Could you write a Whumpee passing out for the first time and not knowing what is happening to them? Their vision blacks out and they call out to Caretaker in a panic saying that they can't see. Caretaker immediately springs into action lowering them to the floor and comforting them while trying to keep them conscious.
Hiya! Thank ye so much for yer ask/prompt!
Yer wish is my command.
_
Whumpee feels like they have been run over by a tank, but they are holding on. They always do. Their body throbs and hurts, and with every step they take, they feel worse. But caretaker's office is close, they just need to be patched up and to bed they go.
Dark spots are dancing in their vision, making it hard to see.
Their palms get sweaty as they hold onto the door frame of caretaker's office.
The adrenaline finally leaves their body, leaving them in pain and exhaustion.
As their ears start ringing and their body grows weaker, they manage a grunt. "Caretaker?", whumpee rasps, panic growing in their chest as their vision blacks out and their knees grow weak.
A simple question repeats itself in their head - What is happening? What is happening to me?
Caretaker is at their side immediately, cradling them as good as they can and lowering them down as whumpee feels the comforting darkness take over.
When they snap back into reality, they are lying in caretaker's lap, who is measuring their pulse, a worried smile on their lips. "Too much, hm? You look like a ghost ..."
Whumpee looks up at them, squinting their eyes at the lights above the two of them. Their body feels weak and tired, the body still hurts, but not moving helps.
Their mouth is too dry to respond, so they just nod and close their eyes again, head resting on caretaker's lap for a few more moments. They are cold, but at least they are awake.

I’m all in for the multiple caretakers sharing a brain cell!
Things in sickfics I'd love to see
A sickie from a foreign country speaking their native language when delirious or asleep...or both. I honestly love the thought of foreign sickies temporarily forgetting their secondary language and reverting back to their mother tongue. Bonus points if they mumble about their illness in that language or the caretaker can't understand them.
Multiple caretakers...and all of them sorta suck at it. I can't just imagine the chaos, especially if one sucks at cooking and has to cook lmao.
Sickies waking up to someone they never saw in a while, probably thinking that person was dead or just because they miss the said person. THE FUCKING WHOLESOMNESS I CAN'T-
Caretakers just letting their sickies sleep during EVERYTHING the caretaker does. From taking temperatures to applying compresses to even feeding the sickie while the sickie is still sorta sleeping, the caretaker just wants their sickie to get some rest.
Singing to the sickie. Just imagine the wholesomness...

umm what about mock executions in whump
Whumpee forced to spend hours digging their own grave, only to be told they’re not going to be put in it….“this time”
A gun pointed directly at Whumpee’s head and the trigger pulled only to be revealed it’s not loaded
Team whump where everyone is blindfolded and shots ring out, then everyone is put back in separate cells and left to question who actually was killed (if anyone)
Whumpee is repeatedly strangled/suffocated/dunked beneath water justtt to the losing consciousness, then given a break long enough not to pass out. When they’re finally able to breathe enough to speak, Whumper forces them to beg for their life to be spared (Whumper was never planning on killing them to begin with)
Whumper smirking with malevolent satisfaction as a typically stoic Whumpee pleads for their life
ORRR a stoic Whumpee just stares them down over the barrel of the gun and Whumper begins to get frustrated that things aren’t going to plan
Whumpee dragged from their cell in the middle of the night, forced to kneel, and told they’ll be killed once the executioner arrives. They wait for hours on their knees before being taken back to their cell without explanation. Repeat for a week straight
What might Whumpee feel afterwards? On edge, convinced they could be killed any moment? Humiliated that they broke down in fear? Furious that Whumper played such a sick mind game on them? A twisted sense of gratitude that they were allowed to live?? Many options
a few dialogue prompts:
“No - no, I don’t wanna die, I don’t wanna die, please!”
Just - do it already! Just do it!”
“Oh, man - I’m kidding. You should’ve seen the look on your face!”
“I want all of you to remember this the next time you think you want to be all tough like Whumpee here.”
“Convince me.”

A teammate-Whumpee who had been so soft, fragile, and innocent prior to the kidnapping by the team’s enemy. Whumpee then escaping and managing to get back to their team.
They all treat and expect them to be just as innocent and soft as before, not realizing what they’d been through since Whumpee never spoke about it. And to be fair, they certainly look more small and frail after the time spent with Whumper’s mistreatment.
Then something happens where Whumpee is injured on a mission despite the team’s efforts to ‘keep their fragile teammate safe’. They all tiptoe around them, expecting them to be terrified/panic if they knew how bad the injury actually was. They use soothing words, refusing to tell them the details of how bad it looked.
Instead, Whumpee finally convinces one of them to ‘tell it to them straight’. And when they hear how bad it was, they shrug. They act completely nonchalant about it, to the team’s surprise. They react the exact opposite of how they’d expect their old Whumpee would have reacted to such an injury. Whumpee even wonders why they haven’t started the treatment yet, urging the medic of the team to get the stitches and gauze ready.
“We’re waiting for anesthetics. It will hurt worse, if we don’t.”
“And I’d rather you get it done and over with so we can continue the mission.”
“You’re hurt! It’s bad!”
“I’ve had worse.”
“I don’t think you understand just how-”
“I understand plenty. It doesn’t hurt nearly as bad as (insert way worse injury that the enemy gave them).”
And they all look on in horror because that was the first time Whumpee even suggested they’d been hurt that badly before.
And then as medic is working, they realize the amount of scars— both healed and just recently fading from the pink— littering Whumpee’s body and they realize ‘oh’. They hadn’t been harmed just that one time. It had been many. Tortured who knows how many times.

