He still couldn’t believe it, seeing this living, breathing creature atop of trash, like it was some discarded toy - and subsequently, the babe could hardly believe its own eyes, crying ceased as it beheld its savior. His adrenaline was still high as he scooped the baby up - small enough to be held in one of his hands. Its heartbeat trembled into his palm, Leatherhead gently taking a finger to part the grimy blanket it had been wrapped in. He managed to free its face fully; revealing a lizard newborn, a gecko, if he was recalling species correctly. It was still staring at him as Leatherhead freed an arm next, and as it naturally felt led to do, grasped onto him with the little strength it had. Leatherhead felt his heart skip a beat - breath hitched in his throat as time stopped. The new, unknown feeling blossoming in his chest went beyond lending aid in the moment, denial forsaken as Leatherhead realized what it all meant. There was no way he could possibly make this work, but as the babe coughed, and coughed again, did desperation set in and reason flee. He needed a hospital - Immediately!

I'm literally no one, I have zero sway in the TMNT Fandom, but I genuinely believe that the last round of the OCxCanon contest could have been even closer had one of the opponents shut down their friend's stalker tendencies. If you want your friend to win, maybe don't go on a smear campaign that not only shows you're not over whatever the fallout was, but the straws that were being grasped were so thin they got you banned from viewing the competition directly. The comp was always meant for fun and fun only, and yet she-who-will-not-be-named treated it like a witch hunt so her friend could have a better chance at winning.

I am ashamed to be in the same age braket as this person. Like, is having a tantrum over a contest purely meant to fun something worth getting so upset over? Both sides were being actively harassed because of your idiocy - so, grats, you ultimately made it worse regardless of your supposed justice.

So glad I blocked you on AO3 so I don't have to see all the bribery fics clogging up the Rise tags.
