I’m already seeing very Islamophobic comments on twitter because of Ramadan, so I just want to tell all my fellow Muslims to be safe, and have patience. The whole point of Ramadan is to resist temptation, so know that we will continue to face these obstacles everyday because we unfortunately live in a world filled with ignorant people. I’ve also seen people intentionally posting pictures of bacon.

That being said, be calm. Be respectful. Be good to those who mistreat you as well. Be the better person. Because you can’t reason with ignorance. They will never learn.

my mom is an abusive, homophobic terrible woman and i am running away from her. she had kicked me out for showing any sign of liking women and she has hung the threat of what essentially amounts to conversion therapy over my head for years. I’ve never been out before, because I’m terrified of getting beat (which she has done before for finding messages between me and an ex girlfriend) or getting kicked out or disowned or never being allowed to see my family again. everyone in my family feels the same as she does, and will support her in punishing me until i “stop being gay.” I’m 23 and she won’t even let me learn to drive and won’t tell me why, I suspect it’s so that I can stay dependent on her for longer. If I go back there, I’ll just be treated like a child and be forced to go to conversion therapy.

I want to be independent of her and my stupid family. I have a job and I can qualify for an apartment, but I need help with the down payment. I’ve already asked the lgbt group at my university, but they weren’t able to give me the funds, as most of their grant money has run out. If anyone could give me any little amount that could help me save towards the down payment, I’d be so grateful. Even a dollar helps.

Also! Sushi is getting very old now! Im a little sad as she’s not as vibrant as she could normally be, but she is still a very active and happy girl :)

Mushu apparently has a small mouth, so he cant eat the normal sized pellets the others get. So I got him some smaller ones and he’s doing a lot better with those! Kind of worried about giving him any worms though, since he has such trouble with pellets…
