this show is soooooooooo good very curious to see where things go from here now that the tanukis have shown up, and they weren't even from the vial like i thought they were! i feel like yachiyo is gonna have a bad time when she learns that the humans are probably all dead, really makes me wonder where the show is gonna end up tonally

anne shirley 3

This is starting to pick up more as we meet more of the cast. Anne breaking her slate over Gilbert's head was really funny, and I'm curious to see what finally convinces her to go back to school. She's so real for zoning out and envisioning a little person dancing on the lake. Easily one of the strongest shows of the season so far.

watched the first ep of food for the soul, solely because it's a PA works original. not sure this one has enough going for it in the first ep for me to stick around though. none of the characters really grabbed my attention.

still some nice relaxing vibes though and i wonder if there'll be some friction between makocchi and the other club members since she seems to want to actually cook. might give one more ep just to see if it goes anywhere interesting with that but probably dropping otherwise.

funny alien guy

watched episode 2 of apocalypse hotel and it's soooooooo good. i honestly could've watched an entire 12 episodes of the silly alien guy just doing stuff. new robot is aight too yachiyo is a really fun protagonist. love how she's very committed to her work but also kinda loses her shit sometimes. very curious about how the tanuki people come into the picture, maybe from the plant thing the alien gave her???? also wondering if the owner somehow knew aliens were gonna show up or the apocalypse was gonna happen, although the water fountain mouth is pretty funny. really strong start so far, def give this one a watch if you're unsure

more first impressions

need to rewatch gqux because i was having internet problems but OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG I KNEW ITD BE LIKE THAT BUT I DIDNT THINK ITD BE LIKE THAT SO EXCITED shoshimin still goated i feel bad for urino and kobato's gf though anne shirley 2 with the roast of the century, that rachel lady got cooked witch watch funny, not quite as good an ep as the first one imo but i know how good this gets from the manga so i'm along for the ride started the first ep of mono and didn't finish it, not bad but not what i'm interested in rn apocalypse hotel is the unexpected banger of the season, great mixture of melancholy and humor, loved all the little robot dudes and the receptionist robot lady did a really good job of mostly carrying the episode herself

kowloon generic romance was so interesting i binge read everything that's been translated into english and i loved it, may still keep watching if i'm not too busy but it's lower priority since i read it already

iffy on starting other shows, i have a decent number rn, your forma seems interesting conceptually but i've heard mixed things and the same applies to lazarus and i'd rather wait for official jp audio track/english subs for that gonna go back to separate posts for each episode but i got lazy this time

rapid fire first ep impressions 1 a few first impressions from episode 1s so far, will likely have a few more, but gundam is gonna get its own post lol Anne Shirley: pretty looking show and i'm eager to watch anything with a different sort of premise/vibe/style than most other anime. i'm aware of but haven't seen the older adaptation or read the novels. Anne is a lot of fun!

Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive?: Wanted to see if this was hatewatch material but instead it was just sorta dull. no other thoughts here Kowloon Generic Romance: definitely gonna try and keep up with this one, had a great atmosphere, interesting setting, giant cube????? kujirai and kudo have great chemistry and i really wanna know what going on with the story in general. a little more fanservicey than i usually like but somehow i didn't mind hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

been reading the manga for this on and off since it started so i was real excited for this, and it did not disappoint. Can't wait to see all of the nonsense the gang gets up to in glorious animated style op is really fantastic too, as expected for yoasobi. 2/2 on really good openings this season with shoshimin

Picks up right where it left off without missing a beat, already so fearful for Osanai's new bf lol. don't think she's behind the arson because that would be too obvious tho. wonder what kobato's new gf is gonna end up doing in the next couple eps, gonna be interested to see her get a little more focus because she and kobato seem pretty good together, though it seems he maybe is not totally opening up to her yet. osanai's bf's friend is sus af

they really could make a decent looking show if they wanted, they clearly know how to animate people but they like deliberately choose to do everything in a way that is just massively overstimulating for no reason. like what does animating every individual strand of hair like its its own entity or making the one girl's chest bounce all over the place every time she moves add like genuinely. doesn't mean they could make a decently written original show though, every character in this was super annoying.

checked this one out from a sense of morbid curiosity and now i have seen enough lol.

what a fucking show oh my god. osanai is actually insane and unhinged and it's so entertaining to watch. here and kobato make for such an interesting pairing and seeing things end the way they did makes me so much more excited for season 2. like what the hell is gonna happen? i feel bad for the poor guy that asked osanai out at the end he is NOT in a for a good time like holy shit.

makeine thoughts

finished watching makeine, figured i could just do one post about the whole show rather than episode by episode since it's been done for a while now. really enjoyed the show overall, it's nice to have something as well-produced and funny as this. i think the show really captures the messiness of relationships at that age and how things don't work out and you kind of move on anyway in a way i don't typically see shows go for. really did not like the fanservicey bits though they brought the show down a decent bit for me although thankfully they were somewhat less frequent and generally more toned down later than earlier in the show.

hope it gets a season 2! solid 7/10 show with a lot of moments that would make it better if it weren't for the fanservice/some of the running bits i was less of a fan of.

peak anime

i know this blog has been dead since august but i'm gonna try and bring it back. i was in fact much busier irl and that's not really gonna stop yet but i have some free time so yk.

i literally did not keep up with any of those summer shows except for tasuketsu, which was perhaps the single funniest so bad its good anime i have ever watched, and i would highly recommend watching it with friends. it's just about the dumbest most unintentionally silly show i have ever seen, and i've watched all of ex-arm so that's saying something.

one of my favorite moments watching anime in the past couple years was reaching the end of the first half of tasuketsu with friends and realizing we were only halfway done with the show, since we had assumed the story was about to be over. we had never expected another entire season's worth of bullshit and it was glorious.

i feel like nukumizu just spent this whole episode getting roasted lol curious what lemon was up to because i doubt she was actually cheating with whatshisface. fanservice still hasn't been as bad as episode 2 but still really not a fan still pretty funny overall so still watching
