Apparacaria

Devastation Pokémon

Evolves from Trevenant when exposed to a Dusk Stone.

Type: Ghost/Grass

Apparacaria creates powerful illusions that cause anyone foolish enough to wander into its territory to be lost forever, compelled to walk until exhaustion or be accosted by nightmares. The trees in its native environment are critically endangered due to logging and habitat loss, so it fiercely defends its home with no mercy. Anything that gets too close to it is snatched up in a flash by its prehensile branches and fed to the crevice at the top of its head.

Abilities: Guts, Iron Barbs, Illusion

Stats:

HP: 95 Attack: 115 Defense: 85 Sp. Attack: 125 Sp. Defense: 135 Speed: 40

Ambush Pokémon

Evolves from Spidops after fainting to a Super-effective attack starting at level 33.

Type: Bug/Ghost

Arachnagent is a covert ambush predator that uses its silk to trap the souls of its prey and save them for later. It uses the silk thread from its abdomen to weave a parachute which it utilizes to drop down on unsuspecting prey at any time of day. It has a 100% success rate. Looking into the eye patterns on its body causes paralysis, which it then takes as an opportunity to wrap up it's prey. The eyes around its head give it incredible 360 degree vision, allowing it to approach its target from any angle. Constant feuding with Scyther caused it to change colors upon evolution, mimicking Scizor to get the jump on them.

This is the same technique I'm testing out in MagicaCSG !! These 12 frames of test animation took me longer than I'd like to admit AND I rendered all the frames in the wrong perspective camera, but it still came out better than I thought!

Animation is hard I hate it I love it

Stop-motion is an animation technique in which objects are physically manipulated in small increments. By capturing 24 frames per second, the object comes to life

The movement of each character, the speed at which they move, and lighting are all taken into account. Everything is crafted and captured manually, frame by frame. By doing everything manually, the handmade nature of this series exudes warmth filled with the unique charm only stop-motion can provide.

As the process requires extreme precision, each animator can only create up to 4 to 5 seconds of footage a day. Approximately 86,000 individual images were required to create this series.
