Royalmelody Story as Promised

It took forever(due to personal reasons, we apologize)but as promised months ago we have written a sweet little royalmelody story in dedication to @oz-the-sorcerer who won first place. Of course we invite anyone who wants to read it too to go on ahead and enjoy.

We will hopefully see you all again in 2022!

Loosely based on Tangled. Rian, Gurjin, Amri, and Kylan are a band of thieves roped into taking Brea out to see the world and help realize her dream. In the midst of adventure and hilarity, love blooms between the mild-mannered Spriton and the lost princess.

Day 7: Alternate universe (AU) ☕️💞

(a day late, but hey, at least we’re here 🤙)

I went with the well renowned modern/café AU cause at the beginning of the year I tried and failed to make a modern RoyalMelody piece that never got to see the light of day. This is a pretty amateur attempt at recapturing the same vibes I went with back when I was working on that piece, but oh well, it does the work \_(ツ)_/

It’s been a while since I last drew gelflings, so please excuse the fact that Brea looks more human than anything—I drew them both from memory, ok??

Special ANNOUNCEMENT!

Royalmelody Week 2021 has officially finished it's seven day streak but that doesn't mean we're quite over yet.

First:

We know of some users that would have liked to participate (or participate more) on this activity but because of their busy squedule or anything else in the matter they couldn't. So we have decided to make a time extension for anyone who still wants to participate. The extension will be of two weeks for anyone who wants to participate and get their entry reblogged. 

Second:

So Tumblr has been acting strange this week and not always whenever this page was tagged in a post could we see it. Sometimes when someone tagged this page I could see it in my activity but sometimes it would not tell me. Half of the post I reblogged here was because me and my friend found them while wondering around the app. And most of time when I checked the tag it was well written and when I tapped on it it sent me back here so it was not an error of the user but just Tumblr not doing its job. Therefore out of now having trust issues with Tumblr there's a new rule: if you post something for Royalmelody week and a day or more passes by and this page has not reblogged it, just send it to us directly through Tumblr messages. Cause high chances are I wasn't notified and I wouldn't like anyone participating to be left out. If less than a day has passed wait a bit because it may be that I just haven't entered the app yet but if a day or more passes please do send it over directly.

Third:

Thank you for everyone who has already participated and those who have shown us interest in participating soon! This is not something that I've seen done before but anyone who participates in this, even if it's with one prompt, has a chance of a special price~~ We will pick two lucky usernames once the two week extension is over. I have a collage AU in mind for months, and Kylan absolutely owns the mullet.

"Brea?"

"Yeah?"

"Love, don't look now but, are those Rian and Deet kissing behind the bushes?"

"I'm telling you, there's no way our plan worked- OH MY GOD, THEY ARE-!"

You can't tell me that this wouldn't be perfect! I mean Brea and Jasmine are so alike. Plus the way Aladdin is so in love with Jasmine that he goes through so much trouble, I feel like Kylan would do that (just in a tad clumsier way haha). I'm definitely writing a fic about this AU in the future but for now enjoy this drawing!

Royalmelody Week Day 6: Behind the Scenes

I am planning to write a "behind the scenes" fanfic where I think they could've interacted or simply it was not on screen. The whole thing still needs work but, here's a finished part:

It was over. Their first victory against the Skeksis. She hoped it wouldn't be the last as she hopped around and hugged her friends.

Everyone was congratulating one another, putting their swords up high as they screamed with joy.

Brea looked around if there is anyone left she didn't hug yet. And saw him, saying something to Mother Aughra. He was happy, his ears moving up and down. She couldn't help grinning at his giddiness.

She also couldn't stay still while taking big steps towards him, never felt so alive before in her whole life. So she wasn't really thinking when she held onto his shoulder and turned him to her. Kylan yelped, not expecting the harsh pull on his leather armor.

Their eyes met and Brea realized her cheeks hurt from smiling at this point. And he was no different.

"We did it!!" They said at the same time, then she was in his arms.

I thought their little "oops" part in the Stone in the Wood battle was cute but THIS just made it 10 times better

RoyalMelody week Day 6: Behind the Scenes

For this day I'll be sharing a preview of a story I am working on. It takes place a few days after the battle in Stone in the Wood. (Once I have the full story done I'll post it in my Ao3 and reblog this post putting the link to it). For now enjoy the preview!

Ps. I mixed elements from both the series and the books

All he could do was roll around so frustrated he gave up on the idea of sleep and just got up to get some fresh air instead. Leaving his temporary tent he wondered around the Stonewood village. After the battle with the Skeksis he and a bunch of other gelfling's had helped tidy the area up as much as possible. Still you could sense the traces of war lingering into a few corners here and there. A reminder of the reality they were currently living.

His hand traced a few walls filled with stitching of gelfling words. Carved in forever. Knowing something would stay permanently kinda filled him with a sense of hope.

"Can't sleep either?"

He turned around surprised to hear a voice behind him. He calmed down a bit once he saw it was the youngest Vapra princess.

"Brea, I didn't hear you. Since when have you been standing there?"

Brea shrugged

"Only like a minute or so. It's very easy to sneak on you when you're reading these carvings. You seem to get sucked into them. I understand, I love them too but you should be careful and weary, especially if you're alone at night"

He nodded, patting his hands on his clothing.

"Yeah I will..."

There was a bit of an awkward silence and it was really making Kylan a bit nervous so he looked back up at her and gave her a small nod. 

"Well I'll try to go to sleep now, goodnight"

As he passed by her she grabbed his arm making him stop in his tracks.

"Kylan when we split do you remember? In the desert. I went with Deet and Rian while you went with the rest to spread the fires of Thra"

She let go of his arm and he wondered why she was recalling that moment. 

"Yes I remember"

Brea looked down at the floor not looking at him when she asked her next question.

"I overheard from Naia that you guys got to spend time with Tavra at some parts of your journey"

He swallowed hard and hummed in affirmation. 

"How was she? Back then?"

He smiled

"Like Tavra always was. Leading, good advice, always very analogical and weary. She begged us once when we arrived to the Sifan coast to please not cause any trouble and to stay in the ship while she left to go get some help..."

He chuckled

"Naia wanted to explore though and before we knew it we left and caused a bit of a fuss...we almost got in trouble cause someone accused us of stealing"

Brea laughed

"How did she react?"

Now they both eased up and leaned against the wall.

"How do you think? I don't have any siblings but that day I learned how one can give you a death glare"

Brea laughed harder this time.

"But even in her strictness there was room for care and sometimes even joking around. She was really something"

Brea nodded

"She was...back home she would say that she was the fun one"

Kylan turned to look at her. 

"Were you close?"

Brea nodded

"Very. If I could describe it I would say that Tavra between the three of us was like a glue. Making sure we didn't fall apart..."

She looked sad again and Kylan regretted having asked that question.
