So, I've been sleeping on Cassette Beasts and found a few days of free time between some important projects and gave it a try.

THIS GAME IS GREAT OH MY GOD

So of course, I needed to draw a crossover of my previous hyperfixation with Cassette Beasts because why not

Netto isn't used to the fact that he can't pull as many back-to-back all-nighters quite like he used to when he was in his 20s... Luckily, Saito is always there to yell at his idiot twin brother to go to bed. It's time for sleep when Netto stops being able to identify what numbers mean anymore (he's looking at his notes for the ship's proposed budget for the next fiscal year. It says so at the top of the page. At this level of sleep deprivation he might be seeing multiple versions of the paper overlayed on top of each other at this point...)

First time drawing Saito for the AU! Reusing a design I created for an earlier (and unrelated) AU, mostly because I still like it a lot. Mostly to show off his bangs and family resemblance. He probably looks in his 20s, 100% as a result of Netto giving him an updated digital model back in college.

Also, first look at Netto's Lichtenberg scars I've planned for him in my head since the beginning :3 The amount of times this man touched unregulated electronic equipment (AND GENERATORS) barehanded as a child resulted in extensive scars on his hands. It's ok! He's only missing some feeling in his hands, not all feeling!

Lifes been a lot, so take some doodles of Adult Netto without his bandana on! He's got so much hair that it basically just FLOPS down instead of remaining spikey like it did when he was a kid. He mostly just lets it be but sometimes he put its up in messy ponytails or buns, sometimes pins up the bangs if they get too annoying...

Plus, heres a closeup of the cute little TechStar doodle I did in the corner. I'm trying to get better at drawing people interacting so... snuggle time. (Even when theyre supposed to be getting ready to sleep, Netto's reading. He's probably going over research notes like a nerd. Subaru doesn't mind bc at least hes not at his desk doing it!)

Progress so far!

Overall, hes going together much easier than the premium charge shot version of Saito, but he feels super fragile in comparison. A lot of stuff isnt hard clicking together but is instead just kinda sliding on... which while makes it easier, also makes me a little worried that pieces might come off easier than theyre meant to. Well find out later!

Netto doodles and notes from my TechStar Adult AU... these aren't new I drew them yesterday I just didn't post them LMAO

I've felt so off and spacey for the last like 2 weeks and at this point and It's because I'm mentally juggling like 8 separate things right hahahaha man do I wish I can just chill out and draw Netto and Subaru that'd be so nice. Oh well, doodles be upon ye.

Not an official (or good) height chart, but heres the heights of Subaru and Netto in my TechStar Adult AU.

I dont have their shape language down 100%, but overall I wanted Subaru to look bulky but simple, almost tactical, while Netto looks slim but flowy, dramatic, and showy, but also unassuming. Subaru's outfit is a uniform, and is intended for identification, but Netto's outfit is generic and intentionally misdirecting- showcasing his perceived lack of strength and more academic or scholarly nature. Both are meant to be subversions of who they are as people- Subaru looks intimidating but is a big softie, while Netto looks simple, professional, and almost gentle while in reality he is a mad scientist with a flare for the dramatics. They're meant to compliment eachother too- Subaru's outfit is meant to be bottom heavy, with his large shorts and boots, and Netto's is top heavy, draping fabric hiding his form at the top before slendering down past his waist.

If you can't tell, I've thought about these two too much LMAOO

Hey guys. Guess who caved and bought the Bass.EXE kotobukiya model kit.

Me.

IT'S OK I PROMISE IN AM IN A FINANCIALLY STABLE POSITION TO BE SPENDING MONEY My old man said he'd defend my honor (aka back me up on ny impulsive purchasing decision) as long as I put 20% of every paycheck I get into my savings account so I've been doing that. Pretty good financial advice if you have the luxury of getting to save good chunks of your paychecks. I'm very fortunate to be able to do so, and I'm trying my best to save as much money as I can... even if me buying this kit doesn't look like it LMAO. I am impulsive but I'm very conscious of that, and every purchase I make has a lot of deliberation involved in it (30 minutes minimum, usually, of internal debate), so when I do make big purchases like this, it's the result of days of thinking and extensive use of a calculator. So even though he is a bit pricey (and to be honest, I did NOT buy him from Kotobukiya's site itself, instead from a rather trusted distributor where I ended up paying less than I would have on the official site), I feel rather comfortable in my decision knowing that I calculated my spending and everything to be accomodating of the purchase and know where my finances stand for the next month or so. Let me be a showcase that you can spend impulsively... responsibly LMAO.

ANYWAY it is officially being shipped to me (YAY) and once I get it I'm actually going to live update yall on the building process like I originally said I was gonna do with nightmare zero. Maybe I can get up a recording to show the building in a timelapse? Idk. I know he's gonna take me some time to build tho because... my boy looks complicated as HELL. But hes cool soooooo WORTH IT!!

i just found out that kotobukiya is releasing a Bass.EXE model kit LITERALLY NEXT MONTH HOW DID I NOT KNOW- he looks sooo good but on kotobukiya and US selling sites he is $96.99 and, while i do currently have a job and make money, i dont make THAT much money.... but he looks so coool..... fdgjdasfgha

eternally cursed to be sad i guess LOLLLL im not letting myself make any drastic financial decisions right now because it's late but man if i had more expendable cash god knows I'd be preordering his ass right this damn second. I'm having a bit too much fun with model kits right now and that dude has a poseable cloak. I need him but I also need to save money.

I got super busy this past week and will continue to be busy through this week, here's some doodles of me trying to figure out how to draw adult Subaru i swear to god THIS MAN DOESN'T WANT TO BE DRAWN WHY IS HE SO HARD-

I got to doodle a bit traditionally at work today, so i figured I've drawn enough little doodles to share :3 Here's my adult Netto design! For when he's in his 30s and married to Subaru. And 200+ years in the future. I mean, they won't realize hes the same Netto from 200 years ago if his last name is different, yeah?

The vibe I'm working with is keeping his very spirited energy and personality. Hes loud and extroverted as all hell and he WILL talk your ears off for hours about his experiments, or his projects, or his husband, or his kid... you get the picture LOL

Some of the doodles are like. Bad. But its fine because the point of a sketchbook is to sketch and practice! Not everything I make will be perfect but it's ok :3 makes the things that turned out well look even better in comparison!

Hope these doodles appease the gods until I can have a proper sit down and draw him and Subaru next to eachother again LOL.
