Chapter 2: Thank You Party and Umemiya’s Love life

It’s been a month ever since that day, Makochi has recovered from the damages that Endo and Noroshi have caused to the town. Sakura and Umemiya acted like nothing happened 2 days after the fight and like Umemiya told Sakura, the leader of Bofurin didn’t bother him at all and gives him time to think about his answer towards the older male’s confession.

Umemiya decided to host a Thank you party for the three gangs that helped them when they were in a dire situation. The four kings can’t help but sigh at how literal Umemiya was to call it Thank you party as everyone shouted cheers at Umemiya’s call.

Sakura and Class 1-1 are currently in the roof grilling some Barbecue for the guests as Kanji, Suzuri and Tsubaki approached him making Anzai’s group volunteer to replace Sakura, Suo and Nirei to talk to the guests.

Sakura ended up getting teased by the others about his nonexistent gaming skills and keeps getting grins from the people around him after figuring out that he went to thank the two groups on his own.

As Sakura was struggling at keeping Tomiyama away from the Barbecue to make sure it doesn’t burn and scolding his classmates, Umemiya decided to come to the roof.

“Hey everyone! Are you all eating a lot?” Umemiya exclaimed with one of his arms up in the air as he waves.

“Hey Ume! Your veggies are tasty man!” Kanji called to him making Umemiya grin.

“Aren’t they?!” Umemiya exclaimed as he approached the group and started to talk about different things as the other Roppo Ichiza, Gravel and Shishitoren Members were greeted by others and Umemiya decided to do another cheers.

“What?! This again?” Sakura asked as he looks at Umemiya who looked at him with a grin.

“Who said we can only do it once!” Umemiya replied as he raises his cup.

“To everyone here!” As Umemiya, Kanji and Tomiyama screamed Cheers making everyone look at them with either smiles and some deadpanned looks.

The celebration has ended hours later as the three gangs and the main Bofurin members goes downstairs to say their farewell.

“Take care everyone!” Umemiya exclaimed as the three group of gangs prepared to return to their own turfs.

“Yeah! See you!”

“Thank you for the food”

“Thanks!”

“We had fun!”

Each of the main members of the three gangs said as Togame looked at Sakura making Sakura blush.

“U-Uh so, Let me know if Shishitoren needs anything okay?” Sakura said shyly as Togame smiled at him.

“Thank you” Togame beamed as Tomiyama gave him a thumbs up.

“Don’t worry our pals are back and they are really reliable!!” Tomiyama added as Kanji then calls to Sakura.

“Hey! It’s all nice and fine to worry about another team but…You better practice your gaming skills first” Kanji said as he gives Sakura a teasing grin as the other gave him a look making Sakura piss off.

“I better get some practice too” Togame added as Umemiya looked at them with a shocked look.

“Hey! So there’ll be a prize?!” Umemiya asked but he was ignored as Nirei tries to reassure Sakura and plans on helping him practice but Suo decided to add more teasing into the fire making Sakura officially mad.

“S-SHADDUP YOU ASSHOLES!!! How about you find something new to complain about!! Now leave! GO!” Sakura exclaimed as she turns around and plans on heading back to the rooftop.

“Screw you guys! I have to go clean upstairs” Sakura grumbled as he stomps away from the gathering.

“Okay! Bye Sakura-chan!!!” Tomiyama waved bye but before Sakura could officially leave a voice called upon him.

“Hey! Sakura!” Umemiya called out to him.

“WHAT?!” Sakura angrily exclaimed as he turned towards the owner of the voice and the smile on the bofurin’s leader made him falter.

“Thanks! For all the help” Umemiya said with a huge smile making Sakura’s face turn deep red and looked away as he continues walking out of their sight.

As soon as he knows he was out of their sight, Sakura frowns as he remembers what happened 2 days after the battle and how Umemiya called him amazing when he couldn’t even be as confident as Umemiya saying that he can win against Endo.

“You’re amazing, So amazing that I cannot hide it anymore.”

“I like you, Can you be my boyfriend?”

