"This is not how I dreamed this up a thousand, thousand times... not one of the hundreds of plans and ideas I had ever included the sky being on fire, or us standing in the middle of all this insanity... but the truth is, if I keep waiting for the perfect time, its never going to come, and I am going to keep fucking things up and hurting you, and I am so damn tired of making the wrong choice. He took a breath, clearly realizing he was rambling, "Silone, with all of that and all the insanity, I love you more than anyone or anything in this world....."

"Will you marry me?"

"Yes," she said softly, nodding. "A thousand times, yes."

Hmmm... since you did not specify, and you already know the answer for several of my characters, I shall pick at random.

......... okay.... this is some 'had to screenshot it' kinda shenanigans....

You know what, screw it. This counts as a double answer with bonus.

Technical Winner:

Ikara: Ikara is the tiniest of fire geckos, but she is also fiercely protective of her loved ones. She will fight to protect her loved ones, but she also generally trusts them to handle things themselves. She will only step in if someone either asks for help, or clearly needs help and can't ask. She takes after her adoptive brother a lot though, and often retreats to hermit status because she feels she is the one they need protection from. Currently she is learning to fight with Beta instead of FOR him. It has been hard to see him in dangerous situations, but they have both grown a lot, and have learned to trust each other.

As for how she would like to be protected, she knows it is far too easy for someone like her to become jaded. Beta protects her by reminding her of the good she is fighting for, and by helping her remember to have fun.

Bonus Winner for reasons...

Soren: Soren is, perhaps, overprotective. Okay, who are we kidding? Soren is ridiculously overprotective and kinda can be an idiotic jerk about it. He is working on it, but he still has a ways to go. When it comes to helping protect others he will ask anyone he can for help doing so. He has absolutely no shame so long as the people he cares for are safe.

He is still learning how best to protect a romantic partner. His idea of protecting someone he is in a relationship with is less than ideal. It usually involves him pushing them away, or making himself the asshole to protect others.

Example: When he was breaking up with Lorelei his idea was, "Act like an asshole, then she'll be too mad to be hurt." Yea, that didn't pan out.

With Silone he is still making those same sort of missteps, and it got him nearly killed. Luckily she is no longer putting up with his shenanigans and he is trying to actually listen.

With her its less about protecting her from outside threats, and more about giving her somewhere safe to be all versions of herself.

For being such an over protective person, Soren dislikes being protected. He likes to muddle through things himself, and would rather screw up everything than accept help for himself. Normally it is easy to tell when he isn't okay, but he has learned new tricks to keep people from seeing that he needs help.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

(Oooh tough one. I let the dice pick the character I answered for)

L'ania:

L'ania is a little complicated. She has a big heart, and when she loves, she does so without holding back. She also can hold a place in her heart for multiple people in different ways simultaneously.

She is fine with commitment, but has found that all her attempts at monogamy have ended in failure and heartbreak, so it would take a lot to get her to attempt monogamy again. In her words, "I don't wan't an anchor nor to be anyone's anchor."

She is highly unlikely to ever be monogamous or married. Particularly since she is very happy with her current arrangement. There are only a couple situations that might make her change her mind on that. She grew up in a Seeker tribe, and so monogamy was never something she expected from a partner. She tried it a couple times and both times ended in heartbreak. She is now happily in an open, committed, relationship with Rune.

Aeritria: It takes a lot for Aeri to care about someone, but once she does there is nothing she wouldn't do to protect those people. She will cross any lines, and even do things she knows will make that person hate her if it means protecting them. She has no qualms being the villain if it keeps her people safe. This applies to anyone she cares about, family, friends, partners.

The most recent example of this was with her sister. Aeri is currently hunting someone particularly dangerous and intelligent who she knows mentally broke her sister before. Knowing Silone would try to help or come, she nearly killed Soren, stabbing him both in the lung and the back in front of her sister to prove Silone wasn't mentally ready to watch him die if something happened during this hunt. Were there better, healthier, more sane, ways to do this? Sure, but it was effective and that was what mattered.

As for how she likes to be protected, she doesn't. At least on the surface. On the surface she doesn't need anyone or anything. She will handle things on her own. However, the truth is that it isn't anything physical she needs protection from. She breaks down, lashes out, and pushes people away. The best way to protect her is to weather her storms and show her she won't be abandoned.
