I hope you feel like such a clown after everything that’s happened recently. You’re a joke, have always been a joke, and only now are you forced to come to terms with those facts.
What I've posted on this blog over the years, I don't regret saying any of it.

Do you have any opinions on their latest fanfiction video?
Good for them for getting that sponsorship money I guess

It seems like you don't even like them why do you have a page about them then lol
I do like them, that's why I've had this blog for over 6 years... What I didn't particularly like was Dan's most recent solo projects, or rather his attitude towards his audience. I'm happy the gaming channel is back, I really enjoy DP's joint content.

I like it when the general public is like 'we don't know anything about dnp they are very private :)" meanwhile phannies keep begging Mr. No fucks left and Mr. Rpf is fine to stop talking about their sex life on youtube dot com

Ngl as someone who wrote Dan and Phil fanfics….and has sjnce deleted them. I cringe at the fics I used to write, like damn I regret writing those fics. Mostly because, looking back if I were Dan or Phil, I would be heavily disturbed by the stories I wrote. They werent too bad, but looking back I’m so glad they (hopefully) never found or read them.
Anon, I think it shows great self-reflection and growth that you're able to look back on all that
It's a pity that so many people in this fandom absolutely refuse to even acknowledge the negative implications of RPF

What Phil says: "This is what I think: fanfiction - as long as you're not being too creepy with it, because there's a line, everyone knows what those lines are, don't cross the line - I think it's a great way for people to express their creativity and also read more. Because it's hard to get people to read nowadays. And if you're reading a fanfic, that is increasing your attention span a lot more than a tiktok. So I… I don't think it's a bad thing. I think obviously the lines are blurred a bit when you're writing about real people, and each individual might feel different levels of comfort about the fact that they're being shipped with a fictional character or another YouTuber. I think that's more of a strange gray area. But for me, if you're not being too weird, I'm alright with it."
What fanfic writers hear: be as creepy as you want - cross all the lines - RPF is an amazing thing - be weird - I love it

How much time do you think dan and phil have left before most of their fans find a new hobby and they become irrevelant?
i guess it depends on your definition of 'irrelevant'? the peak of d&p's career was around 2016. a lot has changed since then, but they're still here, and people are still following them. i'm sure they'll be able to maintain a (perhaps smaller, but still) solid audience in the future as well, if they want to.

Ok so do you THINK PHAN IS REAL OR DO YOU THINK PHAN IS NOT REAL? thank you goodbye
dear anon, no offense (full offense) but i genuinely canNOT believe we're having tHiS discourse in the year of our lord 2024
dan himself said in his coming out video that he and phil used to be romantically involved; cue 5 years later, they're still living together. DO I THINK PHAN IS REAL OR NOT??? take a wild guess lmfao

I agree that Dan's idea for a series was interesting, but unfortunately it was way too self-indulgent and not very original. Just an example: Look Both Ways was released on Netflix last year, and there are plenty other examples of parallel/alternate reality type stories, it's not exactly groundbreaking stuff.
What baffles me though is that if he'd reeally wanted to tell that story, he could've done it by turning it into a novel or a play (or both). Could've published it as a new book and/or could've performed it as a one-man show and I'm sure people would've been interested in buying the script too. And who knows, maybe later a series might have become possible (thinking of how Fleabag was made)
But no, as soon as it turned out his original idea wasn't going to happen, Dan just... Gave up the whole thing...? And decided to write a google-flavoured mental health advice book instead? And put together whatever doomscrolling stand-up(?) comedy(?) he's doing right now? What. Just. What. The fact that he didn't try to adapt his original story to a different form makes me think that A) he didn't even have a lot of material to begin with, just vague ideas (in which case, nothing of value was lost) or that B) he didn't really want to *tell a story*, he basically just wanted to star in a TV show and become an ~acteur~ (in which case, good riddance)
unpopular opinion but i honestly think dan's show is kinda an interesting idea..... like if it were to be made and wasn't specifically about dan but a character that had the whole lawyer/sexuality crisis thing sorta like him with some sort of revelation or twist at the end then yeah i could imagine people tuning in bc ppl tune into the most slice of life of shows. however, if it was like advertised as a story based on dan howell's life and like some biopic almost then that just sounds overly pretentious and who tf would wanna watch lmao
Exactly like it's not a bad idea but the only people who are gonna watch it are the 6 phannies who still keep up with his every move. If he wants people to watch it, he's gotta tweak it to not be about himself specifically. Go the "inspired by" route with it, not the storytelling route

as someone who doesn't actively follow dodie (i've listened to a few of her songs in 2018 but that's it) it was a pleasant surprise to see her in dan's new video, it would've been really nice to hear what she's up to... except dan barely let her speak like what the fuck
Right? It was disappointing ngl

