohol than that if this was how he was going to act, “Pretty sure you only get to play the big brother card after a year of being said big brother, yknow?” Shaking her head the mer sighed, her smile tugging at her lips at the idea that he was still that big-brother-protective of her despite everything, “You’re not gonna threaten every person who looks at me are you? Cause it’s gonna be a long and rather aggressive night for you if so.”

Alexander was pleased to have gotten ‘permission’ to come to this party. To let loose and just relax away from the demons and other humans. He could blend in and pretend for one night that he was just a normal adult human who didn’t have to listen to whatever the demons commanded him to do. Tonight he was free. Drink in hand he was moving through the crowd when he felt someone run into him; a familiar face. “Well well,” he said with a smile on his lips and then a chuckle following. “I would be honored to dance with you.” The hand that wasn’t holding a drink took her free one as he let her lead the way.
There were more than a few handsome faces in the crowd, some she recognised and some she didn't, some with partners and others clearly looking for someone to spend at least some of the night with but she hadn’t expected to see him here. The few times she had met Alexander it had been very different situations, she hadn’t thought this type of party his scene but she wasn’t going to complain. Taking his hand Katya tugged gently, pulling him into the crowd with ease but not letting go once she got to a good spot, instead taking a sip of her drink as her hips started to move more, “Enjoying yourself?” Her smirk grew with the words, raising a brow his way in question, “You look good.”

Kon had lost her for a good hour after arriving at White Swallow, though it had given him chance to scope out the place. It had been a little while since he’d been there, and it had been a while since he’d seen many of his friends and so whilst this was slightly overwhelming, with the help of drink and drugs he’d calmed his jitters down and was happily indulging in the events that were on offer. Kondor took Kat’s hand, allowing himself to be dragged away from the sidelines and into the chaos, “I will always come and dance with you. Are you already under the influence, little guard?” He chuckled as he twirled her around before he began to dance. He wasn’t particularly good at it, though Kondor could move his hips enough to be classed as not horrible.
They knew each other well enough at this point that she should have known it was him without looking, but she was distracted until she had stopped and her grin only grew when he took her hand. Her eyes shut at the sound of the nickname from him, especially in a place like that, but the happiness as he twirled her was louder than those other thoughts quick enough. “Hmm..maybe?” Katya grinned up at him, wrapping one arm loosely around his neck as she danced against him, it was a rarity that she was given permission by him to act like this in public - even if it was silent permission by his agreement. “Aren’t you? Isn’t that the whole point?!” She twirled again, laughing to herself before taking a sip of the drink she was trying so hard not to spill, “To have fun? I’ve been so good for so long...”

She had been the quiet, well behaved guard that everyone expected for weeks - maybe months at this point, after her breakdown and the mess she had made it was best but tonight was different. The moment she had heard about the party Katya had fluttered her lashes at Kondor and made a very compelling argument to Saylor - with her two favourite people there she was happy, there was a spark in her, that little glint of mischief coursing through her veins as she downed shots and found her rhythm with the party. She might have been tipsy, at this point Katya didn’t really know or care where the buzz came from only that she had it, so she had gotten herself a cocktail and was making her way back to dance when she bumped into someone. Instead of apologising she simply grinned, let out a rather girly giggle (which she would hate herself for later) and held her free hand out to them, “Come dance with me?”

i made you cum, don’t ignore me.
you’re the only person i don’t get tired of.
i hate you for looking so pretty today.
we look fucking cute together.
i just punched shit, let’s call it therapy.
in case there’s any confusion, you’re fucking mine.
you’re fucking adorable and adorably fuckable.
nothing feels better than having you in my arms. well, being inside you maybe, but that’s not really romantic.
teasing you is what i’m best at.
oh shut up, you love to disagree with me more than anything, it’s your favourite thing in the world.
don’t say ‘fight me’ unless you wanna have sex with me or you’re actually tryna catch a right hook.
the best way not to get your heart broken is to pretend you don’t have one.
if you can’t handle me at my worst than we already have something in common.
bitch, wake the fuck up.
i’d say we’re enemies with benefits.
will there be food at your funeral?
i love the little moans you make when i’m teasing you.
i think i’m falling in love with you and it scares the shit out of me.
netflix and rest your head on my thigh while i run my fingers through your hair?
please take care of yourself, i wanna keep you for a long time.
your face triggers me.
stop saying things that make me wanna kiss the hell out of you.
oh my god stop being a brat i’m on my way.
me loving you doesn’t make you any less annoying.
stop making me think about you.
i just wanna cuddle and have intellectual conversations.
i’ll seduce you with interesting scientific facts.
hold on i’m watching porn.
i’m high, bi and ready to cry.
the lengths you would go to in order to both get and avoid attention astound me.
'what are you into’ is such a fucking broad question. what do i say to that? a tv show or choking?
never mind, i already did the stupid thing.
fall in love? bitch, i can’t even fall asleep.
i just ended a five year relationship but don’t worry, it wasn’t mine.
if rubbing alcohol fixes outside boo boo, then drinking alcohol fixes inside boo boo.
not to sound really gay and bitter but…
netflix and choke me though.
first of all, no. second of all, no.
i don’t know how to hit on him so he has to die.
i’m bored, give me attention.
i haven’t jacked off in like 2 days, call me fucking mother theresa.
he’s like twice my age but holy fucking shit he is so hot help me.
he’s turning me into a bottom. gross.
oh never mind i’m done being dramatic, i just got dicked down.
good morning i have already made 1 (one) bad decision and i show no signs of stopping.
go to bed. stop singing disney songs.
if i die i want you to have all my books.
stab him, i promise i’ll bail you out.
i feel like you’re trying to tell me what to do so i’m gonna do the opposite.

“Makes you think about me.” He smirked, pulling the cigarette back his way to take a deep inhale. Girl could think whatever it was that she wanted, but even the human could tell that she was interested in far more than just the cigarette they were sharing. Gabe chuckled, actually amused that she was still there and hadn’t poured a drink in his lap to stalk off to the next guy she could charm. “Information.” He leaned against the bar, looking as nonchalant as possible. Goods, girls, and guys he could get himself, but information was a bit harder to achieve. He knew that there was something special about Calamity and the people residing within. Any little tidbit whispered in his ear would help him figure out that damn missing puzzle piece that would let Gabe see the big picture. “Now are you going to be a nice kitten and put those claws away or am I going to have to find someone else to make purr?”
Her eyes rolled again at his response, but she was enjoying the sparring enough to stick around, nothing better she had to do with her evening. When he asked for information she frowned, one brow raising in curiosity at the idea, did he know who she was or who she worked for already or was he out for any little piece because that was far easier than trying to avoid questions about the Zanders. Her smirk grew at him calling her a kitten, laughing softly to herself before holding her hand out once more, leaning in to him with ease, “As exhilarating as you making me purr sounds I’m not sure what there is I could offer you in way of information, but you could share the smoke, maybe something will come to me.”