Can we please talk about a whumper who binds whumpee's arms. It doesn't just have to be behinds whumpee's back.
A whumpee who's arms are tapped down to their side
A whumpee who's arms bound in front of them.
A whumpee who's arms are linked to a collar. I mean they'll have no choice but to keep their arms raised or constantly bent because if they move their arms too much they'll choke themselves.
If a whumper binds a whumpee's arms behind their back, whumpee has no choice but to rely on whumper for everything. Hair in their face, whumpee has to ask whumper to move it. Whumpee wants food? Well either they'll eat out of whumper's hand or from a plate on the ground.

I wanna see a whumper deciding that whumpee’s clothes are too crumpled for the social event (likely after whumper manhandled them). So. Whumper uses a steamer while whumpee is still wearing the clothes.
If they don’t hold still through the burning, they’ll earn another punishment and the process starts all over again.

whumpee who knows they can’t die casually stitches their own wounds when caretaker comes in
“what- what happened?!”
“oh, i, uh, i got into an argument.”
“you’re bleeding!!”
“yeah, sorry about the mess.”
caretaker just sighs. they still can’t get used to whumpee coming home injured. ever since they lived that one time, they stopped caring about getting hit, but caretaker couldn’t stop worrying about them
“gosh, let me… let me help you, at least.”

“Why am I lying down?”
“Because you’re bleeding.”
“I can bleed sitting up.”
“I’m trying to prevent you from going into shock.”
“I don’t think it’s working.”
“I know. Shut up.”

@whumpril day 12: Dislocation
I am currently recovering from my fourth patella dislocation and thought sharing some of my experiences with them might of interest to whump writers:
The pain from an active dislocation is a weird combination of throbbing and radiating. It's actually kind of dull, but still some how paralyzing. During my most recent dislocation, even though my knee was the only thing actually hurting I couldn't move a muscle without aggravating it. The first time I had a dislocation, I bit my hand until I bled because the sharp pain from biting myself distracted me from the pain in my leg.
In my opinion, the pain is at it's worst right before the bone is relocated. The throbbing gets worse and you can feel a lot of pressure and then right as it relocates there is a really sharp pain that radiates right through you. It only lasts for like a second, but usually feels exactly like it did before the relocation for a few minutes afterwards. (during one of my dislocations I kept telling the EMT's that is hadn't relocated yet even though it had been because the pain was still so bad)
I can't speak for other joint dislocations, but at least with knees, it is really fucking obvious that it's dislocated from a visual stand point. Just imagine your knee cap on the side of your leg. That's as far as I'm willing to explain it.
At least with patellas, it is possible to relocate them on your own. I know at least two methods of doing it, but it takes a lot of will power to actually put yourself through that much pain and I've never been able to actual do it.
This may just be a reflection of my own personality, but it is well within possibility for a character to hide a dislocation (at least initially). I have never actually screamed or cried when I dislocated my patellas, the most vocal I've ever been is swearing under my breath. Twice I have dislocated it in a group of 30+ people and nobody noticed until I called for help. I don't think this is the normal reaction, but if your Whumpee is particularly quiet or stoic, they could pull that off.
I don't know if this is normal or not. But none of my dislocations have ever resulted in any bruising. My leg does swell up like a balloon though.
After this most recent dislocation, I was actually able to bend my leg and put some weight on it for several minutes after it was relocated. Once the adrenaline wore off though and swelling kicked in my muscles seized up and it took me 3 days before I could put weight on it again, and two weeks before I could bend my knee back to 90 degrees (4 weeks out I'm not back at full range of motion yet)
Will power is an incredible thing. When I had my third dislocation I was traveling alone and didn't have anyone to help me. I was able to stand, walk (well...hobble), drive, and was managing pain without any sort of pain killers for a full day until I found out someone was coming to help me out. The second I realized that I didn't have to keep pushing myself onwards, my leg literally gave out underneath me, and I could barely manage to get from my bed to the bathroom for the next couple of days.
When you are recovering from a dislocation, you can't really move the affected body part without a lot of pain. Which either means you're in pain all the time, or at least uncomfortable all the time. This because especially noticeable when you try to sleep (i.e. you don't)

five dialogue prompts for characters who have a hard time resting :)
"Don't sit up. You'll rip your stitches."
"You need to calm down. Your heart rate is spiking."
"Stop trying to get up. I don't want you fainting again."
"Lie back down, please. Your fever is too high for you to be moving around."
"I know we have to keep moving, but if we don't treat that wound now, it'll slow us down even more."

whumpee propped up against caretaker’s chest when the fever takes away all of their strength, lucid enough to enjoy some company
whumpee propped up against the pillows, eager to be active but unable to move around all that much; perhaps tomorrow they’ll be able to sit properly, at least
whumpee leaning on caretaker’s shoulder when they try to get up and walk for the first time since the injury
whumpee held up in a saddle, caretaker sitting behind them with their arm wrapped protectively around whumpee’s chest
whumpee sitting at the backseat of a car, their head pressed to the cool glass; they’re still shivering but caretaker’s coat’s warm and cozy, it feels like home, and they can’t help but relax
whumpee leaning on the table, eyes closed and breaths shaky, when a sudden fainting spell washes over them
whumpee sitting on the ground with their back against the wall, too weak to get up while the adrenaline wears off