Then the memory of Umemiya confessing caused the bright red shade appear on his cheeks again as he shakes his head to prevent from anyone seeing him flustered over nothing.

Meanwhile downstairs, Umemiya was looking at the door that Sakura went into and was suddenly tapped by Kanji.

“Seriously Dude, We couldn’t even lift a finger at Endo but Sakura was be able to handle him all by himself. He is a real beast.” Kanji commented making Umemiya look at him with a smile and suddenly Kanji looked at Togame and Hiragi.

“Hiragi, Togame you both saw everything from the beginning to the end right? What happened?!” He asked excitedly wanting to know how Sakura was be able to defeat Endo.

Umemiya watched as Togame gave his comment about how Sakura grew so fast and Hiragi’s concern about Sakura being too pure making Umemiya remember Sakura’s reaction to his confession making him chuckle.

“What’s so funny? Umemiya?” Togame asked as Umemiya waved his hand.

“It’s nothing, I just remembered something that is just funny or more like amusing.” Umemiya lied making everyone else raised a brow but Kanji decided to bring a topic up.

“Oh yeah, So Ume any progress in that department?” Kanji asked wriggling his brow in teasing making Umemiya laugh nervously.

“I don’t know what your talking about Kanji” Umemiya replied acting like he doesn’t know what Kanji mean.

“What do you mean you don’t know? Ume, you’re a 3rd year now you should be thinking about finally getting someone to officially be by your side in the future don’t you think?” Kanji exclaimed as Umemiya frowns but before he can say anything Tsubaki approached Kanji.

“Don’t be that mean to Ume when you can’t even confess your feelings to Shizuka-chan, Nakamura~” Tsubaki teased Kanji who blushed.

“HAH?! S-Shut up! I’m planning on it damn it!” Nakamura exclaimed as he and Tsubaki talked back and forth making everyone sweat dropped but Hiragi glanced at Umemiya who seems to have sad smile on his face.

“What’s wrong Umemiya?” Hiragi asked making everyone look at Umemiya who laughs nervously.

“Nothing, I’m just thinking about this very hard I guess.” Umemiya replied and the Bofurin Four Devas sighed knowing their leader is lying again.

“Ume, You don’t need to think about it that hard after all you did confessed before Kanji” Tsubaki said making Umemiya look at him.

“W-Wait!? Umemiya confessed?! To who?!” Kanji exclaimed shocked as everyone also looked at Tsubaki who was smiling at Umemiya whose cheeks somehow turned red.

“I’m not telling you guys who, Its for Ume’s privacy too you know plus Ume is just waiting for his answer” Those words caused everyone to pause.

“WAIT! HE?!” almost everyone exclaimed as they all looked at Ume who scratched his cheek in embarrassment.

“Y-Yeah” Umemiya replied to everyone confirming that Umemiya likes men.

“Ume-chan, where did you meet this person? Is he strong?! Do we know him?!” Tomiyama asked making Umemiya quite overwhelmed but he still decided to answer.

“I actually met him quite long ago if you considered Spring, yes he is definitely strong and…Yes you guys do know him.” Umemiya replied making everyone pause.

“EH?! WE DO?!” Almost everyone shouted making Umemiya laugh.

“Yes but I will stop right there. I’m not telling you more but I guess I can tell you if he says yes or no.” Umemiya said making everyone smile at him.

“I hope your life would end up in happiness in that department Ume! I wish you luck for this lucky lad.” Kanji said making Umemiya laugh.

“Knowing his luck, I’ll have a hard time for sure.” Umemiya stated making Kanji laughs as everyone officially left after that leaving Umemiya and the Four Devas of Bofurin alone as the others went to help with the cleaning of the place.

“So, Umemiya do you plan on sharing to us who that person is?” Hiragi asked as he glanced at Umemiya who sighs before looking at Hiragi and grinning.

“Nope, Because knowing the three of you I know that you can figure out who it is yourself soon enough.” Umemiya replied making Hiragi to be the one to sigh.

“If its something so dramatic don’t talk to me about it or cough out blood” Hiragi commented as Tsubaki giggles.

