A painting I made, over a year ago at this point (time flies!), for Arvalastra and the great new album 'Meditation on the Lunar Steppes'. The album, available now and released on vinyl by His Wounds is currently only out as a limited-edition test press at this stage, using this painting as the exclusive test press cover (see the 2nd image).The painting will also be seen on the standard edition release, but in that instance on the interior - a release which I also designed the layout for too.

Here is a short behind-the-scenes video looking at my colouring process (using a sort of underpainting technique) for the artwork I made for Witherfang and their latest record: 'Blood for the Master' last year:

 - Firstly I laid down the flat colours under the main inked drawing, starting with a base mid-tone. 

 - Then I painted in the shadows... 

- ...then the highlights

- Added some extra details to the original drawing that I thought would improve it, in digital ink  

- And finally, I synthesised some colour-alchemy to polish it off
