NAME: Elsa Sommers Idunadottir ASSIGNED SIDNEYLAND: Camelot - Games of Magic JOB TITLE & ASSIGNMENT: Concessions - Manager at the Ice Queen’s Ice Cream Parlour FAVORITE RIDE/ATTRACTION: Battle of the HMS Relentless YEARS EMPLOYED AT SIDNEYLAND: 11 Years (Hired in 2014) PAST ROLES: Merchandise Clerk at Tortuga Treasures (2014-2016) Concessions Clerk at Ice Queen’s Ice Cream Parlour (2016-2019) Manager at Ice Queen’s Ice Cream Parlour (2019-Now)
TW: Car accident, mental health
As a little girl, Sidneyland had felt like a dream brought to life.
Elsa would visit every year with her family, running through the park and throwing herself into the fantasy of it all. She would swordfight with pirates on Atlantis Island, joust with the other squires in Camelot, and ride through the wild west in Besydus. The park hadn’t lost any of its magic by the time Elsa’s little sister Anna was born, and every time they made the trip to the family vacation home in Orlando, Elsa would take her baby sisters on all of the same adventures she’d loved as a little girl. It was her favorite place on the whole planet; as far removed from the cold of Minnesota as it was possible to be.
The trips stopped suddenly when Elsa was fifteen. When she went to practice her driving with her mother and little sister and ended up in a crash that put Anna in the hospital and her mother in a coma. When Iduna woke up, she didn’t remember anything and was paralyzed from the waist down.
Everything changed after that summer. Elsa’s father was distant and icy cold, excluding Elsa from every family event and taking every possible opportunity to remind her that their family’s woes were all her fault. Elsa did everything she could to try and make up for her mistake, but the pressure and guilt finally got to her during her first year in college and Elsa had to be hospitalized after having a nervous break. When she told her father she wasn’t returning to school, he kicked her out with little more than the clothes on her back.
To this day, she wasn’t entirely sure what brought her back to Orlando of all places; maybe the memories of a warmer, happier time. Maybe the guilt bringing her back to the scene of the crime. Either way, it turned out to be the best decision she ever made.
She managed to get a job at the park during a job fair, starting first as a clerk at Tortuga Treasures. She made friends in the park and even found some roommates, since her attempt to get back into the abandoned Sommers vacation home had nearly ended in her arrest. After a few years of working in the park, she was scooped out of Atlantis by the then-manager of the Ice Queen to instead work in Camelot.
It took time -- and a lot of crying into Luisa and Martin’s arms on their living room floor -- but Elsa slowly began to let go of all of the guilt from her childhood. She started to see the magic in Sidneyland again and even started making some of her own, earning herself the reputation as the real-life Ice Queen. She took over as manager when Johanna retired, and even finally reunited with Anna when she came to Sidneyland with the SCP.
(The fallout of that reunion was still dying down, but her mother was now living in the old Orlando vacation home while her lawyers take Agnarr to the cleaners. Elsa visited frequently to help her mom out, and their relationship was slowly being rebuilt.)
Now, Elsa can happily say life feels like a dream again. She’s got a job she loves, her friends and family supporting her, and now she even has a boyfriend! What had started as a harmless crush on the cute (and very strong) construction worker helping to build the new Star Wars land turned into a friendship when he started frequenting the parks and her shop, and when he asked her out she eagerly accepted. She’s enjoying the anniversary festivities and the giddy honeymoon period (and who knows, maybe she’ll finally learn what all the hype is about backstage hook ups with your partner).

A Change in Circumstance ❅ Icebreaker
The bracelets from Hekapoo changed everything for Ralph; allowing him to move through the world without fear, finally free. All sorts of new possibilities were laid out before him now. Maybe even the chance to take back a choice he'd made months ago that he had regretted ever since. (Someone probably should have warned Elsa first.) Takes place July 15th, 2025