“There is nothing you can do about it Hiragi, It’s one of the most interesting but also dramatic situation I’ve ever seen.” Tsubaki said making the other three devas look at Umemiya who laughs nervously.

“I just hope its not a junior Umemiya-shi, we will have trouble with that.” Mizuki said making Tsubaki laugh as Umemiya blush.

“I guess I’m already in trouble” Umemiya said with a laugh making everyone look at him really shocked.

“EHHHHHH!!!” The four Devas exclaimed before separating to help their juniors and friends in cleaning the whole mess the party had caused.

Back to Sakura who is playing fireworks with Class 1-1 and Umemiya who was heading to the roof to check what was happening found himself mesmerized once he saw a smiling Sakura as he cannot stop a blush on his cheeks and he shakes his head before officially approaching the group.

“Yo! What’s happening up here?” Umemiya asked as the group noticed him.

“A-Ah! Umemiya-san! This is-“

“Don’t worry Nirei, I’m not going to tell you to stop” Umemiya stopped him making sure to ease his worry as everyone looked at Umemiya.

“Can I join instead?” Umemiya asked making everyone look at each other grinning and handing Umemiya some fireworks.

“Here you go!”

“I can’t believe the leader of Bofurin himself wants to play fireworks with us!”

“Let’s have all the fun!!!”

Class 1-1 and Umemiya now plays fireworks but Umemiya stayed near Sakura who seems to be looking at him with a frown that somehow turned into a smile when he sees that Umemiya was childish for liking this stuff but he definitely doesn’t mind.

Umemiya hopes that Class 1-1 would continue to make reasons for Sakura to smile because he knows that seeing him smile can actually make the world a lot brighter.

“You should smile more often” Umemiya told Sakura when they were considered alone as everyone dispersed to different groups while Suo and Nirei went to grab something to drink for everyone.

“W-What?” Sakura asked him as Umemiya gives him a grin.

“I’m saying that you look more handsome when your smiling, so you should smile more often.” Umemiya happily said making Sakura’s face turn deep scarlet making him stand and point at him.

“H-HUH?! DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR SAYING?!” Sakura exclaimed taking everyone’s attention.

“What? I’m just being honest. Plus I did bring up my claim if you remember” Umemiya said making Sakura more embarrassed before he faced away from Umemiya.

“D-Do what you want!” Sakura said leaving the rooftop making Umemiya sigh but smiled finding the blushing Sakura just adorable.

“Hiragi is going to kill me if he figures it out” Umemiya mumbled before he left the rooftop to check on the others and away from the curious looks of the Class 1-1 students.

A Secret Between Us (UmeSaku)

Chapter 1: A confession to remember

It was two days after the fight against Noroshi, Sakura can finally move his body after a whole day of rest as he walks towards Furin High now used to the greetings from the townsfolk. As soon as he arrived at Furin he was greeted by an empty school knowing that most Furin students are outside in town trying to fix all the damage the whole fight caused.

Sakura immediately heads up to the roof where he was greeted by the sight of a messy rooftop and the leader of Bofurin standing in the middle looking around.

“Oh!!! Sakura! Your finally here! Can you help me lift the couch?” Umemiya exclaimed as soon as he glanced at Sakura making the bi-colored haired boy approached his upperclassman and helped with the couch as Umemiya waited for Sakura to get a hold on the couch.

“And hup we go!!” Umemiya said as the two of them fixed the couch and is now standing.

“Ouch” Sakura groaned as his ribs which are still healing stings a little bit while Umemiya stands straight with his hands on his hips.

“Thanks! It’s not easy trying to clean up the roof on my own after I’m just getting better.” Umemiya said as he reminisced what happened the day after the battle when he was in bed and how he wasn’t able to get up because of the pain of his battle with Chika.

“How about you? We’re you okay back there?” Umemiya asked worried as Sakura looked away from him.

“W-Well, I was fine.” Sakura lied acting tough when he ended up sleeping the whole day like Umemiya did.

