i think if we're talking about transandrophobia there needs to be conversation about how penis creating bottom surgery, and especially phalloplasty, are discussed and received by people, including other trans people. it goes along with societys and the queer/trans communitys obsession with feminizing trans men. the idea that we would even WANT a penis, let alone a "sub par," "fake" penis just proves that we're evil and "mentally ill" people. have yall seen how people, including other trans men, talk about phalloplasty? where people who want or have had phalloplasty can see it? there was a long winded rant on reddit on the "detrans" sub titled "phalloplasty is an abomination," with just loads of hateful rhetoric inside. and thats just OUTSIDE of trans online forums. theres people who are in transmasc/trans man spaces, INCLUDING OTHEE TRANS MEN, who are out here demonizing phalloplasty because they "dont like the aesthetics," "its not advanced," "its experimental," and if you ask them about it it just boils down to that it doesnt behave or look like a cis penis when it can and does (and no, im not counting that phallo dicks may need external or internal erectile devices, cis men get those too and it still gets hard from that. phallo dicks look and act like cis penises). have you seen how people talk to trans men who HAVE HAD phallo? go into the comments section of a creator who has had phalloplasty. "youve mutilated yourself for a flesh tube that can only piss" and "it will never be a real penis." someone personally told my wife "why would you be with a fake man with a fake dick?? at that point go date a real man!!" when she said in the comments section of a video of a trans man who had phallo that shes super excited for me to have it done. beyond that, as a trans man seeking phalloplasty, and specifically phalloplasty with vaginectomy (its more accepted by the wider community if you keep your vagina, but im getting rid of mine) with burial with the idea of just having a cis passing penis, ive definitely had to worry if id be welcome in trans spaces anymore after my surgery, or if id be accepted at all, and not just tolerated, because so many trans people fucking hate phalloplasty so much and you just cant help but worry, especially when youve already been made to feel unwelcome for not feminizing yourself for other peoples comfort as a trans man. all this and phallo cocks are desexualized, people dont want to view them as genitals, they just see trans men with phalloplasty as something not trans, not cis, not a man or a woman, but a failure to conform to femininity, a waste of a woman and a waste of a trans man, as something completely inhuman

this is about 1/3 of a fully formed thought but I'm so tired of "healthy masculinity" meaning "willing to emulate femininity and then laugh about it". It gives the vibe that either a. men being feminine is a joke and funny, or b. that b. there is no healthy masculinity and all men should be feminine.

Great news guys 🎉
So if women wear makeup at work we’re “frivolous” and it harms our leadership chances.. but if we don’t wear makeup we are being unprofessional and are deemed less competent.
So we just need to think of a way for women to not have faces and we’re all set 🤔

"All monsters must die bloody, and by a hero's hands, and soon," he says over brunch.
He doesn't think it's a rude thing to say in front of a monster. There are no rude things to say to monsters, only rude things monsters say.
"Don't worry," she says between bites, "You're one of the good ones."
"But I am still a monster," I do not say. I do not say that I love my claws and teeth, my prehensile shadow and my glowing eyes. That I cannot imagine giving them up even for survival, that to hide my shadow and trim my claws for them makes me feel diminished. In public I cannot say that I do not wish to be human.
They're progressives, this bunch, even if he carries a hero's banner with its proud history and none of them ask him to put it away. They know there are good monsters, monsters who can speak eloquently and hold the fork right, monsters you can be seen with in public. Some of their best friends are monsters.
They do not know the monster who is invited to brunch knows solidarity with the monster who is not. Believes and understands the monster who is not invited more than the human who does the inviting.
"Isn't that a little harsh?" says a third human, and I have not forgotten I am outnumbered. "We have ways of killing monsters without blood now, painlessly. And, of course, a monster should be allowed to live if it never growls."
He has never seen me growl. Yet how loudly and endlessly I will, when I'm out of earshot. He's talking about killing monsters who cannot stoop to civility, about mother and brother and lover who were never able to mute themselves like me, and does he not know how small a child who can only growl is?
"To growl is not to kill," I say, and all heads turn toward me. It is one of those rude things monsters say.

