I have a ticket for Saturday. Has it improved enough to spend money getting to Londoner watch it? I haven't seen anything that suggests so. Hmm.

So true. It’s important to acknowledge that some performers revel in post-performance attention because it is in their nature to be sociable and outgoing. For others, like Ben, it is a necessary evil they probably wish were not so necessary. I was appalled last year when I read some of the encounters, some of which truly did loosely define the word stalking and showed a blatant disregard for the message Ben was sending out. In the real world, if a person doesn’t answer the door when you knock it’s because they don’t want company. If they don’t pick up the phone when you call its because they don’t want to speak to you at that time. Bring it into context, then. If they don’t exit via stage door knowing people are waiting for them I think the message is pretty clear. I don’t see why it’s any different in this context than in the real world context. I’m not even kidding when I call it stalking. I’m really not. I saw disturbing evidence of it last year, the year before, no doubt there will be evidence of it again this year with the same select few trying to justify it as eager fans who love him so very, very much and who may never get the chance again so they HAVE to pursue him. If they were able to be objective in the slightest they’d see it for what it is: Stalker definition: a person who harasses or pursues someone with unwanted attention. The Almeida is pretty poorly designed in this sense because, like you said Beaubete, there’s no real escape. The problem is there are a number of very persistent people who will wait. For hours, if necessary. This isn’t the first time he has said something along these lines but the fact he has to say it again and again proves that people are not listening. They are blatantly disregarding his wishes because they NEED that selfie and they NEED that ten second conversation that he’s inevitably providing because he has to, not because he wants to.
“Whishaw revelled in the anonymity and opportunity to people-watch, even expressing annoyance when post-performance he was nabbed by selfie-seeking fans as he tried to slip quietly away. “Post-performance is ‘me time’ and I like to take stock rather than be surrounded by people, but I know why people want to shake your hand and have photos,” he concedes.”
If this doesn’t stop people stalking him four blocks to force interaction on him I don’t know what will. He might concede it as part of the job but there’s a reason his stage door presence is infrequent.

Credit to the creator, kasadija957. This is just beautiful. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a character more than I loved that priest.

Just so cute. I hope they follow the comics with this character. David Haller being mentally well just isn't how it's meant to be.

What on earth attracted Ben Whishaw to this priggish tosspot? He tries to make Luke engaging but he has very little to work with. His best feature is his luxuriant black coiffure which, when mussed up, resembles the storm-tormented North Sea at midnight. He’s landed himself in a dreadful pool of stagnant chatter here. Avoid it. You’d have more fun watching jelly set.