“O-Our injuries were so bad that we weren’t allowed to help with repairing the town.” Sakura added as he remembered Hiragi telling them to rest and let them handle the fixing.

“S-So why are we cleaning the roof?” Sakura asked Umemiya who was crouched down picking up some newspaper.

“Becauuuuuse! I got to do something! I can’t sit still!!” Umemiya replied and during this he squeaked in pain due to his injuries somehow getting scratched by his clothes while Sakura just gave him a deadpanned look to which made Umemiya pause and look at him.

“Plus, I wanted to thank you properly.” Umemiya added as he looked at Sakura.

“For getting backup and for taking care of Endo and just…everything that you did for this whole mess.” Umemiya continued as he looked into Sakura’s heterochromia eyes.

“This fight is a Furin problem, so I thought it was only right that we took care of the mess we are in.” Umemiya paused and then faced his whole body to Sakura.

“I never even thought of asking other teams for help. But you were be able to come up with the idea probably because you’re from out of town…So thank you” Umemiya said then looked at the town below.

“I’m so happy I could get to see this view again…It’s so amazing” Umemiya commented before standing up and facing Sakura again.

“You’re amazing, Sakura” Umemiya said to him with a big smile making Sakura look at him with a face that doesn’t know what to say and before he could say anything Umemiya takes a step forward as he sighs.

“You’re amazing, So amazing that I cannot hide it anymore.” Umemiya said as he approaches Sakura and touched his cheeks to which made Sakura freeze.

‘Huh, What is he doing?’ Sakura thought as he sees that Umemiya’s eyes were shining making him blush.

“W-What are y-“ Before Sakura could ask Umemiya what he was doing, the hand on his cheeks moved to his lips making Sakura’s face turn more red.

“Sakura…” Umemiya said in a hush voice making Sakura more confused and embarrassed at the situation as Umemiya’s face leans in making Sakura’s eyes widen as he closed his eyes preparing for whatever is going to happen until he didn’t feel anything making Sakura open one of his eyes to see Umemiya looking at him with a grin.

“I like you, Can you be my boyfriend?” Umemiya happily asked as Sakura blinked at him and then the blush on his face returned ten-fold as he jumped away from Umemiya.

“W-WHA-WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?! W-WHY WOULD YOU ASK ME THAT?! IM A BOY YOU KNOW THAT RIGHT?!” Sakura exclaimed stuttering as he points at Umemiya who was looking at him with a blink and laughs.

“I know that! I did say boyfriend right?” Umemiya said as Sakura fumes.

“B-But that doesn’t explain w-why would you ask ME that!” Sakura exclaimed as Umemiya chuckles and then faced Sakura.

“Well, How can I not like you after everything you’ve done for Furin and Makochi? At first it was just admiration towards you and I thought of you as a little brother and then the match against Shishitoren, the battle between you and KEEL, the way you treat my friends and up to what you’ve done against Noroshi.I can’t help but like you in a way deeper than before because of how amazing you are.” Umemiya replied to Sakura who was looking at him with a very conflicted look.

“Don’t worry, You can give me your answer when your ready. I’ll always be here in the roof when your ready.” Umemiya reassured him that his answer can wait.

“I-I’ll think about it. B-But don’t expect me to agree or anything!” Sakura told him in stutters making Umemiya nod.

“Of course! I’ll just remain positive and if you decided not to then I’ll act like nothing happened” Umemiya said making Sakura look at him.

“W-What do you mean act like n-nothing happened?” Sakura asked as Umemiya looked at him confused.

“Well, everyone would start wondering if something happened between us if I act heartbroken or something right? Plus I never really planned on confessing knowing that you would not even agree in the first place.” Umemiya replied as Sakura clenched his fist.

“B-But still! How can you act like nothing happened a-after that outcome?! Doesn’t it usually hurt or something?!” Sakura exclaimed making Umemiya smile softly.

“It definitely hurts. But sometimes a person should just accept that they aren’t destined with the one they desired and that is the same as me and you.” Umemiya said in a calm tone as he pats Sakura’s head and gave him a grin.

