Need 2 write my essay on roses symbolizing lovebombing/rose colored vision/rosemary being unknowingly dragged back into the cult in rosemarys baby. Because it'd very important to me that the creel dining room has blank orange wallpaper- as opposed to the rosey imagery we get for most other places in that house- when henry realizes who his mother really is (virginia no longer being in pale pink as well but orange gingham), compared to the wheeler urn going from having similar pale pink roses to the creel entry way to completely changing to blank yellow after the aftermath of st4. And also the wheeler dining room being yellow "obscured' by rose designs as well. "Are those roses for mrs or mr wheeler". "She always hated me". Grrr gahhhhh.

Why are so many of you so comfortable with attacking complete strangers on the internet
If you wouldn't approach a random stranger on the street and say those kinds of things to them, but you feel completely comfortable saying those kinds of things to a perfect stranger on the internet (behind the safety of a screen free of consequences for your words), maybe you need to take a good long look in the mirror and revaluate your life.

St3 gave such stage managed vibes that I half expect a reveal that it was a flase flag operation and Brenner orchestrated that season to some capacity.

The more I sit on the oedipus stuff in ST the more I realize it's simply not just about the mommy issues. I mean, it's there, but it's more than that. The theme of the story wasn't don't fuck your mom, it was a cautionary tale about being so arrogant and blind to the fact that you are part of the problem. In fact, Oedipus fancied himself as the hero and king of Thebes, and never for one second thought he was the source of Thebes' curse until it was revealed to him and he gouged out his eyes from despair.
When we think about the Oedipus complex, or just general mommy issues, we think about horror villains/freaks like Norman Bates or Jason Voorhees or even Billy Loomis (which I believe are all referenced in ST re Billy Hargrove and Jason Carver and Henry Creel possibly being Norman Bates, but Norman Bates canonically has more relation to the name Edward as we see in Psycho 4). We think of maladjusted serial killers, psychopaths, and villains.
But Oedipus Rex isn't about a villain. It's a play about an arrogant hero who thought he could defy destiny (and the ancient greeks were pious about this type of stuff), who is so self righteous that he thought he could never be part of the problem. He projected the blame onto others around him (namely, the seer). He could not take culpability until he was forced to by the truth. He could never believe that he was the monster.
*stares at vecnas fondness at holding up the mirror* And just think thats neat.
