my commute to work is about to become even longer because flooding washed out the ground under the tracks at one point so I've got an extra hour added onto my commute until they fix that so like I'm trying to get shit updated and all buy I'm exhausted.

Her snickering made him roll his eyes, almost fond about it. Of course she was a little shit. No wonder Jake liked her so much. "We could but how are we gonna know theye actually talked about it instead of just saying they did?" That wasn't exactly a conversation he wanted to overhear. Her question made him scrunch his nose, knowing she wasn't gonna like the answer. "As far as I know the list of people who know about Jake getting hurt is limited to his sister, Penny, Amelia, me and y'all. I'm not even sure he's told his brother yet."

She couldn’t help but snicker at the reaction that had earned her, taking a swig from her own beer. She didn’t think that they had hooked up but there was still a chance that it had happened and she had to bring it up. “We could try tricking them into a room alone together and lock them up in there until they actually have a conversation about it.” She knew that he had a point. “Does he know that Jake was hurt in the first place?” she asked curiously, that would explain a whole lot to her.

"Uh huh." He was sure that she was going to be okay but Bruce's concern about her had somehow rubbed off on him. Maybe that was just something she was capable of doing. He hummed softly as he gestured for her to lead the way, glad that she wasn't arguing with him on them. "Been in worse situations seems to be your thing."

“I won’t get hurt,” she assures him, hands planted on her hips, very sure of herself, “Been in worse situations. But if you wanna tag along I wouldn’t say no to some company.” She is very aware that there probably wasn’t much that she could say that would make him turn away.
