there’s this extremely kind soul of a woman on instagram that makes accessible recipes that don’t require standing, chopping, or a stove and she might just have a permanent place in my heart

edit: here's her YouTube account, as well as her TikTok and Facebook :)

What really ticks me off when talking about ai is when people are like "it's unavoidable" or "you'll have to learn to use it someday" or "its going to be part of the future" like no it's plenty avoidable actually if you have a spine stronger than a dandelion. You simply say "no" and continue to use your own goddamn brain.
#ai it's not even a decade and people call it 'unavoidable'#it's incredibly easy when you don't outsource your brain#general

truly just as we have universal health care we need to have universal death care. dying is not optional and funerals should not be a financial burden for families.

Reasons why women don’t want to have children actually:
- lack of affordable and accessible childcare and/or parental leave, meaning that in order to have a kid you have to sacrifice a huge amount of your career and future, and it’s always the woman that does this because of patriarchal norms. It also means women are left by themselves with overwhelming babies whilst their partners go to work.
- lack of affordable and accessible housing. Why would anyone want a baby if they can’t afford to adequately house it?
- the fact that as we (slowly) learn more about the female body people can’t gaslight women into believing pregnancy and birth are beautiful lovely miracles anymore. We know it hurts and we see how other women’s pain isn’t taken seriously while they’re hurting!
- it’s almost impossible to raise a family on one income so while society is trying to push women into returning to the kitchen they don’t seem to realise that that’s fiscally impossible for the majority of people.
-not wanting to introduce babies into a world full of evil that’s more evident than ever. Babies born today will have to tackle climate change, the increasingly dystopian nature of technology, political extremism, etc. these things have largely existed before now but people are more aware of them.
- not being forced to have babies and get married as much for the sake of survival means that women will inevitably try and do other things, which is good!
- we don’t need to have many children due to the fact we can’t make them work in mines/factories/farms anymore, and infant mortality is much lower so people aren’t having insurance babies. My grandpa had 8 siblings and worked in a coal mine. That wasn’t good!
- men aren’t desirable prospects and good prospective fathers. They weren’t before but at least your average male in the fifties earned money and wasn’t addicted to porn. And women can now choose which man they want to be with so they aren’t going to choose men that suck (which is the majority).
Reasons why men and the government think women don’t want kids:
- women are mean and frigid and won’t accept my penis and my babies wahhhh :(
The thing is is that having children isn’t anti feminist in any way imo. It prevents issues like aging population and gives hope that we can raise them to be better than us. Maybe our daughters will escape the oppressive fist of the patriarchy, and maybe our sons will be better people than their predecessors. But instead of actually addressing the issues leading to the low birth rates, they’re instead used as a stick to beat women into submission, shaming them for not fulfilling their traditional role. It’s disgusting.

i don’t get horror movies, why doesn’t the protagonist just act in a way which will prevent a story from being told or piece of entertaining media made
