I’m obsessed with Osomatsu enough to where I’m still enjoying this season but like, l wouldn’t at all be surprised if it ends up my least favorite season in hindsight. It honestly already is because each episode doesn’t push their plots to absurd limits like it originally did.

I’m willing to tolerate a more “tame” season if it meant future seasons would go back to how it was, but like, why would it?

This season feels extra sinister to me because it's not JUST a raunchy anime suddenly stoping making adult jokes for no reason

Osomatsu san constantly insisted that it was never going to be proper. Literally every first episode of season included a joke about trying to make the anime proper, sanitized and normie, and failing under the strength of raunchy adult comedy. That was almost ososan's whole thing.

So season 4 feels like either an insult, or a failure. It's like season 3's proper Matsus won. It's the bad timeline. It goes against everything the show stood for.
