I didn’t really have the chance to take nice photos but anyway, here’s the Cyberpunk 2077 Ciri costume I made and wore to gamescom last week. It’s very simple and nothing special but I am still sort of fond of it. I would never have dreamed of having this much fun in it because I tend to worry a lot about people looking at my chub.
Also: some of you might have already read this/guessed but I want to take a break from cosplyaing. I actually wanted to quite completely but I don’t know if I can hold myself back and I reckon it’s just as unhealthy to “restrict” heavily when I still enjoy making stuff. But especially cons are always a huge challenge for me because I have a complicated relationship with my body. I used to see every person being slimmer or prettier as a call for competition, regardless of my mental state or body’s needs. So it’s even stranger and nicer that I managed to wear this to GC and perform for a dance off in it -- at least I am leaving with lots of positive vibes.   I thank you all for those crazy ~3 years and I would love to stay in touch with you (you can DM me for fb/twitter). Either way, take care guys x

Group photo with newly made friends at Gamescom in Cologne -- which might has been my last convention as a cosplayer for a while. It was a blast and I am so thankful for each and everyone of you!
I only have worn Maria outside two times but I love her character so much and I also like to think that she suits me/I didn’t do a too bad job with the costume

in therapy my therapist and i were talking about my own feelings of self worth in relationships. and she asked me to say qualities about myself that someone else would be attracted to, on a romantic and platonic level. so i named some things like compassionate, empathetic, etc. and she said “you named things that you can give someone. ways you can serve, rather than ways that you are” and y'all..my mind was blown that’s gonna stick with me forever like she then proceed to tell me actual innate qualities about myself that she liked and thought anyone else would like as well and i hadn’t even considered those because like she said i was focused on things i could do outwardly to attract and maintain connections rather than who i was as a person..goddamn!!! thats tea!!!

There’s nothing more ugly than the culture of having children for the sake of having them. Too many people ask “do you want kids?” but not enough ask “are you ready for the emotional, physical, and financial sacrifices you will have to make to raise children?” It’s so ugly to me that people treat kids like a commodity, like a dress or a pair of earrings they just throw on. How dare you? That’s not a new car you can get bored of or discard in a few years, that is a person, and particularly a person who will absolutely be dependent on you for emotional support, financial support, discipline, and leadership; someone who you will have power of virtually every portion of their lives until they’re ready to be adults, who you will impact in irreversible ways, who will look to you for the rest of YOUR life and theirs for explanations about life and how they turned out to be who they are, for better or for worse. If you say you “want kids” but you’re “not sure if you could handle” them needing time and attention, costing you money,  or you’re “not sure you can handle” if they turn out gay, or disabled, or transgender, or any other myriad of things that don’t really make your child any less of a person but which an ugly society can have ugly views on, etc. then you don’t deserve to have children. If you “want children” but haven’t thought about literally having to be there for them for virtually everything they will go through and ask of you, you’re not adult enough to have them.

Rome, 35mm
The Roman Forum was definitely the best part of our whole trip – we spent hours just walking through the ancient ruins in silence. It is almost incomprehensible to me that all of this is still here.

America. They want someone to love, but they want someone to hate, and the haters always say. “Tonya, tell the truth!” There’s no such thing as truth.