Elsa was closing by herself tonight, and it was a quiet, familiar dance. Cleaning up the tables and booths, putting the chairs up, sweeping the floor, preparing the toppings bar for the next day. All done to the quiet murmuring of the stereo, singing to Elsa as she spun around the building like a ghost. When they were alone, the stereo liked to serenade her in Saami, singing to her of home.
A year ago, there would have been the ruckus from the Hunted Deer and the chatter of Tiana's to keep her company, but now it was just the Ice Queen in her little isolated kingdom. The last beating heart on the lakefront.
The tap from the window sounded more like a gunshot in the quiet, and Elsa startled so badly the room lit up with a flare of ice-light as her magic reacted and sent up a spray of ice to curve around her protectively. She had to duck around the ice to catch Chief's wave from the window and her racing heart started to slow. She sighed in relief and the ice she'd conjured broke into flurries that followed her to the door.
"I know you have my number," she cajoled without any real ire as she unlocked the door, waving Chief inside. "Warn a girl, would you?"
He was limping, and Elsa quickly bustled to the nearest table to pull down a chair for him. "Here, sit," she instructed.

"Practicing," Elsa corrected, letting out a long, frosted breath before pushing herself upright. Her knees shook a little, exhaustion clinging to her bones, but she pushed through it. She'd been tired since InterPride, and no amount of sleep seemed to be helping. The blue tint to her fingers was also still clinging on, despite several long, hot baths.
She shook out her hands and sent flurries spinning into the air. "It's been acting up since the explosion," she admitted. "I was hoping if I let enough out..." she sighed.
"But that's not what I called you out here for. I know this-" she gestured vaguely at herself "- is a bit outside of your wheelhouse, but I was hoping you might be able to help me out anyways. I need to learn how to fight. With my magic."
It hadn't been something she'd been taught by the Northuldra; their magic was meant to be used as a tool, not as a weapon. But Swynlake kept testing her and Elsa was starting to fall behind.

There was a certain awkwardness to being close to grief that wasn't your own. It was a feeling like walking on sand, shifting and unsteady under your feet as you try to navigate through it, wary of beach glass and broken shells. Pain points that you don't recognize until you're stepping on them.
Rehearsals felt like that now, especially for Elsa. It wasn't like she and Tink had gotten especially close during the process -- Tink spent most of her time with Jack or her own friends -- but Elsa shared the most scenes with her so there was this expectation that Elsa should be sadder than she should be. There was certainly a void now, a spot where Tink should be that was oddly empty, but it felt rather more like she'd just moved away.
(Elsa thought about Periwinkle. Thought about the idea of losing her own sister so suddenly and so permanently. It was the closest she felt to proper grief.)
Elsa was reviewing her script when she saw Ting Ting sit next to her and looked up to give the other woman her full attention. They also weren't close, but they were friendly enough, and familiar from almost a month of attending most of the same rehearsals. If she felt awkward, she could only imagine how poor Ting felt. Elsa was standing next to the ghost, Ting was wearing her shoes.
Elsa gave Ting a small smile. "Guess we are," she agreed, closing her script. "How're you feeling about it?"

Call it the curse of being a teenaged prodigy, but Elsa hated backsliding. If she took a step forward, she wanted to stay in that spot with her hard-earned progress, not stumble back over and over again.
After what happened at Interpride, she found herself in a place almost unrecognizable in its distance.
Suddenly, her magic wasn’t a gift anymore -- it wasn’t a skill she could control, but a curse once more. Every hand she reached out was a weapon again, cold and unforgiving, and the pleasant chill that followed her even in the depths of summer could freeze down to the bones.
(She had checked out of the hospital room she shared with Martin as soon as she could, fearful of waking up in a room covered with frost and a cold body in the bed next to hers.)
Breathing was still hard, thanks to the smoke inhalation, but Elsa had worked through worse before. She was in her backyard, conjuring structures of ice amongst the grass and waving them away, snow spinning through the air and melting quickly away into nothing. Every time she left frost on the grass or it took too long for her to break the structures up, her frown deepened until she was scowling. She couldn’t just be cold, she had to be able to thaw again.
Just in case.
She had stopped to take a break, crouched low with her arms crossed over her head to help her breathe a little easier, when she saw Ren come around the side of the cottage. Elsa raised one hand in greeting. “Hey,” she wheezed. “You responded quick.” She knew better than to thank them.

