Maggie
This is a “double exposure” photo edited and shot by me. Both photos were taken on film, but edited as a double exposure. One of my new goals is to take double and triple exposures on my film camera. To double expose photos on film you take one picture on one exposure and wind the camera without moving the film (holding film down) and then taking a second photo (and again for a third exposure) and when it’s developed t would look something like this!

Winston House
I was so gratefull for this opportunity to shoot at the Winston House this past month. It’s such an iconic music venue location in West LA, having people like Billie Eilish, Nipsey Hussel, and Donna Missal come in to perform. I came about this opportunity when I was eating lunch with my friend in Venice and I took a photo of her with my film camera at the table. This man came up to me and was intrigued by the fact that I was shooting on film. It turned out he is the creative director for media for the Winston House and he invited me to shoot that week at their weekly show. The house is three stories high and quite small. With the big crowd it was difficult to manuever around with three cameras, but I managed and it was one of the best photography experiences i’ve ever had. I hope to get invited back to shoot again soon!

*NOT MY PHOTOS*
This weekend I am doing production design for an LGBTQ shortfall directed by Patrick Fritz. My main job is to decorate a “17 year old girl’s” room. Her character is shy, yet achieved, and is exploring her sexuality/queerness. She has not yet come out to her family so there aren't any signs of her being gay that are prominent and her room decor hasn't much changed over the past few years. This is a mood board I put together for a collage I am making that will cover a body length mirror in her room. We need to cover the mirror in order to hide the camera during shooting. Her character’s favorite color is purple and most of her room is decorated with purple items. The director also wanted to incorporate the color blue, as blue is the color of discovery. The director asked that we do not add photos of bodies to the collage, especially women’s bodies. On our prep day I am going to print out these photos in a larger size and cover the mirror with them.

Macro Photography
My fourth assignment for my photography class this semester was macro photography, luckily I own a 50mm lens which is made for macro shots. This was the first time I decided to shoot indoors (in my apartment). I felt that if I had gone outside I would have been too tempted to take photos of plants and flowers and wanted more of a challenge to see what I would come up with.

Since lens filters can be pretty expensive, I decided to make my own. Today I played around with seran wrap and vaseline. I put the seran wrap over my lens and secured it with a rubber band and then rubbed vaseline around the edges in front of the lens and his is the result I got!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the annual Bombay Beach Biennale art movement. My friends are filming a documentary about the town it is held in as well as cover the festival itself. It is held in a town of 200 people on the shore is Salton Sea in the Mojave desert. The documentary covers interviews with the locals and their feelings about the traffic that this festival brings in each year with a juxtaposition of the festival itself and all of its fun aspects. Apart from assisting my friends in shooting he documentary I was able to go off by myself and take pictures with my film and DSLR cameras. Overall I had the best time and I am super grateful to have had this experience.