i was fearmongered to a lot about how going on t and having my breasts removed would make me ugly. i was a decently pretty girl with a button nose and a perfect cupid's bow, hips and tits like you wouldn't believe. and i decided i'd rather be an ugly man than a pretty woman. uhhh, turns out? i'm an incredibly sexy man. i'm not conventionally attractive anymore, but i'm the most gorgeous faggot i've ever seen. i think i understand how narcissus felt. i'm fat and i have a beard and i wear sparkly, dangly earrings. i shave my head bald every summer and grow it out in the winter and i've fallen completely in love with myself. i'm more beautiful than i've ever been and it's all thanks to testosterone and chopping off my tits.
Immediately reminded me of this piece by @forcemascpropaganda

There was a character in a book I read once who was described as "handsomely fat" and that phrase is stuck in my brain forever. The author really was like "no shut up, they're charismatic, they're good-looking, they're handsomely fat. not just handsome AND fat; them being fat is directly contributing to their good looks. you agree." and they were RIGHT

i have a lot of little grievances so strap in
1.) The least consequential one is how little porn there is for dom/top transmascs. On the rare occasion you do find porn featuring trans men, he'll always be the bottom. The most you'll find us is in gay porn as the bottom. Even in T4T porn with transfems, 9 times out of 10, the transmasc will be bottoming. (I have yet to find porn featuring a trans man and cis woman) While I don't consider bottoming inherently feminine, it's not lost on me that we've been designated to a sexual role that has historically been considered such.
2.) I dislike how we're expected to take on the sins of all men as soon a we transition. I didn't spend the first 20 years of my life as a second class citizen, being sexually assaulted since the age of 11, talked over, and infantilized, just to be told I have no negative experience with the patriarchy. That i couldn't possibly know how women feel. It's not misgendering myself to say i have experienced and still do experience mysogyny.
3.) The way transfems are seen as the default and transmascs are just an offshoot. This can be seen both online and irl. Subreddits designed for all trans people will default to transfem. I've met multiple people irl who didn't know trans men existed, that being trans was a trans woman thing.
4.) Historical transmascs are treated like shit. Even if the figure in question explicitly states "i like wearing mens clothes, i have a man's name, and if anyone calls me a woman i'll kill them" historians will act like its up for interpretation that they could be trans. Our historical achievements are rarely acknowledged, either. When was the last time Reed Erickson has been brought up? Lou Sullivan? Leslie Feinberg? I'm black so i've given up on having any black transmasc historical figures acknowledged . We're either designated under the "Girlboss" archetype, or completely erased.
ok thats all i have rn sorry for the big list bye bye!
I was gonna post this with a "." but I'm actually incredibly interested in the last point. Only black transmasc historical figure I can think of is the stud whose arrest started stonewall and idk if that would even count so I'd love to hear of more examples if possible!

Excerpt from Female-to-Male Transsexualism (1983): historical, clinical, and theoretical issues by Leslie Martin Lothstein.
Even back in the 1980s, psychologists knew that FTM individuals existed throughout history, through unsurprisingly, the book refers to (what we now call) trans men as "male impersonators" or "female transsexuals".
Thoughts?

Affirmations for writers <3
Language is just a formal system and all of its elements are made up
Platonism isn't real
Words do not have independent reality
Words aren't real and can't hurt you
Words aren't real and can't hurt you
Words definitely aren't real and they definitely can't hurt me you so there's nothing to worry about

hi my name is anonymous asker, but you can call me anon. i'm a big fan of your posts and i couldn't help but notice in your latest one that you failed to clarify a couple points. one with good faith would fill these blanks, but as someone who values journalistic integrity i must ask if you actually support the act of launching the state of connecticut into the sun for fun?

Isekai'd Japanese high schooler: in our world we don't have anything like kings and princesses
Dude, I know Japanese education is better than you not knowing the Japanese Imperial Family exists, or that other countries on earth do in fact have monarchies.
