"I'll say! It seems like folks are switching bodies... Something like that, anyway. It doesn't seem to affect me strangely enough. As for everyone around me... Well, I'm sure you get the idea."

"Is it me or is everyone acting weird?"

Fortunately, Roll had two sticks to light, so once they're properly lit, she held one of the other lit sparklers to Mercedes.

"Well then: here! They die out kind of quick, but they're heaps fun to play with! And if you have a camera equipped with it: long exposures of these are extra fun."

With some really intense focus, she manages to make a flame just small enough to hopefully spark it. Thankfully her efforts are rewarded!

"How wonderful! I've never seen anything like this before!"

"Oh, heck yeah!" Well, now Roll was excited, "Hit me with your best shot!...Well, not me: the sparkler!"

"I don't have a lighter, but I do have a fire spell!" Just a small one should be fine, right? "I think it would work!"

"It's summer! And while I'm not a big fan of fireworks: they have started stocking sparklers!" Just one issue. "Does anyone have a lighter?"

"This is Crystalman! He's...Uh...Really good at making fabricated crystals and turning them for a profit." It was pretty scammy if you asked her... "He also tells fortunes, like...Crystal ball style!"

"Sh---Shush!" If he wasn't going to lecture her, it was her place to! Besides, carrying all that with no help was pretty reckless on his part, all things considered.

She would quickly shake off any embarrassment to take his hand and be pulled back up once more! Whatever that exsphere was made of, sure did seem to help getting her back on the ground, too!

"D'aw! You know how it is, people come and go, but I'm here now!" You'd forget she was even lecturing him just moments ago with the total 180 in her tone shift! Though, she was maybe a bit exasperated...The situation played out quite comically.

"Onward! To the supermarket!" Roll charged forward, keeping a brisk pace, "There are street cleaning robots on this street, they'll get to that garbage eventually!" She tells herself, to cope with leaving behind a rather massive mess.

"What's the budget I'm working with, Lloyd? Dr.Light's books are a bit out of whack thanks to Auto, so that'd help me a lot!"

Despite his shouting, it quickly came apparent that Roll wasn't going to be able to slow down in time; almost instantly plowing into Lloyd and sending him flying. It was quite impressive, really! The way the brunette spun around in the air, his bag of groceries ripped open and splaying across the cobblestone below like some sort of art piece. It might have felt like time had slowed while he was flying, but it took none whatsoever before he hit the ground; landing with a harsh groan and probably squishing anything left from his haul that might've been salvagable.

"Ugghh.." it was lucky that Lloyd had the full use of his Exsphere back-- if he didn't have anything protecting his body, who knows what kind of injuries he'd be walking away with after a force like that! Though it was taking him a minute to collect himself, he was sure he seemed mostly unscathed.. other than the various bumps and bruises he was sure to have all over the back of his head. Managing to sit up eventually, he raised a hand to the back of his head, and--

Well, there was Roll just a few feet away from him, having landed upside down and already lecturing him. Maybe he had every right to yell at her for what happened, but after rubbing his head and giving her a second to say her piece..

".. pfft.. hahaha!"

Lloyd was doubled over, laughing harder than his ribs could take it in that moment.

"Seriously, you crashed into me, and I'm the one gettin' the lecture? How the heck is that fair?" but there was no malice, no lick of annoyance to his words as the swordsman continued to laugh, slowly pulling himself off of the sidewalk. "Well, I guess goin' back to shop won't be so bad.. especially since I have that second pair of hands now. You're probably gonna show me how to do everything right this time, huh?"

Walking over to the girl, Lloyd extended his hand; bending down to help Roll up as he smiled from ear to ear.

"Welcome back, Roll. I missed you!"

"Sure is! And that's a shame, I'd love to learn." And Magicman isn't one to tell his secrets, so that's out.

"We can do magic. Saw me in half."

"Isn't magic great? If we were where I learned to do my magic, you'd probably be able to do it, too. I'd share, if I could."

"Agreed. The end result was lackluster at best." The girl pulled at the hem of her dress...This problem solving session needed just one thing to finish out, though! "Why don't you grab a pastry? My treat, for the misunderstanding and all!"

"And don't you worry about that! I'm pretty sure the city-wide festival is going to begin soon. And I vaguely remember something about a cruise with an escape room. Maybe we'll cross paths then, and that'll put some real brain power to the test."

"You have an eye for aesthetics! I approve."

That approval quickly morphed into a look of surprise shot at the cashier, who met his gaze and shrugged. "Why should I ruin your fun?" they replied, which either confirmed the child's guess or indicated they were never going to be told the right one.

"...Well. That didn't have much intrigue to it," he grumbled, accepting this result. "At least we've discovered you are also quite the mystery solver! If only there was something more exciting to try your capabilities against..."
