tips:

1. don’t. it sucks so much, dude.

2. tell your friends and the people you’re friendly with who live near you. they will want to help.

3. don’t work, at least until your fever goes down. yes, that includes the kind of work where you do more brain stuff than physical stuff. it can have lasting consequences. don’t do it. just catch up on your shows and read an old favorite book. I mean it!!

4. also don’t exercise, for the same reason. I know it seems counterintuitive, but it isn’t. the best thing you can do is rest.

5. sleep as much as you can, drink as much water as you can.

6. if you find yourself having the worst sore throat of your LIFE, so bad that even sips of water and breathing hurts, and nothing you’re trying is easing the pain (herbal tea, warm water with honey, gargling saltwater, taking probably too much ibuprofen, etc), the only thing that might save your ass is aloe vera juice.

7. try not to slam the juice. it’s also a mild digestive aid, and going ham could give you… other problems.

8. try as I might, I can’t for the life of me figure out how long I’ll be contagious. sources say anything from five days (what? no) to two weeks. it’s been five years. why don’t we know. this isn’t a tip, lol sorry.

9. be kind to yourself. it’s the only body you’ve got, babe.
