Very interesting to attend marriage class with @shermashermz last weekend. Speakers got us thinking about our values, money, how to discipline any future children and much more. It was very interesting to think about the dining table as a sort of alter, the communion table, I hadn't thought of eating as much of a spiritual experience before. Luckily we both come from families where eating together is a foundational idea, I've read about studies indicating long term happiness and health benefits over the long term for families who eat together...so all the social media food blogging probably a good thing if it encourages us all to get together! The course also helped us reflect on behavioural patterns...differences can always be seen as opportunities to learn and grow! All of our behaviours have been formed over time, some we have adopted because we like them, others we avoid because we see them as damaging...whilst other behaviours may come from society or unknown other sources. If we are mindful and compassionate to ourselves we can accept or throw away whatever elements of this programming we like. The more we learn to give and take, listen, show respect and ask for Grace in God by asking for it when we need it the happier we can learn to be. The speakers gave emphasis to the relatively new field of Positive Psychology, which I think is an amazing area with huge levels of potential. The work of Martin Seligman was highlighted as he was a psychologist tired of the professions constant fascination with what goes wrong, and wanted to focus on the positives. His research found 3 crucial elements. 1. Interesting work or "Flow"  2. Having strong personal values which have a high focus on altruistic behaviour.  3. Good, strong and loving relationships.  Hopefully we can build on all of these as we continue our lives into a new chapter! #marriage #positivepsychology #god #church #philosophy #christian

After hitting a kerb last night trying to get out of the way of the federales in Dalston last night I failed miserably to change the ensuing flat tyre. Vision! Reclaim space such as the amazing but abandoned Slade Gardens Adventure Playground to provide a space for people with Special Needs to develop skills, meet sensory needs, create bespoke jobs and or experiences and interact, make friends and tell thier stories to peers,with the public, industry, professionals and everyone else interested in creating a fairer, more inclusive society and economy! I reckon it would be great for all people to be honest as everyone loves to play deep down but always good to start with a niche! (As the gurus tell me!👨‍🎓) This is just one of many spaces in London currently mothballed (presumably to hike prices for land development) that should be a real positive community asset. As a Special Needs teacher/tutor I am Looking for as much help as possible (funding streams/law/volunteering/research/community/charity /research groups) to help develop this sort of model in order to provide opportunities for people with SEN as they leave the #education system and enter adulthood....Large open space for happuness...possible work spaces for development of skills and hopefully profitable production! #teacch #shoebox #shoeboxtasks #mission #autism #special #london #specialneeds #pecs #sensory #sensorydiet #play #charity #research #socialenterprise #proprioception #vocation #vision #social (at Slade Gardens)
