In total, twenty members of the group were found guilty of murder and executed. While the Molly’s were responsible for a large number of violent incidents, a number of those executed were likely innocent. This is why I insist on being a holiday's (even Minor) and birthday person. Because we should celebrate whenever the occasion, but especially when there is a large opportunity. I understand that everyone has their own experiences with these things, but the only way to make them enjoyable is to do it yourself sometimes.

But like especially Ya'll please be happy for your birthday! I am so tired of the "age is just a number" and "it's just another day" NO that's your day. You survived on this planet for a whole year and if you made it through this one you can do one more. And make it everyone's business that it's your birthday you are allowed to taked up space. You are allowed to wear those dorky signs that say 'ITS MY BIRTHDAY' use all those free percs at restaurants and stores. You deserve something from the world at least once a year.

And of course some people who don't understand joy are going to be unhappy about it but the number of people who will be brought jpy through your joy is so much better. So many people truly are going to be happy about being able to say happy birthday to you. Others willl be ecstatic to learn it's your birthday because it's either their's or some one close to them. Then they will get to talk about something and you will have brough active joy into their lives because of this pleasant interaction. And then if it's their birthday too, you can make a big deal about them and continue this cycle of joy.

TLDR celebrate your birthday b/c you are important enough to make a big deal over

Sorry about the rant I'm just SO sick of this "we have to be on all the time never look away if you aren't upset about politics and traumatizing yourself watching people die on Twitter you're wrong and complicit and evil" like I know things are fucked and we need to stay angry but we can do that while also taking a minute to crack open a cold one with the boys or have gay sex or get tipsy at the line dance, we HAVE to have joy to remember why the fuck we're refusing to give up in the first place. Fight like hell for your loved ones and then also go home with them to smoke weed and drink sweet tea and make biscuits covered in honey and butter please, please don't deprive yourself of joy, you're allowed to be happy BEFORE the work is done. You're allowed to be happy.

I dropped a class after one period my senior year because the subject was theater throughout the world. The class was taught by a young white man firstly and as he went over the syllabus it was clear that he only cared about exoticism. But the thing that really killed me was that while he was trying to describe the ways music and dance give marginalized people a voice he silenced the only non visibly white personal in the class. He legit gave incorrect information about and couldn’t remember the name of the Hoka. The student next to me was maori and politely tried to correct him and was brushed off. When i tried to assist her i was also ignored. I literally went straight to the registrar after that.

like, okay, consent does literally just mean agree. which is what enables this little rhetorical trick. because there's all this cultural emphasis on sexual consent, which is just expressed as consent, a lot of phrases whose intended meanings are "rape is bad" can be taken literally to mean "i should get to agree to everything that happens in my vicinity."