have you seen this article wate com/news/you-cant-give-up-daniel-howell-speaks-on-mental-health/
This was one of the better articles I've read about Dan and his tour promo (shame it's geo-blocked). It's funny though how Dan's described as a "powerhouse for mental health advocacy" and then he goes, "I think the more vulnerable you’re being on stage, the funnier what you’re talking about is. - The fact that this is the philosophy behind his comedy explains a lot. And I can finally articulate why I feel uncomfortable with his current style of content: it's true that by opening up about some your issues as a celebrity, you can be a positive role model for your fans, but as a comedian, it's NOT vulnerability that makes you funny in my opinion. Plenty of comedians keep private about their vulnerable issues and are still able to entertain and make people laugh. Like, why is ~keeping things inside until you explode~ vs. literally broadcastig your mental breakdown to the whole world the only two options? You should be able to be funny without tapping into your trauma all the time. If you need to be vulnerable to be funny, that means you're not a very good comedian, sorry.

I’m in my 20s finishing my masters degree and the thought of hanging out with 16-18 year olds especially with any romantic subtext makes my skin crawl but again that’s just me too. It’s a pretty common feeling though at least these days. Again, 2008/2009 was probably different. You’re definitely right they made some life decisions that are definitely risky af and would be questionable and they were very lucky it turned out well.
I’ve just been thinking that we do recently have become much more conscious of potential issues with dating fans in particular, and especially really young ones. We probably didn’t have that awareness in 2009.
Not sure if your second paragraph is still about Dan and Phil, I'd be careful with generalized statements like that.

Does anyone else feel weird about the way D&P met and the age gap? I don’t want to say Dan was groomed necessarily but they started talking online when before Dan was even 18 and met literally right after, Phil seems to have had an intimate relationship with Charlie who was even younger than Dan, and Dan was obviously a fan previously. I don’t want to cancel Phil or whatever but I’ve just been thinking if that happened in 2022 we would probably be upset about it.
I don't know enough about the specifics to judge this. What's for sure is that the world (and the internet) has changed a lot since then; it's become much safer to meet up with people from online, but at the same time, some other things are definitely not appropriate any more (shit like draw Phil naked for example)
Re: age gap - if I were in my early 20s finishing my master's degree, I'd have zero interest in making friends with high schoolers, even if we were both legally adults. But that's just me, and many people would see no problem with it actually. People making clear "minors don't interact" statements on their blogs and such is a relatively new thing. I'm saying this just to draw attention to the fact that the time when DP met back in the day was... different.
Now, dropping out of university without a job or any qualifications in order to move in with and make videos and play video games with your internet friend has gotta be one of the absolute worst, most brain dead, risky AF life decisions you could ever make. This is how people end up in human trafficking. Dan and Phil were both incredibly lucky that it all turned out well, because their whole thing could've gone terribly wrong in so many ways.

i think dan tiktok will flop because he’s either trying to be relevant and Like The Youths or he’s making fun of it. there’s no genuine content there. i think phil would be great at tiktok because he wouldn’t be trying to do anything, or promote anything, or make a point about anything. he’d just like… chat, or ask questions, or duet things to react to them. it would be funny id watch philtok
You're probably right. I checked out what Dan's uploaded so far and it's basically tour promo. Mehh. I don't think he knows how tiktok works. (Me neither tbh and I refuse to find out)

Re: "why else would anyone go to the show if they weren't familiar with him?"
Because going to a show is not always about buying a ticket months in advance and counting the days to see your idol in person
People go to all sorts of cultural events without being too familiar with the performers/artists. All that's required is time and money and curiosity/a need for entertainment on that particular day.
You can enjoy the exhibition of a painter you've never heard of, an obscure folk music concert, a ballet performance etc. regardless how much you know about the artists themselves. Ideally you can also enjoy a stand-up comedy show regardless how much you know about the comedian.
Except Dan's stand-up show relies a lot on the audience's previous knowledge, so it won't do much for people who don't already know him. A guy who's been writing reviews of stand-up shows for 20 years drew attention to this in their review, which seems fair to me.
"all he did was point out that the show probably wouldn’t appeal to people who weren’t familiar with Dan" I don't get his point here though because why else would anyone go to the show if they weren't familiar with him?
Thing is that Dan hasn't been promoting this as an extension of his YouTube channel or a tour aimed only at fans. He's been advertising it as a comedy show, he's abandoned the branding most of his audience knew him for, he's slagged off and blamed his audience for his every problem, and he clearly sees this tour as being something a lot more substantial and impactful than it actually is.
If his whole purpose of the tour is to shed his dan and Phil branding and reach out on his own, he shouldn't be wholly relying on the affection his audience had left over from that to carry him.
Also there is a good chance his management team asked the reviewer to come so they could use it in the promo of the American leg if it was good.
