THESE were rare moments. Blue Eyes was not an affectionate dragon--dragons rarely were so--but sometimes it was nice to feel the soft hands of the one you protected. And he, too, was not the affectionate type, but it was warming, in a sense, to know he would spare some to the dragon when he felt it necessary or had the time. He was busy when not dueling after all.

The dragon did not care what the other thought of it. It was a dragon, a being who had much larger concerns than to worry itself on those matters. It would admit, however, that it did feel smug whenever he complimented, whether the magnificent glittering scales or the powerful wings that surely could fly to the moon. This time was no different.

     Wᴇʟʟ Aren’t you one smug bastard about all this? Still, it feels good to have the cool scales of the dragon’s against your fingertips. Familiar, somehow, despite only feeling this usually through hard-light holograms. You’ll question this meeting in a moment but for now you’re content to stroke its face with an unusual tenderness in your touch and a rare smile on your face.      “Good girl…” You’ve always called it that, despite the gender of such a creature being unknowable to you…like a captain of a ship or a particularly proud car owner. The dragon has never been a mere vehicle for you of course, not unless you count it as being one of the things that drove you to strive for ever greater things, an ever greater life. Which you did.

BLUE eyes watched ever so carefully at the hand, considering it, contemplating on what the other wanted before allowing him to touch its’ white scales. It was not so much an allowance; whatever the other wanted to do the dragon would be more than willing to do it.

     Gᴏᴏᴅ You reach your hand out to the creature with your usual air of confidence, tinged with pride, of course. Who wouldn’t be when confronted by such a fearsome beast that was as much a part of you as your brother?      “…Heh.”

I drew this without a reference, so I apologize for any inconsistencies. This is only the third time or so I’ve drawn BEWD, so I haven’t memorized the design quite yet.
