august 2023 (left) when i had the biggest crash out of my life and lowkey (high key) went crazy vs jan 2025 (right)

i like them both for different reasons and appreciate the ugliness. 2023 was made when i was losing it completely and 2025 was made when i have my shit together for the most part.

i made the 2023 drawing after a terrible terrible day and week and month but i remember that day was just the final straw for me to fully lose it. made it to try and focus my energy elsewhere rather than nasty sh habits i had at the time or screaming and berating everyone around me. there’s a few other drawings i did but they were on paper and have no idea if i still have rhem.

glad it’s not 2023 anymore. cathartic. im better at choosing friends now. phew! antipsychotics are good and antidepressants do wonders. also therapy and self reflection are very helpful. no point in getting medicated if you aren’t actually going to recognise your flaws and work forward.

i like that the 2023 one is more red and warm toned whereas the 2025 one is blue. portrays a shift in myself i think. wow

anyway thinking back to that day and the things that unfolded, i have definitely grown as a person. both in my mental health and maturity and controlling my emotions. yeah 👍

im not proud of myself often and its still hard to say i am but i think i’ve come a long way since that day. i can say much more confidently that i am a good friend and person and my emotions don’t control me.