“So make sure to think about it as long and as hard as you can! I’ll be waiting for an answer!” Umemiya said as Sakura just nodded.

“Okay then, let’s go back to cleaning the roof” Umemiya suggested and as he was about to walk off Sakura’s hand grabbed Umemiya’s hand making the elder look at Sakura who had a shocked looked on his face.

“H-Huh, U-Uh I’m sorry” Sakura apologizes confused making Umemiya smile.

“You can join me in cleaning when you are done thinking. But if you don’t feel well, feel free to head back home.” Umemiya said as he moves away and started to grab the different things scattered in the roof and makes hurt noises when his clothes scratches his injuries.

‘what is this fuzzy feeling in my chest? For some reason it always has something to do with Umemiya because it always appeared when he is around.’ Sakura thought as he watches Umemiya pick up the different trashes while humming something.

After a few minutes he decided to start helping Umemiya clean to which made the older boy grin at him in thanks as they started to clean the whole roof until its spotless.

“There! We are all done! Thank you for all the help Sakura!” Umemiya happily said as Sakura blushed and looked away.

“N-No problem.” Sakura said scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment.

“Well, Now that the roof is done we both can head home and rest our body like we were supposed to.” Umemiya stated as Sakura looked at him who was stretching his arms.

“Y-Yeah, See you tomorrow. Umemiya” Sakura said as he started to leave making Umemiya smile.

“Remember! Take your time and think about it as hard as you can! I’ll be waiting! Sakura!” Umemiya exclaimed to which made Sakura more embarrassed as his face was so red as he walks out of Bofurin to meet with his two vice captains.

“Ah! Sakura-san! What are you doing here? You were supposed to be resting at your place.” Nirei exclaimed as Sakura scratched the back of his neck.

“I-I just can’t sit still while you guys are helping in the repairing of the town.” Sakura replied with the words that Umemiya used on him but changed the wording.

“I see that you were in the roof, Is it possible that Umemiya-san actually called you here to help him clean the roof?” Suo asked with that smile of his making Sakura blush and pointing at him.

“H-Ho-How did you know?! That’s creepy!” Sakura exclaimed as Suo laughs softly.

“Hiragi-san told us about Umemiya-san coming to school and saying that if he was needed he would be in the roof so I just assumed he is definitely going to clean his favorite place.” Suo replied as Nirei nodded.

“W-Well, we just hope that you two didn’t push yourselves too far with the heavy stuff because of your injuries.” Nirei added as Sakura looked at him.

“W-We only fixed the couch and the others are just l-light stuff.” Sakura reassured him making Nirei sigh.

“Thank goodness, I guess you and Umemiya-san just finished fixing up the roof. Are you heading home Sakura-san?” Nirei asked as Sakura looked away from Nirei.

“Y-Yeah, what of it?” Sakura replied making Nirei smile.

“Take care, Sakura-san!” Nirei said making Sakura blush as Suo chuckles.

“Like Nirei-kun said, Take care on your way home Sakura-kun” Suo said making Sakura feel more embarrassed.

“Y-Yeah, I will” Sakura just said making Nirei and Suo grin.

“See you tomorrow, Sakura-san” Nirei said as the two vice captains started heading back inside the school as Sakura watches them walk before heading to his own home.

"Jealous? Why would I be jealous?" Takiishi asked as Endo looked at the window in their shared home.

"Because of the clear attention and inspiration Sakura gets from Umemiya." Endo replied.

'Like how I am jealous on how both you and Sakura somehow is wrapped between Umemiya's hands' Endo thought.

Yo! How have you been? Hopefully your doing great! I just want to make you remember your promise with me. So I thought the first one will be me coming to you! You can tell anyone you want about my arrival to warn them for your sake but I'd prefer if they just go dead at the sight of me but I know that the guy you wouldn't let that happen.

Oh right, I'm also bringing Takiishi so he can fulfill his promise with Umemiya which is actually a bad taste in my mouth but what can I do when two of the object of my affections are somehow attached to that man.

Well, Takiishi can take care of himself if he wants since I found you~ I'll make sure to make you fall in love with me instead~