Ralph came back with an armful of towels that Elsa gratefully took from him, a smile on her lips. "That's a cute name," she said. Gender-neutral, too, so he probably wouldn't have to change it. She held out one end of the towel towards Q-Bert who gave it a sniff and immediately shoved her face against it once she caught Ralph's scent, purring.
(Ugh, of course he had to have a cat that adored him. She couldn't just get over him in peace, nooo.)
Elsa gave Ralph a few more instructions as she helped Q-Bert get comfy, tucking the towels around and under her and making sure she was warm and cozy. Ralph brought over a dish of water which Elsa made sure to keep close enough for Q-Bert to have a sip of whenever she needed. And then they waited.
TW: ANIMAL BIRTH, BLOOD
They stayed close, but weren't staring into the box as Q-Bert panted and yowled. Elsa made sure to give Ralph the seat closest to his cat, so she'd know he was there, but there was really nothing else they could do except wait.
A sentiment she had to repeat to Ralph several times, whenever Q-Bert would make pained sounds and Ralph's eyes would go wide with panic. Elsa stayed by his side -- not too close, he seemed to be avoiding her and she didn't blame him -- and distracted him with stories of her own experiences with kittens, including the ones that Anna had snuck into the manor when she was seven in the pockets of her jacket that she insisted weren't suspiciously meowing, or the barn cat that had given birth in her childhood horse's stall.
(As she babbled on, her eyes occasionally drifted around his apartment, taking in the empty, impersonal space and feeling something twist at the back of her chest. He'd only been back in town for a year, of course, but the couch was the only real piece of furniture she could see. She started to think of some good places to find cheap furniture, but quickly cut off that line of thinking. That would be too far. Apartment decor was a girlfriend job, not a girl friend job.)
Occasionally she would lean over to check on Q-Bert, giving her scratches and reassuring her with a whisper-soft voice, and excitedly telling Ralph whenever a new kitten emerged. By the time Q-Bert was done, there were five tiny kittens wiggling around on the towel, looking more like wet jellybeans with legs then animals.
Q-Bert pressed her little nose against Ralph's hand that was on the ground closest to her, letting out a tiny meow that melted Elsa's heart, before turning back to her kittens and starting to lick them clean.
"Good girl," Elsa cooed, scratching Q-Bert's head before smiling at Ralph. "See? Everyone's just fine."

Well that wasn't the answer Elsa was expecting.
Her head popped up, the embarrassed flush on her cheeks darkening as she processed what exactly he'd just said. It was odd seeing Maximus more relaxed, with a small smile on his face.
(Again, Elsa wasn't blind. She knew he was handsome. But so was everyone in Swynlake. It hadn't been relevant until right now.)
Elsa felt suddenly very shy and ducked her eyes back down to the screen, tapping her nails nervously against the bottom of the monitor so it wouldn't disrupt his order.
"I... it would just be something casual," she forewarned. Honesty was the best policy and all. "I'm not really ready to date anyone right now." Not when she was still so bruised up from what had happened earlier in the year. It felt pathetic to still be upset about something that had clearly only mattered to her, but here they were.
"If that's okay with you," she continued, finally looking up to meet his eyes, "then would you like to accompany me to prom?"
(If he had just been joking and was about to turn her down, Elsa was going to die.)

The music was not helping.
After giving Mim a patented Big Sister 'Don't Even' Look, Elsa looked back at Maximus and tried to ignore everything going on around her.
"Yeah, of course. We have lavender lemonade, key lime pie-"
'The Sadie Hawkins Dance in my khaki pants, there's nothing better, oh oh oh!'
"-smores, Nutella-swirl, blueberry donut-"
'The girls ask the guys, it's always a surprise, there's nothin' better!'
Elsa grit her teeth as the music got louder. "-Biscotti cookie dough-"
'Baby, do you like my sweater-'
"Bugle!" Elsa finally snapped, her head whipping around and sending her hair flying. "Knock it off!"
She realized what she said about two seconds too late, and felt her stomach drop as her face flushed again. The music died down, now whisper-soft. Praying to every god that Mim didn't say anything, Elsa pressed her fingers to her temples before sighing. She turned back to Maximus and looked about as defeated as she felt.
"Look just turn the option down before they bring out a powerpoint or something," she muttered, staring at the screen of the till and refusing to make eye contact.
