My friend Ryan Leslie is giving away FREE ebook copies of his weird/horror/sf book The Between today. The sequel comes out in September, so this gives you plenty of time to be ready for the second half of the whole (wonderful) story. (Sequel: The Garden of Before, available Sept. 23.)

(I did the audiobook for his novel Colossus, and we need this duology to do well so he'll write the Colossus sequel and I can narrate that one, too... I'm not self-interested at all.)

Quick summary: Paul and his long time buddy Jay find a door buried in his backyard that opens onto an uncanny, impossible space filled with empty books, endless identical rooms, and a silent, expressionless giant announced by the sound of a giant bell. To survive, they have to discern the Between's hidden logic which might be connected to a long-forgotten text-based online game from the early days of the internet. (Part of the fun is not quite knowing if this is sci-fi, fantasy, horror, or just straight weird fiction...)
